"BECAW, over here." Jesse said waving at Beca from one point of the canteen.
She walked past the wave of students and the thousand lunch tables in the cafeteria.
"Mind to yell it a little louder?" Beca said placing her food next to Stacie.
"Rude." Jesse answered acting sad. "Isn't that your lovely math partner?" He asked pointing at the redhead with his head.
Beca turned around and saw Chloe alone walking through the cafeteria, she seemed lost. "She's alone, mind if I call her?"
Stacie shrugged. "Same for me, I have to go anyways."
"Where?" Jesse asked. It sounded more like wure since he had his mouth full of food.
"Practice my song for my audition." She shrugged.
Beca shuddered at those words and decided to leave the table. "Hey red." She said tapping her math partner's shoulder.
"Oh hi Beca." she said with a huge smile.
"Hum so, my friends and I were wondering if you'd like to lunch with us...? I’m so sorry, that sounded lame."
Chloe laughed at Beca's comment.
"I’d love to, thanks." Chloe said. Beca walked her towards the table where Jesse and Stacie were discussing about something.
"Right Becs?" Stacie asked looking at her.
"Right what?" she said sitting down with Chloe, who was redder than her hair.
"That you'll audition for the Bellas with your super friend Stacie."
Beca laughed loudly; maybe the whole cafeteria heard her. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAno." She said giving a bite to her apple.
"Why not?" Chloe suddenly asked.
"Because singing is not my thing." Beca snapped back.
"Yeah sure." Stacie muttered. "Wait, aren’t you the co-captain of the Bellas?"
The taller brunette pointed her index finger at the red head in front of her.
Chloe nodded shyly making Beca’s eyes go wide. "That means you know..." Just before Beca could finish her sentence, somebody yelled Chloe's name. Beca knew that voice very well.
The blonde who yelled the red head's name was basically running towards her. Chloe stood up and received the hug from the blonde.
"Posen" Beca thought.
"Oh my god." Aubrey said in a high pitched voice that gave a head ache to Beca. "How have you been?"
"Pretty good actually." Chloe replied. "Beca's been showing me the school." That made the blonde's genuine smile disappear.
"Mitchell?" Aubrey asked. Chloe simply nodded.
"What's up?" Beca said looking uninterested taking another bite of her apple with one finger in her ear.
Aubrey dragged Chloe a little further from where Beca and her friends where. "What are you doing with her?"
Meanwhile, Beca was having her own mental breackdown.
"SHE'S THE CO-CAPTAIN OF THAT LAME GROUP?!" Beca asked turning around.
"Geez Beca, chill." Jesse said looking around.
"Yes, so?" Stacie replied.
"I’m kinda forced to join the Bellas." Beca said placing her head on her hands.
"You wouldn't be if somebody stopped being so friendly with the little flame." Stacie said looking at her nails.
"C'mon Bree, she's not that bad. She's not even bad to be honest." The red head said looking to Beca from over her shoulder.
Aubrey's jaw dropped. "Chloe you're my cousin, my best friend as well, we're supposed to hate the same people." Chloe raised her eyebrow after hearing what Aubrey said.
"Yeah well you didn't do the same the last time." Chloe muttered to herself not sure if Aubrey heard. "I think she's cool and I actually like her."
"You met her two days ago for pete's sake. How can you know if somebody is a good person when you met her tWO DAYS AGO?" Aubrey was starting to freak out.
"Okay, Bree." Chloe said holding the blonde's hands. "Calm. Down."
Aubrey did as Chloe told her and started to breathe.
"She'll audition for the Bellas."
Chloe was pretty sure that the whole country heard her cousin's laugh.
"What's so funny?"
"Mitchell. In the Bellas?" Aubrey laughed a little longer. "Oh it's for real." Chloe slowly nodded. "Weird because the hobbit doesn't sing, she even hates the Bellas. Did she tell you she will audition?"
"Well..." Chloe said. "I’m trying to convince her."
"Oh-kay that makes more sense." They stayed silent for a bit and then Aubrey continued. "You will try in vain though, and we don’t need her attitude in the group."
And before Chloe could ask, Aubrey was leaving. "I have to go Chlo, be careful with the hobbit."
"Hi Red." just in time Chloe thought
"Hi brunette." she replied trying to match Beca's tone.
"Nope. Doesn't sound good." Beca said walking towards her. "So I see you know Posen."
"She...she's my cousin." Chloe said looking to the floor.
"I feel sorry for you." Beca said with her signature smirk. "What?" She asked after seeing Chloe's look.
"She can be hard sometimes, But she's nice and a good friend." Beca hummed in response.
"sure." the brunette said.
"Anyways, are you doing something after school?" Chloe asked.
"I guess? Why?" Beca asked.
"Because today you're auditioning for the Bellas and I’m gonna be there to accept you." Chloe stopped in front of Beca's locker, smiling.
"HAAAAAthats's so not happening." Beca said moving Chloe aside.
"But the auditions are at 4PM, and we leave at 1:45PM today, we have like 2 hours before YOUR audition." She said making the word YOUR noticeable.
Beca rolled her eyes and closed her locker. "Anyways, why do you ask?"
"I REALLY need help with math and since you're my partner..." her tone started to fade waiting for Beca's response.
"Sure. Today at 2 then. No buts." she said leaving, not letting Chloe answer.
It was the last period, she had to put up with geography for 80 minutes and then she would be free.
"Hi Legs." Beca said sliding in the desk next to Stacie.
"What's up shorty?" She replied with a smile. "So...what's your deal with Mrs. Happiness?"
Beca shrugged. "She's my math partner and wants help and me to audition."
"So you're considering to audition?" Stacie asked with a glint of hope in her eyes.
"My answer is still a no." Beca said a little too loud for the teacher to hear.
"Mitchell." Mr. D’Amato pointed At her. "Since you were so interested in talking to your friend about the Asian continent. Would you like to tell us the capital of Sri Lanka?"
"Sri Lanka?"
The teacher nodded. "I've just said it."
Beca knew that country, she remembered it very well. She liked that country in particular because it took her more time to learn it.
"Sri jayawardenapurakotte." Beca said confident earning a few comments from her partners. "You can also call it Colombo, it’s your choice."
The professor was shocked, he was angry because he needed an excuse to send her to detention.
"Turn down for what." Some dude said.
"Touché, Mitchell." He said clapping at her.
The class passed by quickly for Beca. She decided to wait for her math partner outside.
Before she could leave the classroom, her best friend had taken her by the arm. "Dude how did you do that?" Stacie whispered yelled to her.
"Do what?" They excited the school and stopped near the parking lot where Stacie's car was parked.
"That capital, how could you memorize it when you were talking to me?" Stacie asked.
Beca was unsure about telling her, she then spotted a red point leaving the school. "I have my tricks." She simply said before jogging towards Chloe. "See you tomorrow Stace."
