It’s been an hour since the Bellas arrived at the club. Some of them got there on their own, including Denise, Aubrey and Lilly. Everyone was getting shots, drinking whatever they found or dancing with strangers, but Beca wasn’t.
Beca sat in front of the bartender since she stepped in the club, only drinking water or lemonade, watching how her friends had the moment of their lives.
"C'mon B, shake that booty." CR and Beca started a pretty good friendship, they had a lot in common and Beca liked being around CR.
"I’m not the "clubbing" type." Beca said making the air quotes. "Go, have fun."
On the other end of the club, Chloe was drinking with Aubrey and Amy.
"Not even a little bit mad?" Chloe asked.
She was surprised to see how well her friend was handling the situation, I mean, an alternative girl just beat her in a Riff Off and now Aubrey wasn’t allowed to direct the set.
"Not a bit." She answered, taking a sip of her drink.
After some seconds of silence Aubrey realized that lately, Chloe has been spending time with her. It’s not that Aubrey disliked that; it’s just that Chloe always spent time with Beca.
"You're not spending so many time with Beca, why's that?"
Chloe's expression changed. Aubrey was 107% sure her friend was crushing hard on the midget. "Things are weird." She simply said.
"Mind telling me?" Aubrey asked.
Chloe took a deep breath, she never told anybody about the kiss she shared with Beca that night, the night that they slept at Beca's house playing drinking games.
"I kissed Beca." She breathed out.
Aubrey chocked with the alcohol. "yOU WHAT?"
"Actually she kissed me. I told her I was starting to develop feelings towards a person and asked her what to do, she told me I should show that person that I like it." She downed what was left of her bottle before talking again. "So I cupped her face to taste the waters-"
She was cut by Aubrey's laugh.
"You dirty minded, not those waters." The red head said slapping the blonde.
"I’m sorry, keep going." Aubrey apologized trying to calm down.
"So, I cupped her face and got closer, testing her reaction but she closed the gap. We stayed silent after that and didn’t talk anymore." She sighed.
"I see." Aubrey said. She thought Chloe needed to get her mind off of Beca, and tonight was a good opportunity so, why not? "I love this song."
"You hate this song." Chloe said, knowing that her friend never liked Maxi Trusso.
"Shut up and dance with me." She said before dragging Chloe towards the sweaty dancing bodies.
"You hate that one too." Chloe laughed.
The alcohol started working it magic, taking all the problems away from Chloe
1:20 AM, it’s been like two hours now, Beca's ass was already flat for sitting for so long. She was bored and hungry and in a room full of people, could it be worse? Yes.
She played alone to "Spot the Bellas”. There is Stacie drinking with Amy, Jessica and Ashley dancing with Lilly, CR was saying something to the female DJ and Aubrey was scrolling through some social media. And there's a dude approaching Chloe, oh and look, he's grabbing her by the waist. Beca was getting uncomfortable, and she had no idea why, she hasn’t drank so why was she reacting like that? Maybe because she knew that Chloe wasn’t that comfortable around boys.
Before she could realize what she was doing, she was already walking (more like storming) towards them.
When she saw Chloe's expression, she didn’t think twice. Chloe was visibly annoyed with the dude and uncomfortable with his hands on her waist.
Beca appeared next to the red head with no expression, she simply placed her arm on Chloe's waist, making the guy take a step back.
"Sorry dude, she's mine."
Chloe couldn’t believe what she just heard, Beca couldn’t believe what she said, the guy couldn’t believe he just hit on a lesbian. Chloe and the guy looked at Beca with wide eyes for a moment; Beca was dying in the inside but showed no emotion in the outside.
"You can hit on anyone you want here, just not her." Beca didn’t wait for a response and dragged the drunken Chloe outside the club.
"Thanks, Becs." Beca could smell the alcohol from Chloe's mouth.
"You need food." it wasn’t a question. Beca knew Chloe needed food.
Beca laid Chloe on one of the bus' seats and told her to stay there, like if she heard.
She entered the club again and spotted Lilly. "I need a favor." Beca told the Asian girl.
Lilly nodded her head, sign that Beca could keep talking. "Can I borrow your car? Chloe is drunk and she needs to get home quickly."
Lilly nodded her head; she had no problem giving her car to Beca.
