LANDON'S POV I need to get my head straight. The kiss with Clarissa keeps circling back in my mind, like a f*****g record stuck on repeat. I can’t shake the way her lips felt against mine, how her body pressed so close, the heat that was way too intense, way too real. What the hell am I doing? This is supposed to be an act. Just a contract. But every time I try to push her out of my mind, she’s there, tangled in my thoughts. I rev my bike. The engine roars beneath me as I speed through the streets. I'm not really going anywhere. I just need to get out. I need noise, a distraction. A few turns and a couple of streets later, I pull up outside a bar.
