A New Hope

Chapter 16

Its hard to believe that I was shot in the head and dead for five hours, yet some how alive again. The others in the cell said they could feel i wasn't truly dead and carried my limp body to safety even though the silver constantly burned them.

When I woke up I didn't have a mark on me, There was no sign that I was dead, just malnourished. I woke up feeling confused, but safe. As if I just woke up from a horrible dream.

I shared visions with Gabriel before joining the others. They overwhelmed with their excitement and love towards. People I've never seen in person or as human, but somehow they were drawn to me. I could only be thankful to my fellow escapees.

After I finished eating we all just sat in the theater watching movies until we fell into a comfortable slumber. We were finally safe and free of that hell hole, but it still felt safer sharing a room to sleep.

Greg and Holly were enjoying their safety in a different way and Alice said we shouldnt expect to see them for a few days.

"Holy s**t! Guys look!" Sherry yelled out pointing ahead of us at the wreckage of a ship.

A day and a half passed since we got onto the yacht. David quickly found out everything about the ships ownership and purpose, it appeared as if the owner was completely unaware of the extra activities and there was nothing to incriminate him. With no reasonable cause for authorities to take action, Gabriel decided they would hire mercenaries to take the ship by force.

As we stared at the debris floating in the water I had a dreadful feeling. Those fuckers got away and destroyed any evidence of the vile things they did to us on the ship.

"I got to call this in" Sherry shook her head and walked into the cabin.

"As happy as I am to see that ship destroyed... how are we going to find them now?" Robert asked Alice beside me who was pinching her nose.

"There has to be something, something to tie the crew to the ship..." I muttered in disbelief, knowing Gabriel was watching through my eyes.

"Its okay Hope, we'll find another way" I heard Gabriel's calming voice in my head.

"At least those poor wolves won't be in pain anymore" Jared sighed.

We stood in silence as we sailed passed the rest of the debris, all lost in thought of the month of fear and pain we barely escaped.

Gabriel and Max wanted to meet us out on the water but David advised against it. The likelihood of us being watched was high. Our captors were stupid, but smart enough to realize the wolves were smart enough to plan an escape. Even if they didn't realize they turned from Alice not their injections.

The three days it took to get back to land had Alice and I on edge, everyone else was content to be safe. Aware that they couldn't reach out to family until they could handle their wolves. Liz also suggested waiting until we found out more about our captors before any of them left the compound, they could be watching their families waiting for them to make contact.

When we finally got to Grays Harbor city to dock it was dark. We could see a crowd of people waiting for us. Alice and I were beside ourselves standing arm and arm, Anne clinging to Alice's other side. It was easy to spot Gabriel and Max out of the crowd pacing while they waiting for the yacht to get close enough to board.

Everyone on the yacht were confused to feel my excitement to see Gabriel so strongly, but enjoyed the happiness that came with it. The men and some of the girls were in house coats because Sherry and Liz only had small bags packed when they originally set sail.

As soon as Gabriel could he ran to me, picking me up in his strong embrace. I wrapped my legs around his waist and kissed him fiercely. He broke the kiss and just stared into my eyes, tears of happiness falling from both our eyes.

"I love you Hope" he whispered softly kissing me.

"I love you too Gabe" I whispered back.

"Wooooo!" Jared shouted making everyone turn their gaze to him and laugh.

Everyone's cheeks were wet with tears, like our reunion was as sweet for them as they were for us.

"Hope the pack really wants to meet you" Gabriel told me looking at the anxious new faces watching us. "Like almost dying to" he chuckled.

"Well our little sea pack seem to feel the same about you" I pointed out looking at the others.

He put me back on my feet and gave me another kiss before letting go. Immediately we were swarmed with smiling faces and hugs from people we never met, but seemed to adore us despite that.

Gabriel ran to Hope and embraced her, every single eye was on them, except for Anne, Max, and I.

Max charged us with such speed that he almost knocked Anne and I over, before picking us both up. Anne didn't flinch from his touch, but smiled and rested her tiny head on his shoulder while we shared a passionate kiss.

"Alice I missed you so much!" he breathed between kisses. "I love you, I love you, I love love love you!"

"I love you too babe, I never want to be separated again" I cried to him.

"Never baby" he kissed my forehead and gently put me down so he could craddle Anne in his arms.

"And you must be Anne" he smiled down at her.

Anne shyly looked at his shoulder before meeting his gaze and just stared at him for a moment.

"Are you my new daddy?" She finally spoke making Max smile even bigger.

"If you want little one, that would make us very happy" he beamed down at her and she threw her arms around his neck.

