Chapter 14

It wasn't long after Hope somehow got in my head that the crew gave us our last injections. As usual they stayed long enough to see us seize and black out. Again I pretended to do the same, sitting with Anne in my arms first so the fall didn't harm her. I waited until I couldn't hear their footsteps anymore and gently placed Anne on the ground. I hesitated looking at my cell mates that I have gotten so close to in the time elapsed since our kidnapping and sighed. If I try to change them it might kill them or not even work, but if I did nothing they'd either die or become mindless wolves. The sounds the wolves made from the other cell sounded like they were surviving but still in pain. Greg told me it would be best if I bit everyone under their shirts to hide the mark. Our captors weren't bright but they'd probably notice everyone, but me having a fresh bite on their neck before we all shifted. I shook my head, my mind was made up, this was our only chance. I bit Greg first then worked my way around the cell, pausing one last time in front of Anne before biting her tiny frame. I sat back down and took her back into my arms. With all the injections we've been given I had no idea how long or painful the change would be. Most newborn werewolves go through a day or two of what they explain as a fire burning through their body, breaking down what was and rebuilding something new in its place. The process was very similar to the injections they gave us, so I was hoping we'd shift into wolves in about two days and I could explain to everyone our plan to escape. Once we got out I'd release Hope and she would basically ride me to safety. I was concerned about finding her, but I can somehow sense her now. Like we were bonded, but not like a mate. She was a mere human before being kidnapped so I wonder if they gave her some kind of alpha imitation thinking she was already a werewolf, or if they really have no idea what results they would get. Either way she can't shift and hopefully getting a true werewolves venom would be able to save her from the same fate as the wolves down here. Hope? Yes Alice? They just injected us and I bit the others. Just a waiting game now. Are you okay? Yes I don't even notice the effects anymore. Good they just injected me as well. I didn't notice any change, but I took a page out of your book. Usually I'm out for a week so I'm going to pretend to be unconscious for as long as I can. Okay, hopefully they don't torture you again before we escape. If they do, just drag my body and memorize every detail of the ship as we leave so I can tell Gabe. I'll let you know when they shift, or if anything changes. Thanks Alice. I sighed and adjusted Anne on me. Nothing about this situation was normal, even for a supernatural creature. Werewolves can speak to eachother in wolf form, but I've never heard of doing it in human form and Hope wasn't even a full werewolf yet. The visions with Gabriel were not as unheard of in werewolves, but not controlled like that and again not with a human or part werewolf. I'm grateful that Hope is able to do it, but I'm also concerned if what they gave her is going to turn her into a monster. Not only change her body's composition, but her mind. We all have been changed by this physically and I'm sure mentally. There will be plenty of PTSD to go around, but none of us have gone manic or delusional. Anne hasn't said a word and clings to me for dear life, but that's completely understandable for an eight year old who lost her mother and is being held captive in this hell hole. Anne started sweating and whimpering in my arms. Was it my venom or the injection? The others weren't long after her and moaning in their sleep. I spent what felt like an eternity waiting for them to wake, pinching myself to keep from drifting off. "Alice?" Greg whispered as he ran his hand under his shirt, feeling my bite mark he nodded. "Get some sleep, I'll keep an eye on everyone" I nodded at him and adjusted Anne again so she could hear my heart beat to lessen her panic when she woke. Sleep hit me hard and I let it, I trusted Greg with my life. Next thing I knew Greg was shaking me awake. I looked at him and his eyes were pure black. It was happening. "Why do I have an urge to be close to Holly, to uh f**k her... and why does it seem like she feels the same?" he whispered into my ear, barely audible. "Uhhh it worked, but we don't have time for explanations now. Do you feel like you could change?" he was slightly shaking and he nodded his head. Anne was awake in my arms and I could feel her little body vibrating as well. Everyone else was in a daze and slightly shaking as well. "Its now or never, let yourself ease up on your control and let it happen, the others will all follow or I'll force them" I said preparing myself for Anne to shift in my arms. Greg half growled and dropped to his knees his full body shaking and starting to shift. "Greg no!" Sue screamed and dropped next to him, before he could shake her off she started shifting too. "Get off of him!" Holy screeched at Sue then started growling as she dropped to all fours. The others watched in horror as the three of them were internally shattering their bones and the skin was stretching over their growing forms until fur broke out from underneath. It took several minutes for them to fully shift and while the others were watching they started to shift as well. It was now just Anne and I a cell full of confused wolves eating what was left or their human forms. "Anne I know your scared, but its going to be okay. Just think of yourself as a wolf baby girl. I'm right here and I'll always be with you." Her body was shaking with sobs, but not from a shift. I gave Gregs wolf a look and he walked towards us growling. I held Anne closer to me and kicked out at him, while he nipped at my legs. "Owwww!" I screamed as he grabbed my foot. "NOOOO!" Anne screeched at Greg as she started to shift. "Thats it sweety you got this, just let go!" I cheered her on as her human body was falling to the ground until a beautiful blue grey pup stood in front of me. I finally let my wolf take over and shifted faster then I ever have before. Everyone was talking over eachother in confusion and fear. The eight of us wolves barely had any room left in the cell even though they were small for werewolves. They were still larger than normal wolves but I was the largest and I'm a small female compared to my pack. I tried speaking to the wolves a few times and growling but the only ones who paid attention was Greg and Anne. Alice it worked! I heard Hopes voice above the rest. They're panicking and won't listen! "EVERYONE SHUT THE f**k UP AND LISTEN TO ALICE" Hope roared making everyone stop and whimpering. Thanks Hope. Now everyone we shifted, but will be able to shift back to human We are not the same as the other cells! Now if we are going to get out of here you have to listen and do what I say. All the wolves were now listening