I understood he was not letting me go that easily, but I must make the best of whatever opportunity I had. My heart was beating against my ribs, as I moved in the shadows, all my senses on the alert, awaiting the dreadful trap. I have learned not to underrate him. He is always a step ahead of me, always ahead of me, ever before I had thought of it myself. But tonight felt different.