Max pulled me in with his other arm and squeezed Anne and I closer to him and I could feel him chuckling.

"You know I felt our bond change and thought you were with child... I didn't expect our little angel to be this big already!"

After many hugs and happy tears were shared, we all loaded up into an entourage of vehicles. David and two others tailed us to make sure we weren't being followed to the compound.

I looked over at Gabriel's handsome face and the beautiful smile glued to his face. Max, Anne, and Alice shared the back seat looking like the perfect family.

"I'm so happy to have you back my love" Gabriel said giving my hand a little squeeze.

I was tracing the tattoos on his arm with my free hand, the electricity between us was almost over powering. The lust was barely manageable, but missing him so much I couldn't keep my hands off of him.

"I missed you more than I missed the sun" I sighed, making Max scoff in the back seat.

"What?!" Alice and I said together.

"Uhhm well...Gabriel?" Max turned our attention to him making him sigh.

"Really Max? Now I have to tell her if we want to have a peaceful drive back." I looked at him puzzled.

"Well baby, when you were gone I found out I was a werewolf, but stronger, faster, and in more control. I can also command the pack and project images to them, which is not normal. So after some research the only thing that made sense was that you kind of have the soul of the moon goddess." Alice got quiet and I started laughing.

Gabriel looked at me with his icy blue eyes and a serious look on his face until I stopped.

"Well your the one whose exceptional how does that make me a goddess?" I gawked at him making him smile again.

"Because our mate bond. See Luna has put herself on earth many times before to be closer to the sun god, her Sol. This time she lucked out and found him in me." he spoke softly to me and kissed my hand.

"So thats why she could get into my head and the survivors while human, not because of the drugs? And the bond?" Alice asked Max.

"Yeah that was all Hope and not the drugs, I mean we think the drugs may have kick started it because Gabriel marked her while he was still half werewolf" Max shrugged looking at Alice.

This was old news to them and no longer held any shock value, if werewolves existed why not gods? But me a god, I lived a normal life with nothing extraordinary about any aspect of it.

"But I don't get the bond, we aren't mated to everyone only eachother and I like you guys, but I'm not drawn to you" I looked back at Alice and Max with an apologetic look.

"Well we already have a pack bond and what we've been through together Hope is a strong bond on its own. But I dont know it feels like the mate bond without lust. And like you out rank us more than any alpha could." Alice explained putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah like Gabriel can just think of wanting to see me, not even a command and I come running. In a panic because he needs to reeeeallly work on that!" Max laughed making Gabriel roar with laughter.

"Wait so your saying I could do the same thing?" I asked looking at Gabriel surprised.

"Yeah, we think once I turn you into a proper werewolf you'll be more powerful than me and probably have a few more tricks up your sleeve." he said sweetly.

Even after all that I've been through the thought of turning into a werewolf terrified me, what if my powers killed someone, what if I drove people insane with my thoughts. What if what the injected me with still turned me into a monster? What if -

"Woooah! Calm down Babe, Hudson is going to work with you every step of the way. He usually works with newborns and regular first shifts, but he is the best and we won't let anything bad happen." Gabriel comforted me as everyone in the car felt my panic.

"Its scary Hope, but its not as scary as the boat was" Anne softly cooed to me as she unbuckled her seat belt and put her arms around me. "If I can do it, you can"

"Oh Anne, your the sweetest and strongest girl in the world" I squeezed her little arms with my hand.

"Hudson is going to be excited to work with you Anne, I can already tell your gonna give us all a run for our money!" Max boasted to Anne as she buckled back up.

"Why do you say that Daddy?" making max smile even bigger.

"Well little one the last time a child turned into a wolf was thousands of years ago."

"So I'm special?" she asked sweetly.

"In so many ways!" Alice beamed at her.

Gabriel and Max packed a backpack full of snacks and sandwiches and us girls devoured the whole thing along the ride back, Anne even growled at Max when he tried to take a pack of m&ms, she gave him a tiny handful before eating the rest.

Even in the dark the beautiful west coast forests were breath taking with giant cedars and so many different kinds of ferns. It wasn't long before we left the highway and took an old forestry road heading further into the woods.

We passed through the compound gate and shortly came to a clearing with a huge storage building. There was a lot of campers scattered around and we could see a few lodges nestled into the woods.

Gabriel jumped out and opened my door for me, pulling me out into him and kissing me passionately.

I could feel the electricity with his every touch and my core was burning up. I let out a little moan and could feel him tense up then sigh.

"Not yet baby" he chuckled as he broke the kiss. "A lot of the pack has gathered to welcome you guys home."

