Amullette swallowed over a knot that had formed in her throat. “Kroan, I…" She paused. “I've never…" She trailed off and it took a moment for him to fill in the rest.
“But you said you lived with… and were engaged to…" Kroan said.
“Kroan, I was only sixteen when the colony was invaded. Vince only saw me as a kid that needed protecting. And Devestion and I didn't."
“Oh," she could feel him tense up a little. “I will be gentle."
