Part one: Birth and Death go hand in hand
Seattle, Washington. Present Day:
The woman crawled to his broken body and set his head in her lap. Tears freely fell down her cheeks as she looked at him, blood oozing from every part of him. She ran her fingers through his snowy white hair, begging him to come back to her. His amber eyes looked up the ceiling of the apartment fixed and unseeing. He was gone and he wasn’t coming back.
She looked up at the other man standing before her and growled. The dark angel smirked at her his black wings folded behind him. Triumph was written across his face. She was his target now, and she was weakened. She slowly stood and faced him, ready to fight. To destroy him was her purpose, now more than ever. He had taken too much from her. And he would have the devil to pay for it…
Alexandria, Egypt 3,000 years before the birth of Christ
Screams rang throughout the palace in the early hours of the morning as the laboring woman sat straight in her bed. The contractions were becoming more powerful as they drew closer together. It would not be long now before her prince made his way into this bright beautiful world. The midwife had just arrived and was whispering encouraging words in her ear. The rest of the Harem was now awake and watching her with anticipation as she brought Pharaoh’s first child to this life. One of the women sent a servant to go and fetch him.
It wasn’t long until Pharaoh arrived, his barren queen at his side, looking sour at having been disturbed from her slumber. Pharaoh went to the young woman’s side and took her hand. He whispered in her ear something that made her smile. Sweat poured from the woman and she could feel her heart flutter and fade as each contraction ravaged her slender body. Each hour felt like an eternity as her body strained and grew weaker. The sun was now high in the sky and the heat of it bore down upon her, she was so tired. Her heart beat now barely there.
Finally she heard it, the soft cooing cry of the new life that had entered the world. She smiled weakly and collapsed back her life leaving her.
“Anubis has come for her, your Majesty.” The old midwife said solemnly looking up at him.
“But a daughter takes her place.”
She handed the man the small babe with a smile. He took her and studied her with awe. The girl was small, her skin was pale and bright as moonlight. Sapphire blue eyes stared up at him with what he could have sworn was mischief gleaming in them. A small tuft of silver hair covered her perfectly round head. He smiled with love at the child and held her close to him.
“My Anuxsous.” He whispered with love and carried the child from the room.
The Queen growled has she watched the scene unfold before her. Envy etched across her face. This child was just another thing to draw her husband’s attention from her.
