Chapter 11

Gowri POV.

Days were rolling fast. The surroundings became familiar to me now. I can remember and recognize some of the villagers. When I got to market some of them communicates with me. They memorize m childhood, memories with them. They also compare my small being to now. They compliment that I have grown so soon. And my appa should search a perfect groom to marry me very soon. Typical village people. 

On one fine Sunday morning, as I did my morning chores lately and came down to have my brunc. Thank time my muma and grandma asked me about my opinion about marriage. I was shock. I thought my family gave their ears to the people's talk.

Uma: Shona what to do think about your marriage?? Do you have anyone in your life?? If you love any one. You can tell us. We don't make any indifference. You know that right. I know you share everything with us. But you may feel hesitation in these kind of things. 

Gowri: muma why are you asking this all of a sudden?? And I don't have any one......like that. I went to city to complete my education not to fall for any Romeo.

Grandma: Shona you are the only one we have. We want you to be happy and well settled in your life before we die. You are our happiness. Everything is completed. You are well educated as your wish. Even you got your dream job and made us proud. Now we only want you to get married soon. See child. We can't be with you in every steps of life. Don't know what future as allotted for us. So we are thinking tk search a groom for you.

Gowri: grandma don't talk like that you are not going anywhere. you will always be with us. Mumma tells her na not to talk like this I will do whatever you say. But don't talk like that. I know whatever you think and do it will be for my betterment only. You guys all I have and I don't want you to be sad because of me.

Grandma: so only Shona we want you to get married soon. We had received a proposal recently. They are pestering us from few days. So we wanted to ask you first before taking any decision.

Uma: we just got the proposal, not any approval. We want you to decide. You think and tell your decision to us son. We don't want to give you stress. Your wish is our happiness.

Gowri: ok mum I will think and tell you my decision.

So now here I am in the mid of fields thinking about my future. I want to spend my life with my family I can't stay away from them. But about grandma's wish, I am thinking either I did a mistake by coming here. No it can't be. 

One or the other day I should get married why not now? So let me get ready. First I should confirm the boy and his family as I am staying in the village with my family I don't want to move away from them. I should have asked about the proposal. Atleast I should have known from which place they are.

I went to the home and took some rest. In the evening when everyone was present as usual for snacks. I thought it was the right time to talk and know about the proposal. After getting lots of guts to talk without any hesitation I said all.

Gowri: mumma I am ready to marry whoever you guys show, but I want to stay with you guys I don't want to leave you and go far. I came from the city only to stay my life here again I don't want to go back. I want to stay near by so I can visit you guys whenever I feel. So whoever is the boy I want him to be from our native only.

Muma: the boy is none other than the sarpanch's grandson Vijay. They are just few meters away from us. And I am sure you can visit us every Saturday and Sunday. So is it yes from your side. Can we convey them your decision. They even called today to know our decision.

I was shocked to hear that he seems to older than me and the opposite of me. Are we going to lead a happy life, are we going to together.

He is always in his arrogant look and doesn't give any s**t to others.

Grandma: I know Shona what are you thinking. Believe me, you will be happy with him.

Mahesh: I know that you are marrying only for your grandparents wish. But take your decision appropriately.

Grandpa: you will be happy with Vijay, due to some circumstances he is like this. Your innocence and care may change him. Think positively. If any hurdles came in future you should face then confidential not to seat ideal.

Gowri: I believe you guys. I agree to marry him. You may proceed with marriage rituals.

I ran from thereafter saying all were happy especially my grandparents. Soon the phone calls were made and wises was heard.

After few days sarpanch's family came to my home to see me, but Vijay was not there. But his Amma assured that he had an important work so he is out of town and he is already agreed to marry me.

All his family members became familiar to me I feel comfortable with them but I also afraid to talk with dadu.

All his siblings also introduced themselves to me Rahul, Ronak, Padma, Radha Manoj, and Meena. Ronak kept making a video of me he used to focus on me more telling me to smile a little and give a nice look.

I was happy with them we chatted a few times and became friends, even though I didn't talk much only them described their brother's behavior, taste, etc. I simply listen to them about my path (hubby).

Soon date of marriage is also fixed to next month as he is out of the village the engagement function also will be held before marriage. I wish he attend the marriage. After all it's his own marriage.
