Chapter 9

Me and Josh had no idea what they were all staring at. Maybe it was because i was in only a         t-shirt and he was in shorts or maybe it was because we were holding hands. Lucy's mouth hung open like what the f**k is going on with a fish shaped mouth.

"I'm just gonna go change" I say passing them all scurrying past.

Josh let go of my hand to stay back chatting to them. I tried to listen from the top of the stairs from what i could hear the were all ganging up on Josh. Making sure he wasn't messing me around. He better not hurt me again. Antony was asking how last night went. "That's none of your business mate" I heard him say while coming closer to the stairs.

"Josh, take it easy on her. Remember she is still hurting from everything you guys have done to her. You all put her through hell"

"I know" He huffed out. "Don't tell me about how much i've screwed up believe me i know" He was pissed of but at the same time he knew he deserved it too. I heard footsteps coming closer and i ran down the hall to my room as quietly as i could master. Walking into my closet i grabbed a towel to jump in a shower. Stepping into the bathroom i flipped on the switch and the shower head sprayed out water, leaving it to heat up as i walked back into the room for clothes.

Josh had just walked huffing and puffing to calm himself down. He was beating himself up. We were all getting onto him or like me pushing him away. It can't be helped though, no symphony from any of us for the things he's done. But i could see he was trying which is a start.

"Are you ok? walking past to grab some clothes.

"I will be" short and sweet. O..ok better give him some time to himself. Walking back to the shower room he stops in front of me. "Paige" He breathed out in barely a whisper. Placing his hands on my forearms and resting his forehead on mines. He took a few deep breath I guess he needed a minute to calm down and probably the best way for him to do it was with me. Some alpha's get so hot headed i thought to myself. He does have a short fuse so this didn't phase me much. I already knew this. although it brought a memory back when Josh as a really bad blow out and couldn't calm himself or wolf down. I vaguely remember him finding me and doing something similar to this but afterwards he told me to tell no one about it. I shook the thought away as soon as it came. This isn't the same is it? I questioned myself.

"How come it's taken you for me to run away for you to actually want me?" I asked out of the blue not believing i said it myself.

He sighed into my hair " I wasn't ready to have a mate if i'm total honest. Only Antony really knows this since you both when through the same kind of thing only with two parents, i only lost my mum" I moved us backwards towards the bed to sit down but instead he sat down and placed me on his lap and then i motioned him to carry on.

"I didn't ever want to go through what my dad went through, Yes i treated you badly. I pushed you away, tried to get you out of my head. Maybe it did take for you to leave for me to realize i'm a f*****g i***t. My actions were wrong and i do need you, i need all of you" He looked out the window towards the house on the isle then back to me. "I'm sorry" right then i knew he really was. Josh doesn't apologise to no one not even my brother. The look in his eyes were completely different to anything i've seen before. I actually felt bad for him.

"Josh i thought you hated me, or felt i was to much little your sister or something then you started bullying me, hating me.."

"I can't tell you how much i regret it all. I'll put this right i promise" putting his nose into my hair burying his face "Oh i know you will. Your have a long way to go to make it right" I gave him a peck on his cheek then grabbed my clothes and went for my shower.

When i came back out Josh was on the phone yelling.

"You mean i leave the pack for 2 f*****g days and there is rogues running around "Oh s**t, Now Alpha Josh is back and it is back to being the scary guy i remember or soo i thought until he noticed me, he walked over putting his arm around me and sat us on the bed.

He was barking orders and them left right and certain. He was going to have someone's head once he got back. "I'll be home in the morning get Jack and caleb in my office, I'll link you when i'm close" than he hung up.

"Are we going back?" Not feeling ready to do so but i know if he goes i'd have to go as well.

"Yeh..I'm sorry Paige I'd rather stay here and spend more time with you alone but we have issues back home.. Come on we need to find your brother" He took my hand and then we head down stairs.

We found Antony and Lucy out back near a campfire that was made. Few other pack members were there too. Antony notice us both coming out in a hurry and dashed towards us. Lucy noticed something was up and came running over too. She threw her arms around me squeezing me tight. Josh let my hand go and nod towards Ant. "Ok" i linked him back. He smiled as i finally unblocked him.

"What have you two been up to? eh. eh" Wriggling her eyebrows are me.

"Nothing i shoved her back gently. Just been talking but hey we need to pack up we are heading back at first light. Pack have reports rogue's on our territory. Josh is pissed just glad he isn't taking none out of me" That's until we get home i thought. Is he going to flip back when we get back there or is he going to still be this new Josh to me. Is he going to defend me when i need him. Punish those who do me wrong. I had so many thoughts flashing through my brain. I glanced over to him with panic across my face. He looked over looking concerned lifting a eyebrow. Antony turned to look and said something to him,.I couldn't make it out as Lucy started talking again.

They both walked back over to us and Josh use his right arm to pull me into him for reassurance. I c****d my head up to look at him "don't worry it will be ok" I looked and Ant he shrugged his shoulders at me. We said goodnight to them both and headed up stairs. This time i didn't mind Josh sharing my bed with me. Although he only tucked me in and kissed my head before heading for the door. "Josh" I pouted at him. He turned to look at me. "Yeah?"

"Where are you going?"

"I..I thought you didn't want to share a bed with me?" Raising a eyebrow with a questioning look..

I scooted over and patted the space beside me. "Don't get to use to it though" Giving him a smile.

"You know i'd wait until your sleeping and come back anyways right?"

"Yeah i figured but tonight you can stay" I say as he comes and get in next to me. He wraps me in his arms, my head facing his chest. I start to listen to his heartbeat and slowly start to close my eyes. He gently kissed my forehead before falling of to sleep too.
