The whole procession of Parker’s funeral has been done by the Mortimers’ family. Emma, his wife who is pregnant with their third child, is being taken care of by her family and friends. After a week, however, people start to go back to their own lives. Their lives continue. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work the same way with Emma. Her life has stopped the day Parker died.
Chris is the only one who stays. He takes control of the Mortimer’s household and everybody’s life inside it. He hires a live-in nanny for when he has to go to work himself because he still has a large corporation to run. However, when he can do his work from home, he does it inside the Mortimers’ residence. Chris takes the responsibility without qualm, making himself the man of the house.
