'Oh no, what have I done? I shouldn't have uttered such a statement!' I kept on thinking to myself, and I felt embarrassed for referring to that incident. I make sure not to meet with his cute eyes also.
Mason seems to be waiting for my response, as he looks anxious while staring at me. I immediately bow down my head in regret, biting my lips, and didn't reply to his question.
"Since you are not saying anything, I need to take my leave now. Make sure you adhere to everything I explained to you tonight!" Mason said to me with an appealing tone, and turn to leave.
After Mason left, I was still standing at the front of our apartment, regretting my actions, and my last statement to him.
'What even came over me? And why on Earth would I even let such words come out of my mouth?' I continued thinking to myself, as I walked inside, with anger and disappointment towards myself.
*Next Morning**
The following morning, I and Annabell woke up to check on Diana, who was half awake, as I tapped her to get up.
"Good morning Diana" I greeted her calmly, and politely.
"Good morning girls, what's up?" Diana also greeted and asked, to know why we were both staring at her.
"Why are you sounding so calm with her Khloe? As if she did something cool!" Annabell got angrier with Diana, for the reckless act she put on yesterday.
"But seriously Diana, what you did last night was too reckless and dangerous... Do you even know how we got home safely yesterday?" I asked if Diana knew how she got home yesterday, with a serious look.
"I'm sorry guys, but it wasn't entirely my fault," Diana said calmly, as she apologized to us.
"So, what happened?" Annabell probed further to know what happened, and how she got to the state they met her yesterday.
"I was all alone, having a nice time with myself when those men came around to also have some drinks, at a nearby table close to mine. When they noticed I was alone, they decided to come over to my table... They asked me to join them, but I refused and after then, I couldn't remember much. I just remembered that I was in their midst, laughing, and enjoying their company! It seems they must have, first of all, spiked something in my drink, the first time they came around!" Diana explained as she was looking sad and disappointed in herself.
"You just need to be more careful, and try not to be going to places like that, by yourself again!" Annabell said, but this time around, she sounds calm.
"We couldn't get to meet with the person that called us to come over, after meeting you in such mess... So we couldn't get your handbag back." I explained to Diana, why we couldn't get her stuff back.
"Diana, are you even okay at all now? Or don't you think, you need to see a doctor?" I suddenly asked with curiosity and concern, as I stare into her eyes.
"No... I'm very fine, I just need to have a lot of rest, and that will be all." Diana sounds calm, as she assures us that, she's fine.
As we kept on chit-chatting, we heard a knock on the door. And after wondering who could be at the door this early, Annabell went on to check who it was.
"Good morning Miss," A young, handsome man, with medicated eyeglasses on, greeted gently.
"Good morning, who are you asking of?" Annabell greeted and ask him, in an unwelcome manner.
"I was the person that called last night, about a young lady, that was being molested by some gang of guys!" He explained as he made himself known as the last night's caller.
"Oh sorry, you can come in please..." Annabell sounds more polite, as she invited him inside.
Immediately the man walks into the living room with Annabell, we were all shocked by Diana's statement!
"What! You again? What are you doing here?" Diana asked, with anger noticed in her voice.
"Who is he? Do you know him?" I asked out of curiosity because I was surprised.
"He met me at the club last night, and asked for us to have drinks together, but I turned him down. So, why are you here?" Diana explained how she knew him, and also asked what he is doing in their apartment.
"He was the one who called us last night to come over to the club!" Annabell quickly explained before he could say anything.
"Are you involved in what happened to her last night?" Annabell turned to the young man and asked with a stern look.
"No, of course, I don't! I only went to the club to have a drink, and I couldn't stand what they were doing to her. So I had to call the last number she dialled on her phone!" He clarified what happened in a cool manner.
"Thank you for calling us... But how did you get her phone?" I thanked him and also wants to know how he got hold of Diana's phone.
"When those guys started harassing her, I was watching from a little distance and luckily enough, her bag fell to the ground when they pushed her... I sneaked over to their side to pick it up if I can get anything that could be of help to her, so she can be rescued from those men. So when I got her phone from her bag, I decided to call the last number she dialled, to inform the person about her present condition." He continued to explain how he got Diana's phone, and how he contacted her friends, to let them know about her whereabouts.
"I also followed you guys home last night to return her belongings. But, as soon as I got here, and before I could step out of the car, I got a call to come and attend to something very urgent... I'm sorry, I couldn't return her handbag to her yesterday!" He pleaded with us calmly.
"Wow, thanks a lot, sir! Diana, you should be grateful to him for saving you." I thanked him, and turned to Diana, to tell her to show appreciation to him for everything.
"Thank you... But why were you not with my friends to confront them?" Diana thanked him and also asked why he didn't show up against those men.
