Don Williams and Luke Boyd were freelance hit men, killers for hire. While d**g dealing, extortion, motor vehicle theft, and numerous other illegal activities were all part of their everyday routine, more as a way of keeping busy and earning a few dollars between jobs than for anything else, killing for money was the cornerstone of their financial pursuits.
Both habitual criminals, Williams and Boyd were well known to police, and had been in and out of prison many times since their respective teenage years. To date, despite their extensive history of offending, neither had been convicted of anything serious enough to incur a particularly lengthy term of imprisonment.
