Ashley Gustavo POV
It felt like forever to close from work and when it was finally time, I packed up and headed straight to Ann's ward. She had been alone the whole day and I only got to check on her randomly, unable to spend time with her.
My phone rang as I approached the ward, so I paused and checked. It was Asher. Was he here to pick me up? It couldn't be that because he knew that I would be spending the night here with Ann.
"Hey!" I held the phone to my ear after I swiped the answer button.
"Hey! Have you closed from work?" His voice sounded from the other end, and my heart fluttered. It wasn't something strange since it always happened.
"Hmm... Just now," my voice came out breathlessly.
"But... Are you ok? You're sounding a bit dull," I asked when I noticed the way
