Episode 9: Unexpected Rescue

"Who the hell does he think he is, to hang up on me like that! He should have explained politely, then being rude. So full of himself!"

I got up angrily, and heads straight to the kitchen, to prepare some coffee. When I finished preparing it, I walked back to the living room with the coffee in my hand, and sit.

As soon as I sat down, and was about to start drinking the coffee, Diana came out of the room, all dressed up in elegant clothes.

"How do I look?" Diana asked with a smile, as she kept walking in front of me.

"Wow, you look amazing! Turn around let me see you properly!" I replied with a chuckle, and she starts turning around.

"Where are you heading to?" I suddenly asked, when she stopped turning.

"Common girl, I need to show off with my new dresses! They aren't bought just to beautify our wardrobe!" She replies with laughter.

"Hmm, okay! Just be careful wherever you are going!" I warned her with all seriousness.

"Alright, my celebrity girlfriend!" Diana jokingly said, and we both burst into serious laughter.

As she was about to step out of the house, I suddenly called her back, and ask her a quick question; "That reminds me, what about the apartment we planned to go and pay for, today?"

"You and Annabell can sort that out yourselves. I don't need to follow you guys, to get that done!" She answers with a raised brow and stepped out.

That is Diana's lifestyle! She loves flaunting whatever she just bought, and also likes partying. Shortly after Diana left, Annabell came to meet me in the living room, from the bathroom.

"Where's Diana? I couldn't find her in the room!" Annabell asks me, as she sits.

"She has gone out, after putting on one of the new dresses we bought yesterday! I'm sure you understand what that means, right?" I smiled and gave her a signal of what it meant.

"Oh, she has gone partying again? Diana would never change!" Annabell said with a frown, as she shakes her head.

I agree with her, Diana isn't someone that will change over the night. She loves when things go her own way, without having a rethink, if it's good or not.

After we both talked for a while, we got up and went on to prepare to go out. We need to go and see Mr Andrea and pay for the apartment.

By the time we were done preparing and walked out of the house, it was already past 2, in the afternoon. We took a cab and headed to the new apartment, where Mr. Andrea is already waiting for us.

When we got there, we exchange pleasantries and apologize for keeping him waiting.

"It's alright Miss Khloe, I haven't waited for too long. Please sit!" Mr. Andrea said politely, as he asked us to have our seats.

After we got seated, Annabell and I started going through the house documents, which Mr Andrea handed to us after being seated.

We went through it for a short while and began with the payment processes. After we paid the money, I was asked to sign the documents, and Mr Andrea did as well.

I collected one of the copies of the document myself after I signed and thanked Mr Andrea. He handed the keys to me and leaves.

"Finally, we are moving here!" Annabell jumped up in excitement as she looks around.

"We need to start ordering some home appliances online, right now!" I said while I brought out my phone.

I went to the most trusted and fastest delivery site, to start placing an order. In no time, the orders start coming in, to the new apartment.

Annabell and I were busy arranging the stuff that keeps coming in and didn't know that the time has gone. It was when my phone started ringing, that I picked it up from the couch, I knew it was 7:30 pm.

"Hi Diana, where are you?" I answered the call.

"Sorry, this is not the owner of the phone." A husky male voice, replies to me from the other end of the call.

I was surprised when someone else answers Diana's phone because that was unusual for her. I made a signal to Annabell, to come closer to me, and put the phone on loudspeaker.

"Who are you? And can I speak to the owner please?" I politely said, while waiting for his response.

"The owner of this phone is being harassed by some dangerous men over here!" The person replied as if he is whispering, so no one can hear him.

"What!!" Annabell and I said in unison, with our mouths wide open.

"Where is she right now?" I asked with a shaky voice, as I become impatient.

"At the Royal Fox Club, she seems under the influence of some hard drugs given to her by those men. Just come over and take her right now!" He said and hangs up immediately.

"I pray, this teaches her a lesson she would never forget!" Annabell said with disdain and looked so worried as she stands up. I hurriedly stand up with Annabell, and we head to the club.

On getting there, we saw a lot of people gathered around some particular people, and they seem to be staring at something fascinating. We moved over to see what was happening and were shocked to see Diana among four men.

