The demon reached his hand out of the dark abyss into my chest. I screamed in pain and fell to my knees, tears spilling from my eyes. This was only half the price I had to pay. I looked up as I clutched my chest where only half of my heart remained and met eyes with the sinister glowing red orbs of the demon. He turned his head to look at his hand and I followed his gaze as my eyes fell upon the object in his hand, I had to turn away from the grotesque scene. Suddenly I felt suffocated as chains wrapped around the remainder of my heart left with me binding me to the contract. "Two years is what I'm giving you, if you wish to use the power given the remaining days will decrease. See you soon and enjoy your time." I shot up in my bed, another dream and another reminder that I don't have much time. I lifted my shirt and stared as the clock disguised as a tattoo ticked down my time, I placed my hand over it not feeling much of a heartbeat. My body already cold to the touch but it didn't matter anyway seeing as I was already half dead. It didn't bother me either way as I was determined to correct my mistake. My only regret was that I let her go when I realised I needed her most. I was going to fix it and treat her like the treasure that she is, even if she refuses to love me back.
