Gina
Jeffrey's pov
When I first met her, I knew she was the one for me. The first time we met was when I went to her father's house to see him concerning a story I wrote days before. He had been impressed with my work, and had asked me to stop by his house.
That was when she stepped foot inside the house. She had long jet black hair, pretty long legs and the perfect body to die for. She has a slim body but still has curves which shows how heavy her backside is. She smiled at me the very moment she laid her eyes on me.
I got up from my seat and greeted her. Her father then used the opportunity to introduce us.
"Jeffrey, meet my daughter, Gina Brown. Gina, meet Jeffrey. I am sure you already know him."
"Yes I do, father. I have seen some of his undercover investigations and reports, and I must say, I am very impressed." She flashed me one of the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen in my entire life.
"Thank you. And I have seen your magazine. I always look forward to reading the next article," I say to her nervously, not knowing if she was going to appreciate my words.
She just smiled at me and sat down on the chair, beside her father. Her father and I sat down and continued with what we were discussing.
She was smiling throughout our discussion and was adding her own compliments here and there. I stole glances at her each time she spoke and could not even take my eyes off her. I did not even realize she had stolen my heart at that moment.
After I had left their big mansion, I drove straight to my house and called my best friend, Frank. He answered after the first three rings.
It was already nine in the evening but I still did not feel exhausted in any way.
"You do realize it's late and we have a big day tomorrow with the investors. Can't whatever you have to say wait?" Frank said on the other end of the line. I knew he was sighing and rolling his eyes dramatically as he said this.
I just laughed at my own imagination. "It's not too late to tell you about the girl I met today. You should see her. She is so beautiful. She has a very cute smile and a very lovely personality. And she has the perfect body any woman would die to have and any man would want by their side."
"So to cut everything short, you finally have a girl you like. Finally! I thought you were going to die as a bachelor. Anyways, what's her name? Do I know her?" He said happily.
It was my turn to roll my eyes now. Frank always had a way of ruining a surprise. I guess he knows me too well and that he has become too comfortable around me. Maybe that is why I don't even need to tell him anything. He already gets to know them before I even start to open my mouth.
"It's the boss's daughter. I don't know if you know her. Her name is Gina."
"Gina? Gina Brown? Did you just say the boss's daughter? Of course I know her," he sounded disappointed, prompting me to ask him the question in my mind.
"Why do I feel like you are no longer happy about this?"
"Well first of all, Gina is not a girl I think you can handle. She is beautiful, yes, but she has a reputation that precedes her. Listen my friend, I know she is the first girl you have ever liked and wish to be with, but she is not the girl for you. Trust me."
"How do you know this? I am not sure you have really met her. Because the girl I met today can't be who you say she is." I did not know if I was trying to convince myself of this or was just trying to convince him.
"I won't ever lie to you. You know this. Gina is not the girl for you. Okay, do you remember that incident that happened at that night club downtown? The one in which a fight broke out between two guys?"
I nodded. I knew that incident very well. I remember I was still at work when our news anchors reported about the matter in the evening news.
"Yes I do. What about it?"
"Well I'm going to let you in on a secret. The reason that fight broke out was because those two were challenging each other on who gets to take the girl home. And that girl is none other than the boss's daughter, Gina Brown. She had managed to get those boys to fight over her just to have some fun."
I frowned over the new found information. "How come I never knew of this? And how come you knew what the reason behind the fight was?"
"Um, duhh! I am the editor-in-chief of our newspaper. I know a lot of things."
I just felt so stupid right then. Frank definitely knew about this because of his position.
"So, how come no one knows of this? How come the news portals and the tabloids did not carry on with the story?"
"Because her father, our boss and the director of Brown's media group, made it go away. Please, don't get into her mess. You don't deserve to be with someone like her. I am not saying this to belittle or judge her. But you, my friend, deserve better."
I felt sad. I had just found out something sad about the girl I liked. She had captivated my mind in ways I never thought it could happen.
I stayed awake throughout the night thinking about what Frank had told me about her. She is rich and has connections. She is beautiful and can have any man she wants. Maybe I should forget her like Frank said and move on with my life. But, I just could not take my mind off her. I longed for her even more. She was definitely driving me crazy with all these thoughts.
It's been six years now since we met and have been close friends ever since. I try to assist her whenever she needs me and do my best to make her happy. Throughout these years, I have gotten to know her. She has become even wilder than she used to be. She attends parties every night. And sleeps with different men.
How do I know this? Well, I have always helped her find ways to get the men out of her house whenever they were proving difficult and did not want to leave.
Did my love for her die? No, of course not. Instead, it grew. I know. She always hurt me with her lifestyle and her choices. But, she only saw me as a friend and nothing else. Even though I wished we could be more.
Because of the love I have for her, I decided to do something I know I might regret later, for her. And that decision, changed my life forever.
