Lost Hope

The echoing on the machines she'd been attached to had echoed what my hearing told me. A straight line making a constant screeching sound reflected my worst fears.

They laid her flat and the nurse jumped on top of her pushing in her chest. The other nurse used a bag to push air into her lungs. They kept going in tandem. 

I could feel her wolf crying and begging, while my wolf screamed. After a few minutes the machine picked up a brief beep. They kept going. The beeping caught on and her heart was beating again. The doctor that had rushed in gave a sigh of relief and began doing a full examination. 

I was asked to leave, but really I could only go outside the door. The fear in me was palpable keeping the staff a ways away from me. My packmates showed up a couple hours later and stayed the night with me. I was told they had rushed her into surgery. She had a lung being punctured by a rib, multiple fractures, and significant blood loss. I couldn't breathe feeling the pain she was in. The police showed up sometime later after getting wind of this incident. The doctors reports showed many other abuses. Megan and her crew were identified right away, but I knew nothing would come of it. The Dean showed up after catching wind of the attack. I never wanted to end someone as bad as I do him. He should have protected her, instead he damned her. My mates tried to comfort me and one brought me food, but I wasn’t particularly hungry, just nauseous, in pain. 

After an eternity the doctor came out. He was covered in her blood and I could smell her on him. I tried to listen to the list of damages that were repaired. I just want to get to her. He said I could wait with her and she would be awake when she chose to be. My wolf hated the silence of her room. It was echoing in correlation with her heart beat. She was gorgeous even covered in bandages, tubes, and casts. She is my world, but now I have to wait for her to realize it.
