Saturday, a day created to spend it on bed; away from people.
Beca woke up at the sound of her front door closing. "Satan's back, little hobbit." Caren said.
Beca smiled at the particular way her mom used to greet her. Swinging her legs to the side of her bed, she got to her feet and threw her arms over her head, letting out a loud groan as she stretched her limbs.
"Morning Satan." Beca said standing beside her mother.
"Morning? It’s almost half past one." Caren laughed. "Do you have any plans for today? We could eat something outside if you want."
Before Beca could agree, or actually talk, her phone buzzed. From: bossy blonde See you all at 2 at the park a block away from school.
Beca groaned at the text, her mother furrowing her eyebrows. "Who texted you?" she asked concerned.
"Aubrey." she shrugged. "I have a Bella bonding. I'm not going." Her mother's eyebrows got so high they were basically out of her face.
"The what?" Beca mentally slapped herself. You see, she never told her what the Bellas are.
Beca quickly left the kitchen, her mother following her behind.
"I may or may not have auditioned for a female acapella group." she said trying to hide her face with one of the pillows of the couch. She was sure she was about to die of embarrassment.
"My daughter an acapella singer?" Caren asked amazed. "MY DAUGHTER A SINGER? YOU SING?" of course she was happy for Beca, her daughter was finally trying new things, but this wasn't Beca kind of things. There must be a reason.
Beca nodded shyly. "Apparently."
Caren smiled proudly at her daughter. “How are you dealing with it? If you don’t mid me asking, Bec.”
“I’m doing better than expected.”
Caren nodded, still smiling. "What made you join it?" she asked. Beca tried to find an answer that her mother would believe but then, her mother risked the question. "Or who made you join it?" she asked moving her eyebrows up and down.
"Okay, I’m done." Beca got up from the couch and walked towards her bedroom.
She unblocked her phone and noticed she had a text from Amy.
From: Aussie Are you going short stuff?
Beca typed a 'nope' before blocking her phone and grabbing her laptop, placing her headphones on her ears.
As soon as Amy got her response, she texted the other girls of the group. 'Shorty plans on not goin. Do somethin.'
Aubrey was not in the mood to deal with Beca, if Beca didn't want to hang out with them, she shouldn't have joined the group. Aubrey was about to break her phone, when an idea popped in her head, she typed a text to the other girls.
If the horse doesn't go to the water, the water goes to the horse. ;)
Two in the afternoon, all the Bellas except Beca, were at the cold park.
"As you know, Beca plans on not coming-"
"And she won't." Stacie added. "She's stubborn, you know her."
"Well, we're going to her house and drag her out of her bed. We won't give up until she gives in." with this said, the 9 girls left in two groups, because only two of them grabbed their cars. Jessica, Amy and Chloe in Ashley's car.
Cynthia Rose, Lilly and Aubrey in Stacie's car. Ashley's car following Stacie's.
They stopped in front of Beca's house and walked towards her door.
The bell rang and, of course, Beca didn't hear the bell or her mom calling her to open the door. Caren was the one to open the door, revealing a group of girls behind it.
"We don't want any cookies, we already have 3 other groups of scout girls and-"
Stacie quickly cut her off. "Hi Caren."
"Oh hi Stace." she said giving a hug to the brunette. "I didn't notice it was you, you know I can barely see without glasses. Chloe? Is that you?" Chloe smiled and greeted the woman.
"What brings you all here?" Caren asked.
"We're the Barden Bellas." Aubrey started. Caren looked at Stacie, who nodded rolling her eyes like saying 'yeah, I’m in this group as well.' "and we're here to take Beca out for a while."
"In short words, we want to annoy Beca for a while." Stacie said.
"So you are asking for my permission to enter my house to bother my loved daughter on a Saturday so she'll hate me for life?"
They all slowly nodded, realizing how dumb their plan was.
"I love it, please come in. Stacie knows where her room is. I’m pretty sure Chloe knows as well." they all laughed and Chloe blushed slightly.
Silently, the girls tip toed to Beca's room. "Let me check if she's on her bed or her desk." Stacie said, taking a little mirror.
"What for?" Aubrey whispered.
"To scare her, duh." she smiled. She slowly opened the door, carefully trying not to make any noise. "Great she's with her headphones with her back to the door." she took off her scarf and motioned to the girls to stay behind her.
"Who wants to scare her?" Stacie asked.
"Not me." Aubrey shook her head. "Last time I did it she almost beats the s**t out of me." Chloe nodded agreeing.
"Anyone?" Stacie asked again handing her scarf. "Okay I go."
When Stacie was behind the brunette she quickly placed her scarf over her mouth and her arm over the brunette's eyes, and her hand grabbing Beca's left hand, making her jump, part of her mixing equipment falling to the floor.
Stacie turned Beca around in her chair. The brunette was wearing her red flannel joggers and a long sleeved black shirt.
"I know your scent Stace, it's not like we never shared clothes or slept together, I won't fight you, but I'll murder you if you broke my equalizer." Stacie was trying hard not to laugh.
"b***h I know your hands very well, let me go." Stacie silently asked Aubrey if she should let Beca know they were there, Aubrey told her to wait one second more.