We waited for the others to get out of their vehicles and gather around us, before walking around the storage building.

I stopped short and gasped, hearing others gasp as well. There was fairy lights set up for a walk way and strung up in the trees. Two huge canopies stood on either side of the path with long tables underneath them lined with flowers and colorful lights. At the end of the path was a huge lodge and infront of it must have been over a hundred people.

"Welcome home!" Max shouted to us and the crowd cheered as we all walked towards them.

I think I got hugged by every person their, some crying in happiness that I was safe, the others got a very warm welcome as well and were brought inside by a smaller group of the pack. They turned the whole inside of the large lodge into a buffet and bar.

The nine of us stood in awe at the endless amounts of food.

"Well we knew you guys would be hungry, but we didn't know what your favourite meals were so we just got EVERYTHING!" Cassie looked like she was going to explode with excitement and happiness. "Bon appetite!"

I thanked her and wandered through the tables of food in a daze, making Gabriel carry a second plate for me to load up. We went and grabbed a seat outside with the others then everyone else grabbed food and the tables filled up around us.

"What are you staring at?" I asked Gabriel as he watched me finish off my second plate.

"If you keep eating like that you'll be back to your old weight in no time" he chuckled but also looked upset at how thin i had gotten.

"Mmmm you'd think all our stomachs would have been shrunken, but it feels like I need to catch up on all the meals I missed at once. I loved the visions I had of you eating or drinking a big glass off milk, I could faintly taste it and almost feel full when I woke up"

"You had a lot of visions of me? Couldn't have been that exciting" his icy blue eyes focused only on me.

"It was confusing at times, but the misery brothers were my escape, mind you I wish I was looking at you and not Max most of the time." ai laughed.

"Hey!" Max pretended to be offended across the table and I just shrugged at him.

"How is it that everyone's up and so lively? I know our gang hasn't gotten used to time again, but what's everyone else's excuse?" I asked Gabriel.

"We were all so excited to see you and celebrate that most of us made sure to nap before you got here and well some of us are just party animals" Cassie yelled from down the table.

"Its quite the welcome" Sue purred holding onto a man's arm.

She sensed her mate while getting food and dropped her plate running outside, returning a few minutes later flushed holding onto Carl's hand.

"You've been spoiling me since the day I met you Gabe, this is really mind blowing." I kissed his cheek.

"This wasn't even me, it was the pack. Cassie put a lot of last minute work into it. Your surprise is in our cabin" the only gift from him that I yearned for was making my core heat up with desire.

"Gabe you didn't have to get me anything, I have all that I could possibly want right here" I pointed to him then waved my arms around to everyone here.

"I'd give you the entire world if I could" he said earnestly.

"You already did, I have you"

"Jeez get a room already!" Max laughed at us making me blush and the whole pack as well.

"And work on controlling that, we don't need to be randomly moaning now that you two are together" Max wagged his finger at us, earning him a slap on the arm from Alice.

"Well on that note, we are going to call it a night, we have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow." Gabriel said while scooping me up in his arms.

Everyone said good night and Gabriel carried me off into the woods. I gently kissed his neck as he navigated us to our little lodge.

The log cabin looked like something out of a fairy tale, made from giant logs with moss growing on it, like it was apart of the forest. Gabriel opened up the solid door and carried me into the bedroom, gingerly placing me on the king size bed.

"Uh Max did have a point... think to yourself like you really mean it for the pack not to feel our emotions for the night" Gabriel chuckled as he squinted his eyes and looked like he was making a wish.

"Okay" I squinted my eyes and commanded no one else feel what I felt for the night. "Done, now get over here."

He sat down on the bed next to me and I immediately straddled him kissing him passionately.

"No Hope you been through a lot, I dont want to be rough with you, not yet atleast" He whispered and I nodded, letting him take the lead.

He gently lifted my shirt off of me and softly kissed my neck and my collar bone, I wasn't wearing a bra because Sherry and Liz didn't have one to fit me. Gabriel ran his big rough hands across my back making me shiver in anticipation.

He picked me up off his lap and placed my head on the pillows before covering me in sweet kisses. Cupping my breasts her sucked on one n****e before moving to the other and stopped.

"I'm meeting your father today? And why wasn't he at the party?" I asked concerned.

I was too surprised to see so many new faces last night and to be back with Gabriel that I completely forgot that this was his father's compound.

"Shhh baby, get some rest you'll know soon enough"

I sighed too tired to argue and quickly fell asleep in Gabriel's arms, right where I belonged.
