Blake's POV
It's been 5 days since I've gone back in time and I think I may have completely creeped Terry out with a slight change in my behaviour. I stopped cleaning and cooking for her sanity, but I also never picked on her again, and would offer to help her every now and then. I would set the table while she cooked, and when she did the laundry I would bring the laundry basket to her. It was small and subtle changes I've made but somehow they still appeared big enough to weird her out. I also spent most of my time in my room, due to our differing schedules we didn't get to interact with each other much, sad I know but today is different. Why you might ask well, Today was Monday and we have one class together every Monday. I walked in and spotted Terry sitting with her friends then slowly strolled towards her
*Flashback*
I smirked as my eyes fell on Terry, deciding to take the seat behind her, my friends followed. I kicked her seat and made dumb jokes, throwing in a few insults to Terry making my friends laugh at her. Everyone knew about our engagement, they also knew we hated one another. I could see how some of my friends felt uncomfortable with the way I treated her, but they didn't have the guts to stand up against me.
I valued my freedom above everything and having a fiance made me feel trapped and I hated every second of it. So I did what any guy would do and slept around to show Terry how much I hated being tied to her, and I hoped she would get fed up and call off the engagement so I made sure I always had a girl on my arm when we crossed paths, and today was no different. When the lecture was over I made sure I had the clingiest girl on my arm as I passed Terry who just rolled her eyes at me. It annoyed me that she took no interest in the things I did to get on her nerves.
*Present time*
I smiled when I saw Terry, and as usual chose the seat behind her. I kept quiet and just did my work, I felt eyes on me for quite some time and it was starting to bother me so I looked up and noticed that my friends as well as Terry were staring at me.
"What?" I asked, in genuine confusion, frowning at them. My reputation immediately had my friends turning away from me and doing their own work instead of answering me, choosing to avoid a fight with me. I was generally an outgoing person that got along with most people which made me very loveable, but I had a very short temper and was very easy to anger so they were afraid of me as well. After a while of staring at me confused, Terry turned back to the lecture.
Throughout the lecture I stole a few glances at her as she smiled and laughed softly with her friends so they didn't disturb the class. I loved her smile, noting that she never smiled for me before. Not even before I travelled back in time. So far since I've come back though I've been content with admiring it from afar.
When the lecture ended it was lunch time, and I ended up reaching for her hand just as she was leaving with her friend, What was her name Katherine or Kaitlyn I'm not actually sure. Anyway when I made contact, holding her hand she spun around to see who it was, but I felt the whole world slow down as she spun it was so ethereal I had to contain the smile that was threatening to erupt.
"I..." I said, still recovering from her beauty. I cleared my throat and tried again when I saw she was waiting for me to continue.
"Would you like to join me for lunch?"
She frowned, and I thought she was going to turn me down.
"Sure, I guess." She unanswered sounding unsure of herself.
"Wait-" Her friends tried to speak but Terry stopped her, giving her a reassuring arm squeeze.
"I'll catch up with you later, okay" She said, smiling at her friend, but the second she turned to me her smile faded and she replaced it with the usual stoney expression she had when she interacted with me. I won't lie, it did hurt me when she did it, but I was a jerk to her before so I deserved it.
The girl that I always had clinging on me walked up to me and tried to get my attention. "Sorry, not today" I turned her down while looking at Terry. I wanted to smile as I watched Terry's eyes widen in surprise.
"You're being really weird these days, are you sure you're okay?" She asked in a straightforward manner.
"Mhm" I hummed while I ordered my burger and Fries from the cafeteria lady.
Once we got our food, we found a table and sat down. I began to eat in silence.
"So, what do you want?" I heard her ask me, probably thinking I had an ulterior motive for asking her to eat with me.
"I just want to enjoy lunch with my fiance" I answered, then took a bite and chewed slowly to show her I was serious.
I watched as Terry bit her bottom lip, probably thinking too hard about it. After a while her eyes lit up with an idea and she reached across the table for my hands. I suddenly remembered that my body temperature had dropped to that of a dead body so I quickly retracted my hands avoiding her touch.
"Are you sick?" She asked, concerned. She was such a caring person, she showed so much concern even for those she couldn't stand.
"No"
She frowned at my answer, but didn't say anything more about it. I watched as she ate her food quickly in silence. I finished eating, having only finished half of my food, and decided to stare at her admiring every feature of her. I never paid close attention to her before, but now I wanted to commit every detail to my memory, her brown doe eyes, plump pink lips, flawless skin, she was an absolute masterpiece, just so breathtaking. I just wish she would smile at me so I can see those beautiful dimples.
I know I would'nt get to see it, and I deserved it for tormenting her the way I did, but I appreciated everything I could get now, and being in the same university meant I could appreciate her more every day.
"Hey Terry, I'm glad we're able to study together in the same university"