"Those men are very dangerous, and I couldn't have risked my life any further for someone I don't know... The only thing I could do was what I did and I must say, your friend here, was very brave. And my name is Diego!" He pointed to me as he introduced himself.
I and Annabell introduced ourselves to Diego and thanked him. Then we left Diana and Diego, alone, in the living room.
"I didn't get your name from you, Miss?" Diego said calmly while smiling at Diana.
"My name is Diana and please, where is my handbag?" Diana said her name to him, as she asked where her handbag is.
"Oh sorry, here is it!" Diego handed over the bag to her.
"Since everything is settled now, I think I should take my leave," Diego said, as he stood up to take his leave.
"Okay, thanks once again," Diana replied, as she escorted him out of the living room. "Won't you ask for my contact?" She suddenly said, while smiling at Diego.
"I would love to have it! But I don't want you to feel I'm asking for it, because of the little help I rendered to you." Diego said with excitement, as he brought out his phone, and handed it over to Diana, to type her contact into it.
"Thanks for the number, and I will call to check on you later," Diego said smiling, as he walks away to his car.
I and Annabell, were already in the living room, waiting for Diana to return inside.
"You need to be more careful Diana... And I must say, Diego is such a gentleman and seems very well-mannered and intelligent." I sound calm, as I state my view about Diego.
"Sure I will... Thank you all for looking out for me!" Diana said, and we all started laughing.
As we continued chatting and also deliberating on what to have for breakfast, we suddenly heard another knock on the door again!
"Who could this be again?" Annabell asked in curiosity, as I walk to the door, to check who it is.
"Good morning Khloe," Mitchell greeted, with smiles all over her face.
"Good morning Mitchell, so surprised to see you here. Please come inside!" I greeted, as shock and excitement could be noticed in my voice...But I seem very happy to see Mitchell, as I received her into our apartment.
"Good morning ladies!" Mitchell greeted Annabell and Diana, whom she met in the living room.
"Good morning Miss," they both greeted her and were about to leave for the room.
"Before you guys leave, this is Mitchell from Crystal mind publishing company... She's one of the big shots over there!" I introduce Mitchell to my friends, and they all started laughing at the way I described her.
"Meet my friends and the only family I have, Annabell and Diana!" I said with a smile. They all greeted themselves, and my friends depart to the room.
After Diana and Annabell left, it was just me and Mitchell alone in the living room. "What can I offer you please?" I asked modestly.
"Nothing, I'm very okay... I just needed someone to talk to." Mitchell said, with a hint of confusion and unhappiness on her face.
"Okay... Hope all is well?" I was curious to know what was going on.
"I have a lot of things on my mind! Can we please go to another place to talk?" Mitchell answered calmly, as she pleaded with me, for us to go somewhere else to talk.
"Okay, sure... Let me change into something else, and also inform my friends about my movement." I said and moved Into the room to change my dress. I also informed my friends that I will be going out.
I and Mitchell walked down the street and later got to a coffee shop, not too far from where I reside. We ordered two cups of coffee, and after it was brought to us, we started our conversation.
"What exactly is bothering your mind?" I asked with all seriousness.
"I am in love with someone, and I have done all my possible best, to let him notice that I have feelings for him, but he never seems to ever get it!" Mitchell said with disappointment, written all over her face.
"Have you told him how you feel?" I asked calmly while looking Mitchell in the face.
"No, I haven't done that... Do you think that will be necessary at all? And would it be nice?" Mitchell answered as she asked if telling the person will be okay.
"Sure! I believe asking someone out shouldn't be left to the men alone... If you truly want him, and you love him, you should shoot your shot!" I sound confident, as I asked Mitchell to do all she can, to get what she wants.
"Try to let him know how you feel about him. And if he doesn't feel the same about you, you knew you tried and were never a coward to your feelings..." I continued talking and insisted that Mitchell should shoot her shot.
"Thank you very much, and I must say that, talking to you is so easy... I will do as you have instructed." Mitchell thanked me and commends me for being easy to talk to.
"So, you tell me, don't you have any man in your life?" Mitchell asked as she smiles at me.
"No, no, I haven't been too fortunate when it comes to men. So I'm just focused on finding myself, and my career for now!"
"Oh, okay... Don't worry, all will fall in place for you soon. You are a very beautiful lady." Mitchell said calmly, as she compliments my beauty.
"Thanks a lot, Mitchell!" I appreciated her compliment, and continue to sip my coffee.
"Can I shock you about something?" Mitchell asked as she smiles, looking at me calmly.
"Okay, tell me something," I said anxiously.
"The person I'm in love with is Mason!" It seems Mitchell said it intentionally, to see my reaction...
