Amullette's POV
Amullette felt a sick pulling in the pit of her stomach.
“Why?"
“He felt the Universal was closing in. He told me that I should distance myself from your family to avoid getting tangled up in the scandal. At the time, I thought it was the right thing to do. At most I thought, he would be arrested and then the dust would settle and we would be able to pick up again once I explained it to you. But then…"
“The invasion," she finished for him.
“Well, first Devestion and then the invasion," he corrected with a grimace. She smiled at the obvious jealousy.
“So, what did you learn from all of this?"
“To never let the woman I love go, under any circumstances."
Amullette smiled at that answer. “So, when do you want to get married?"
“Whenever you're ready," he answere