"Stacie." Beca warned her standing up, moving the scarf from her mouth with her left hand. "Is this your way of telling me you want to repeat what happened last-"
Stacie knew what Beca was about to say, so she shushed her putting her other hand on Beca's mouth. Beca took the chance to turn around and pull Stacie to the ground with her legs, sitting on her.
"Hi Beca." Aubrey said, catching Beca's attention. Her eyes went wide.
"Dude." Beca glared at the girl lying underneath her. "What the f**k, mom?"
"Surprise mother fucker." Stacie said innocently.
"My pleasure." her mother yelled from downstairs.
"You were going to let me spill that?" Beca whispered to Stacie, slapping her friend on the arm. "What are you doing here?"
"We're serious about bonding." Aubrey said.
They all heard Beca mutter 'f**k' under her breathe.
"I guess you won't leave till I go out of the house." Beca sighed.
"Exactly." Aubrey replied.
Beca groaned and closed her laptop after saving the mix.
"Bec, I hope this isn't broken." Stacie was holding Beca's equalizer.
"Yeah me too." she snapped sarcastically.
"Why are we doing this anyways?" Beca asked irritated for the millionth time.
After giving Beca 5 minutes to get ready and a big fight trying to convince her to go with them, Beca gave in. They headed to the mall (yes, again. Beca was suffering.).
"Because we always bond before a performance, beside, I thought it would be a good idea to start Christmas shopping with you." Aubrey said looking at every shop they passed.
Everyone was talking with each other or laughing. But Beca was just walking behind all of them, not wanting to talk to any of them, especially to the red head or Stacie, who probably broke her equalizer.
At some point, they all went to different shops, Jessica, CR and Ashley to one; Stacie and Aubrey to other with Lilly.
Beca didn't see anything that called her attention and without noticing, she was outside alone with Chloe.
Beca side glanced at her, and Chloe caught her glancing at her direction, only letting out a chuckle that made a little smile form on Beca's face.
"Hi stranger." Chloe said softly.
Beca hasn't heard her voice in almost 3 days; she never thought she would miss it so much.
"Hey you." Beca said, not really looking at Chloe, but smiling.
Their little moment was broke by Amy, who came toward the girls telling them about something they NEEDED to see.
After almost 2 hours walking here and there, they decided to leave the mall.
"So, can we all go to home now?" Beca asked.
"Not you." Aubrey said happy, only pissing Beca more. "You tried to avoid the bonding, you're paying the price."
"How am I supposed to pay it?" she asked irritated. "Everybody left except for us." she said pointing at Chloe and Stacie as well.
"Your mom has the night shift, right?" Stacie asked.
"Yes...why?" as soon as she answered yes, she regretted it. "No."
"Pretty please." Stacie poured.
"Nah ah, no way." Beca said crossing her arms over her chest.
"What're you two discussing about?" Chloe asked.
Beca glared at Stacie. "Don't." she warned her.
"Sleepover at 8 at Beca's house." Stacie said.
"Okay, see you in an hour, then?" Aubrey asked Beca, but Stacie answered. "Yes."
Beca muttered a 'f**k you' to Stacie, she sent her a flying kiss before leaving
Beca took the bus back to her house. She sat on one of the seats on the back of the bus and started blasting music through her ear buds.
"You mad?"
She had to admit she almost died when somebody lied a written hand on her lap, then she noticed it was Chloe and she smiled at her friend's dorkiness.
"You could try talking, you know? That's how normal people socialize." she said taking her ear buds out of her ears.
"Somebody once told me that if I want to talk to somebody, to make sure she's not using headphones or ear buds, in this case." Chloe said.
"Well that person gives really good advices then." they both laughed.
Beca offered one of her ear buds to Chloe, who happily accepted it, they spent the rest of their not so long journey listening to some of Beca's mixes.
"Are you coming?" Beca asked standing up, pushing the 'stop' button. Chloe nodded.
"Why did you get mad?"
They were walking towards Beca's house when Chloe asked that.
"I really don't know. I get really moody sometimes and I tend to be the usual asshole I’ve always been." Beca shrugged.
"Don't call yourself that." Chloe almost muttered.
She decided to ignore that comment.
"The fact that you forgot that I had to wait for you PLUS the fact that you went with Tom was what bothered me." Chloe looked at her confused. "I mean, that's not the best replacement, you know?" she chuckled.
"I feel so bad for what I did. I’m sorry Becs."
Becs she repeated to herself. The word kept bouncing in her head.
"It’s ok." Beca shrugged.
"No, I know it’s not." Chloe said.
"Drop it, just leave that topic." Beca pleaded opening her front door. "I guess I'm giving you PJ's again." Beca said trying to lighten the mood.
"s**t I forgot the clothes." why was she even with Beca? She asked to herself. I didn't even have to come till 8 and I’m here 45 minutes earlier.
"It’s okay, it’s not like I've never gave you some clothes."
Chloe helped Beca tidy her house a little bit and ordered 3 pizzas for the night.
"Do you even have money?" Beca laughed.
"I don't need it." she winked at Beca.
Stacie and Aubrey arrived at Beca's house at 8 sharp and went to Beca's room.
"I'm pretty sure this one brings alcohol." Beca said pointing at Stacie.
"How dare you blame me like that?" Stacie said acting hurt. "But you know me so well, Mitchell." she took four bottles of vodka and other two of who knows what.
"Never have I ever?" Chloe asked.
"Never have I ever." Stacie stated.