"Thank you, I owe you one. Here you have the bus key." Beca said handing her the keys. "I know you aren’t the drinking type, just leave Amy, CR and Stace at their respective homes."
Lilly nodded again. Beca left the club with Lilly's keys. She got in the bus again to pick Chloe. Beca picked Chloe up bridal style and left the bus.
Suddenly, a hand firmly grabbed her wrist. It was Lilly, Beca breathed in relief.
"Don’t move the seats." Lilly mumbled, her face dead serious.
"Hum yeah, sure. No problem." Beca told her before walking towards Lilly's car.
Beca laid Chloe at the backseat and turned on the car's engine.
Beca drive to an 'In-n-out ' with Chloe sleeping in the backseat. After picking up their food, Beca sat in the backseat, sitting Chloe up.
"Chlo." She softly said trying to wake her up. "Here" She said handing her the food.
"Thanks." Chloe said grateful. Her voice was hoarse and her head was starting to kill her.
The girls sat in silence eating the junk food. Beca smiled when she heard Chloe moan after she bit her burger for the first time.
"This is why I love you." Chloe said.
Beca almost choke with the burger. 'As friends, she meant it as friends' she said to herself trying to keep her chill. "I know you do, Red."
Within 15 minutes or less, their food was done and Beca was ready to take Chloe to her home.
"Where are your keys?" Beca killed the car's engine in front of Chloe's house.
"Don't know." Chloe shrugged. Her face was getting paler.
Beca quickly got out of the car. "No no no no no." She said opening the door for Chloe and pulling her red curls to a side so Chloe could throw up without making a mess. "Lilly would've killed me if you threw up in her car"
Beca looked for Chloe's keys in the pockets of Chloe's jacket but found them in the back of her jeans.
It was 2 in the morning; she hoped everybody in the Beale house would be asleep. She quietly opened the front door and got in with the red head by her side.
"Where's your room?" Beca whispered to Chloe, who shrugged again, making Beca roll her eyes in frustration.
This was her second time in Chloe's home, it wasn't so different from the first time since everyone was asleep like the last time but the detail Beca forgot was Murphy, Chloe's golden retriever.
Murphy tackled Beca, Chloe falling with them as well. A loud THUD sounded as their bodies collapsed on the floor.
"Who's there?" A manly voice came from upstairs, Beca's anxiety reaching the highest level. She stayed still, the dog still onto her and Chloe.
The man, Chloe's father, turned on the hallway's light, revealing two teenagers lying on the floor with a dog shaking his tail. Chloe's father's expression relaxed a bit when he saw his daughter but he still didn’t know who was the other lady.
"Hello?" He said looking at Beca in the eyes.
Chloe's father was a tall man, he looked fit like if he lifted since he was 3 years old or something like that.
"She is Beca, a friend." Chloe introduced Beca to her father, Beca nervously sat up. She then realized she was still holding Chloe's waist.
Chloe looked at her father's expression before she threw up.
"We were at a party with The Bellas, hum a group of acapella singers...?" The man nodded. Beca couldn’t tell Chloe's father that his 18 year old daughter got drunk. "Chloe started feeling bad; I think she got a cold or food poisoning because we ate junk food. I brought her home so she could rest before she could get worse or some guy could take advantage of her state." Of course, Beca lied. "I didn’t want to wake you up, sir. I apologize."
A red headed woman in a sleeping robe came rushing from some door. "Rob, what's taking you so long? What was the noise?" The woman said before her eyes landed on Beca and then Chloe.
"Nothing bad." The man, now named Rob, sighed. "Chloe probably got the flu and her friend bring her home."
"Beca." The woman said, Beca nodded in confusion. How the hell did she knew her?! The woman flashed a gently smiled at her and walked downstairs towards her.
"I’m so glad to finally see your face." The woman helped Beca and her daughter to stand up, Chloe trying act sober and not to breathe near her mom so she wouldn't smell the alcohol. Meanwhile, Beca was confused. Glad to see my face? Beca thought.
"Thanks for taking care of her, Becky." Rob said with a little smile.
"Rob, her name is Beca. Forgive him, I’m Monica." Chloe's mom said.
"Nice to meet you guys, it was not big deal; I did what a friend would do." Beca said smiling at Chloe, their finally eyes meeting.
