Chapter 5

PAST

Lying down at the dark corner of the room was Jade,her little hands and legs were tied up,her mouth sealed up.

The roof had holes that allowed water from the outside world pour in,that had been the only thing that kept her alive since she was brought here,now even that water can’t go through her sealed up mouth.

There were visible bruises all over her skin and dried up blood on the side of her head as a result of Grayson slamming her head on the wall.

Just then Grayson opened the door and came in,he looked at Jade with nothing but contentment ,he walked up to her and made her sit up to face him.

The seven year old Jade screamed in pain that arouse from her waist,but that scream couldn’t even escape her throat.

“We are about to contact your father now honey,just a little more time and you won’t be so useless anymore” he laughed to himself while Jade shook her head.

“You don’t want that?.,,hmm,,I’m sorry but it’s either that or this” he said then his hands moved to touch her inappropriately before he could commit more sin one of his men came in to pass an information to him.

“We’ve contacted him” the man said.

“Good” Grayson stood up cleaned his hands and left.

Jade continued her little sobs on the floor.

Outside the abandoned building was a guard observing the surroundings,when a little boy appeared from nowhere.

“Mr do you want to try out my cookies?” The boy asked innocently.

“No,now leave”the guard hissed.

“I also sell the number two”the boy winked.

“What number two?”the guard asked in confusion.

The little boy opened his jacket for him to see some weeds stocked inside.

“How do you have those?”the guards asked checking whether he was being set up.

“If you don’t want them I’d have to take my leave Mr”he turned about to leave when the guard asked him to wait.

“ how much ?”

“100 dollars sir”the boy answered.

“Hope it is strong?” The guard realizing how stupid it was to ask a kid that question decided to stop.

”here” he gave him the money.

Few minutes later the guard had passed out,sitting on the floor with his body resting on the wall.

It turned out the not so innocent boy had crushed excess amount of beta blockers inside the weed,causing the guard to pass out or even died.

He snuck inside and quickly located the room as it was only two rooms in the entire building.

He opened the room slowly,seeing Jade at the corner he walked towards her.

“Shush,I’m here to help you” he said then quickly untied her.

Jade couldn’t see who it was but quickly got up.

He helped her out of the building, they started running,when they got to a safer place he let her run ahead while he walked at her back.She eventually lead him to a beach where she saw a huge rock where she hide and started crying.

He allowed her cry for sometime before disturbing her,he couldn’t stand her tears any longer.

After she explained how everything started Jade felt a little bit relieved.

“Do you want to go back home?”

“No” Jade muttered.”He will come back again”

“Where would you stay then?”

“I don’t know “ she bent her head on her knees

“You can stay with us if you want”he fumbled with his fingers.

“Thank you ” Jade smiled.

The little boy then introduced himself

“I’m Jade,my mummy calls me jady”

“Cool” the little boy said

“Can I ask you a question?” Jade asked.

“Yeah go on”

“Why is your hair white like an old man?” Jade blinked innocently,it made the boy laugh hard.

“It’s not white it’s silver,I’m not old ” the boy laughed.

“Oops”

“My mum said it’s genetics,she doesn’t have it neither does my dad”

“Why?”

“She says I’m special”the boy looked at her,other kids would have laughed and insulted him but Jade smiled and nodded.

“Let’s be friends” the boy stretched his hands.

Jade hesitated for a split seconds but later accepted.

They both got up and he lead them towards his house.

“Thanks for saving me “ Jade said.

PRESENT

“I’ve gotten all the information I needed” Kaden said on the phone as he drove again in an insane speed.

“Should I arrange your jet ?” The person on the other end asked.

“Yes,but I have scores to settle” Kaden said while he hung.

He drove past a garbage truck who packed at the front of Rowan’s house.

Packing his car close to the fountain,he alighted the car.

Two trash collectors greeted him as they rolled the trash can away.

Kaden ignored them and continued walking,when he got,he closed the door behind him, then brought out his phone from his side pocket.

“Kill those pesky trash collectors,leave one of them..and the silly girl in the can”

“Yes sir”

Kaden walked towards the stairs heading towards the bedroom,opening the drawer he took out a document then left the room.

Leaving the house Kaden took a piece of paper and wrote on it.

“she’s with me,don’t look for her”

Kaden entered another of his car packed outside Rowan’s house that had a driver sitting on one end and his guard sitting on the other and a unconscious Jade in the back sit,her head resting on the window.

“Where are we going now sir”

“Casa” he spoke in Italian.

“With her?”

“Yes,,is there a problem?” The already irritated Kaden made a mental note of disposing him.

The driver drove the car towards the airport.

Jade started waking up,mumbling incoherent words as she moved her head from side to side,she gasped and her eyes flew wide open.

Taking in her surroundings her eyes landed on Kaden who was busy typing speedily on his phone,seeing her look at him he stopped then place the phone back on his lap.

“You did this!!” “Why!!”she screamed.” How dare you try to chock me!” She raised her hands about to slap Kaden,which he interrupted few seconds away from his face.

Dragging her hands,he brought her closer to him as he said “no man alive has ever done that successfully,be wise”

Struggling to get her hands free from his she kicked and shouted “let me go,leave me”

Kaden let her hand go and sat properly back on his.

She started hitting the back of the drivers sit shouting “stop the car,stop it” seeing that nobody was planning on listening to her she unlocked the door ready to throw herself out,when she felt a hand on the side of her neck,under the ear where her neck starts to slope into her shoulder,her carotid artery was hit. With that she fell back into the car while Kaden’s guard came down to close the door.

“Feisty” Kaden whispered into the passed out Jade’s ears.
