15. Make up your mind

1345 Words
Why was she feeling like this? She shouldn’t get upset because her FRIEND had to cancel their meeting to go out with a boy, I mean, it’s totally normal. "Get your s**t together and make up your mind dude." Beca murmured to herself walking around the quad. Pictured of their kiss still played on repeat in her head, she couldn't deny she felt something that moment when their lips touched. She couldn't deny it. "What's going on?" Stacie asked, making her friend jump. "You really want to murder me." she sighed. "Nothing, it’s just to hot in there." She attempted to make an excuse. "Yeah sure, too hot when it’s December. Sure Becs." Stacie said patting Beca's shoulder. “It’s just, I don’t know, s**t happened and Matt just came up in a conversation with Jesse.” Beca sighed, Stacie hugged her immediately. "There's no way we can skip practice, right?" "Since this is the last week of class and then we have the break... No. We perform next weekend again." Beca groaned when she remembered she had to perform again, that meant embarrass herself doing the same song with the same choreography. "True." She sighed rubbing her temples. The whole day went by like every normal day, but slower. It was now time for practice, Beca wasn’t really motivated, she wasn’t in the mood to dance, sing and deal with Aubrey's orders. She took her time to walk to practice. "You're late Mitchell." Aubrey said in a firm tone. "Its 4:01PM, Aubrey." "A minute late." she whispered yelled with a fake smile. It seemed like everything that happened in Beca's house never existed, she was back being her bitchy self. They warmed up with the normal cardio, then started with the same lame dance. Beca was struggling to follow the moves, nothing like Stacie who learned them like a pro. Chloe noticed that Beca was lost in the choreography and decided to help her. Placing her arms on Beca's, she stood behind the brunette whispering in her ear the moves. Beca tensed at first, but before she could relax and get used to the ginger's touch, she shrugged her off, looking her dead in the eye. "I know, I can do it I just got lost." Chloe felt bad, she was trying to help the brunette and said person pushed her away. "Okay." She said softly going back to her spot. If Beca had to be honest with herself, she did felt guilt after pushing Chloe off her. Why did she feel mad with the red head if she did nothing? The practice was done. Every Bella was grabbing their coats, hoodie or whatever they wore and started leaving, everyone grabbing one of the papers that were laying on the piano. "What are those papers for?" Beca whispered to Stacie. "If you were paying attention, you would know they're for this Saturday’s riff off." Aubrey replied. Beca was debating if she should ask what that was or no. She decided not to. "Right." Stacie and Beca headed out, each one with the riff off paper. "Why the long face?" Stacie asked approaching her. "I don’t know if i still want to be a Bella, I don’t even know why I’m one." Beca said without looking at her friend's face. "What’s making you change your mind?" Stacie could guess the answer, in fact, she knew the answer but she'd never tell Beca. "I don’t enjoy these practices, Aubrey always gets to my last nerve and I don’t have the guts to sing in front of people without the stupid medication." This was true, everything she said was true, but that wasn’t the real reason. Stacie knew how hard this would be for Beca, she didn’t know she was feeling like that. "I know it’s hard." She said side hugging Beca. "But please don’t leave me alone, if by the start of next year you still want to leave, I’ll leave with you." Beca looked up at her friend with a sincere smile. "This is why I’m still dealing with you." They got in the car and Stacie dropped Beca at her house. Beca got in her house, leaving her keys on the table. "How was practice, Satan spawn?" Caren yelled from the kitchen. "What's that smell?" Beca decoded to change the topic without even answering. "Uh dinner, I guess." Caren was going from one point of the kitchen to other, carrying plates and burned food. "An attempt of Thai food." Caren placed a big plate filled with meat and burned wooden sticks. "What did I do now?" Beca said jokingly. "Ha ha laugh all you want, you're missing this tasty piece of SHIT." Caren spit the meat she had put in her mouth, realizing how bad it was. "Sushi?" Beca asked. Caren nodded agreeing. After Beca hung up the phone she made her way upstairs to her room, connecting her headphones as soon as she opened her laptop. "You changed topic." Her mother said taking Beca's headphones off of her daughter's head. "WHAT’S WITH EVERYONE SCARING ME?" Beca said dramatically "what do you mean?" "I asked how practice was, and I ended up eating my shitty plate. Spill." Caren spin her daughter's chair around so she could face her. Beca laughed before answering. "Damn, internet explorer, is that you?" She said earning a playful slap from her mother. "It was fine." "So something happened." Caren stated. "The scale goes excellent, amazing, great, good, bad, horrible and then fine." Beca rolled her eyes at her mother. "Nothing I’m just getting tired of having anxiety, I mean, I always hated it but singing in front of human beings makes it like 1000 times worse." Again, that was true but it wasn’t the whole truth. "Awe honey." Caren said wrapping an arm around Beca. "I know you don’t like it and it’s not your fault, but you seemed so happy the first’s weeks." "Yeah well, you seemed happy during the first’s weeks after you had me." The tiny DJ said, her mother pushing her jokingly. "Anyways, I need help with this thing on the TV. I want to watch a movie and I have no idea how." Caren decided to change topic, of course she knew her daughter. She knew something was in Beca's mind besides her anxiety issue and pushing her wouldn’t do nothing. "Netflix?" Beca asked. "Like if I remember. Just come downstairs and help me." She said grabbing Beca by the wrist dragging her to the living. Tuesday, three more days till Christmas break. Beca entered the school, making her way to her first class since she didn’t have much time before the bell rang. Classroom A6, like every Tuesday morning, before she could go in there she was stopped by some cheery happy person. "Chloe chill." Beca said in a calm tone. She couldn’t hear anything that Chloe said. "Deep breathe." Chloe took a deep breath and started talking. "I feel something is wrong with you, like if you are mad at me or something." Beca's mouth was shaped as a perfect 'O' what was she supposed to answer. "It’s nothing." She tried to enter the classroom again but was stopped again by Chloe. "It’s not nothing. I care, Beca and if something is bothering you and I want to know because I’m your friend." Chloe said with a sincere look. "It’s my business so drop it." Again, WHY ARE YOU TREATING HER LIKE THIS? She asked to herself. "You’re late to Chemistry." and with that, she enter the class, leaving the red head alone in the hall. You're an asshole Mitchell.