She was being pushed from one person to the other, and her dress seems torn a little bit on the left-hand side. From the way she was staggering and talking, it shows she isn't in her right state of mind.

"Leave her alone!" I screamed out from behind when I saw the way they were treating her.

All eyes turned to look at me in awe. They were all shocked because no one dared to move closer to those men, not to talk of saying anything at all. From the way they dressed and talks with one another, those men looked like an Underworld mafia don, and nobody wants to offend people like them.

"Who is this?" One of them asked in dismay, as he glares at me from head to toe.

"I think it's another sweet blondie, we can play with!" Another one said, and they all burst into laughter.

Without paying much attention to me, they continue what they were doing to Diana. I became furious and walked over to them.

Annabell only stayed amidst the crowd and never uttered a word. I can't blame her, she's just trying to save herself. At least, no one asked Diana to get herself involved with this mess!

"I said you should leave her alone!" I spoke with much wrath in me. They all turned, and focus on me.

"And what if we don't stop?" The one that glared at me the other time, move over to my side.

As he got closer, I became afraid because of his hefty physique but didn't let it show on my face. I maintained the brave face I was putting on from the onset.

"Seize her!" The one sitting down and holding Diana ordered the remaining three men.

I know I have stepped beyond my boundaries today, by speaking up. But no matter what it is, I still need to look out for my friend. So, I kept on praying inwardly, for a miracle, so my friends and I can leave here right now!

I moved back a bit and started trembling, when the man in front of me raised his right hand, to grab my hair. I immediately closed my eyes and raised my hands in defence, when I suddenly heard a big thud on the floor.

I quickly opened my eyes to see what was going on and was surprised to see Mason, beating up those men. Finally, my prayer has been answered. I can't explain how I'm feeling right now, seeing Mason, comes to my rescue out of the blue. It's a dream come true, indeed!

I rushed over to Diana and picked her up. That's when Annabell comes out of the crowd and joined me in helping Diana too. Mason beats the hell out of those men and warned them to stay away from us.

"This is not the end!" One of those men said angrily, and they all left the club. After they left, Mason asked us to get inside his car and drives us home.

When we got home, I and Annabell helped Diana to her room, because she was not yet okay. Annabell stays with her in the room, whilst I came to meet Mason in the living room.

"Thanks for tonight, I appreciate it!" I thanked him as soon as I got to the living room.

"It's nothing!" Mason seems indifferent to his usual rude attitude when he replies to me.

"Can I ask you something important?" I hesitated before asking him.

"Sure!" He replied calmly.

"Why did you ask me not to honour Mr Angelino's interview? I thought I have the right to do whatsoever I want, without seeking your permission!" I sounded a little angrier.

Mason stares at me with a scorn look for such a statement, and he couldn't hold his anger anymore.

"You want to go for an interview right? Then go ahead! But make sure you bear any consequences that come after, without involving the company's name in it!" He yelled at me.

"Angelino is a dangerous and expert journalist, that can turn your words against you! He cares less about the outcome and focuses on growing his fan base with such a thing. He is a serious critic in his field, and can destroy your career in a day if you are not fully prepared! That's what I'm trying to avoid for you. We need to school you first about all this, before you can go for a big interview, like that of Angelino's!" Mason explained in a harsh tone.

After his explanation, I came to realize where he is driving, and he is right for saying that. Still, his tone was too harsh! I kept on glaring at him, without saying anything. Then he continues;

"What you did tonight, is uncalled for! Haven't I warned you, about not getting yourself involved in such a thing anymore? Think about the company first, before taking any drastic moves! I instructed the financial management to pay you some amount of money, what else do you want? If it's your friends that are dragging you into it, then cut all ties with them!" He said angrily.

"What! You don't have any right to meddle in our affairs! Do you know what we've gone through together? They are my family, which I would do anything for, even if it has to do with me, terminating our contracts and returning your money! You can say anything to me, but don't you dare involve my friends in it anymore! After all, I never talked about the lady that kissed you the other day!" I flared up too and didn't know when I said the last statement.

Mason that kept mute all through when I was flaring up, suddenly burst into laughter, immediately he heard what I said last. "The Lady I kissed?" He asked with a smile.
