It's Not Your Fault- Liz

Tears rush down my face as I watch my mates heart breaking. This wasn’t his fault if anything he saved me. I know the pain of not having a mate must have sucked for him too. I’m about to say that when a nurse appears. 

“How are you doing hun?”

 I thought about lying and saying I am fine to get out of here, but his eyes narrowing at me tell me I should tell the truth. 

“I hurt alot.” I saw the flash of pain in his eyes again, but know he's just waiting on the nurse to solve the problem.

 “As a shifter you burn through pain medication at an incredibly fast rate making this not an option. I am however going to give you a sedative to sleep some of these injuries off and allow time for your body to heal.” The nurse turns toward Calvin.

 “I know you are an Alpha, but visiting hours are over, say goodbye and head out now.” He stares down at the nurse as she takes in all 6’4” of him. “Mate. I stay.” 

The nurse reels back “ I did not realize you were mates, my apologies, I will have a cot brought in for you.”

 The sedatives she gave me are dragging me down. 

I panic as I feel him move away. The heart monitor gives my panic away. He quickly grabs my hand as the blackness takes hold again.