and looking at me expectantly. Crew members can be coming at any time to check on us, Holly and Sue I need you to play dead. Holly and Sue sprawled out on the ground, Holly even had her tongue out. Everyone else act like wild wolves, follow my lead. I started growling and pacing and pushing my way around the others and they started to do the same. Anne still glued to my side whimpering not growling, I paused and nuzzled her, giving her a kick before acting feral again. Its okay Anne I told you I'd never leave you. Now when they use that frequency obey them! They will come in to take the dead and when they do we attack. You guys will all follow Greg and jump overboard. The fall will not kill you, but the ships displaced water will drag you behind the ship into its wake. The crew might shoot at us and the jump may terrify you, but anything is better than staying in this cell. Why are we following Greg and not you? Robert asked sounding concerned. I have to get Hope, before I join you guys. We're still to far from land, we'll drown! Amanda said in fear. Werewolves can swim for almost a full day, but me and Hopes boyfriends are looking for us and have boats in the water. How can you know that for sure? Jared growled. Well Hopes boyfriend is a billionaire and they have super wolf mind powers Greg stood up for me, but in a ridiculous way. Whats that supposed to mean? Amanda demanded. Uhhm I've somehow been able to connect to my boyfriend Gabe and have been talking to Alice the past few days. I've been doing a lot of drugs guys. Hope chimed in laughing. Two of the crew walked up to our cell and high fived. "Oh the boss is gonna love this! And only two dead. Huh looks like the kid managed to survive. Guess that mistake paid off" one of them said as he took notes. "Alright let's get Bobby and Tony down here, some straps, and the high frequency going." the second took another look at us before leaving. Hope its happening soon. I'm ready, still pretending to be out cold. You guys clear on what we have to do? Kill the crew if they stand in your way, but don't let your wolves take over and go out of your way for revenge. They all agreed. Anne, I need you to follow the others when we get out of the cell and don't look back no matter what. She didn't say anything but pushed her little pup body underneath mine. A little help Hope? Anne I command you to follow the others. Anne shuddered underneath and slowly shook her head no, making me sigh internally. Well that didn't work, I guess that's why we can't normally shift until we're sixteen. Change of plans Hope, Anne is coming with me. Then I'll go with you too Robert said determined. Yeah that might be wise, thank you Robert. She's made it this far she's making it to safety. I looked at him and nodded. Holly and Sue kept playing dead while the rest of us acted feral, which wasn't too hard with all the tension and anticipation we were all feeling. It took the crew four hours to get back to our cell. They took their time setting up the high frequency machine and they all stared excited at us. The sound it emitted was unlike anything I ever heard but it wasn't painful. I whimpered and lowered myself the same as if I got an alpha command and the others followed. They turned the machine on and off a few times and we went feral and submission with it. "Alright seems to be working great! Now flip it on again and open the cage" One man said standing back with his gun ready. Wait for them to grab the second body! I commanded the others so no one made a run for it when they opened the cell door. "Perfect, just like the other two cells! Let's set up the straps and get the dead, bring them up to Paul to dissect... he'll probably want that big one too when he's done with them" They holstered there guns and attached the straps to a come along, turned the machine back on and opened the cell door. I held my breath hoping everyone could control themselves long enough to make this plan work. Sue didn't move a muscle and even held her breath as they attached straps to her and dragged her body into the hall. Three of them came back in and walked over to Holly. NOW! I roared causing all the wolves to jump into action. Sue jumped off and ripped the throat out of the man operating the useless machine. The three in the cell died quickly as their bodies were ripped apart. Greg go get the others out of here! See you in the water! Hope I'm coming I can sense you! Robert and Anne were at my heels as we ran down the hallway to a set or stairs. Greg and the others kept running to the top to freedom and we stopped midway following another hallway. I could hear gunshots from above but didn't hear anyone yell out in pain. I stopped in front of a steel door and used my paw to pull the big lever down swinging it open. Hope was completly naked, smiling chained in the middle of the room. ~~~~~ "Let's get the f**k out of here!" I cheered to the two wolves and pup in front of me. Your chains are silver, we can't break them, can you? Alice asked me looking around my empty room for anything that could help. I struggled against the chains for a minute feeling hopeless. "Just pull me free, don't worry I'll heal" I told Alice making her whimper unsure. Twist the chain so the links bind up and pull with all your might Robert instructed me. I nodded and tried again with no luck. One more try and the chain snapped leaving a foot of silver dangling from my wrist. The rest of the restraints broke easier and soon I was free. Hop on Alice kneeled down and I looked at the lengths of silver dangling from my shackles and shook my head. "I'll hurt you, I can run and probably fast now" Alright let's go. Hopefully the other wolves managed to distract the guy watching the cameras and we wouldn't be under fire before we even breathed fresh air. I ran as fast as I could and was surprised at how fast I was really going, not used to my new speed I failed to stop and hit the wall in the stairway before climbing the last flight into the night. We paused when we got out the door and could hear men to the left shouting and shooting their guns. The salty air smelt amazing the the cold breeze was invigorating on my bare skin. There was storage containers in every direction and I tried to focus on the labels because I knew Gabriel was seeing what I was seeing. We made it to the water! Gregory rejoiced. We're on our way! Alice alerted him. We turned right and ran towards the railings to make our jump. "Kill the wolves, but we need the girl alive!" I heard the ass hole who mutilated me scream into the night. A man stepped out from around a sea can and I used the chain on my wrist to hit him in the face and knock him out. I looked behind us and saw there was five men with automated guns pointed at us ready to shoot. We weren't going to make it. Alice get the others out of here! I can't leave you Hope! NOW ALICE! The three of them whimpered and kept running while I picked up the gun from the man I hit with my chain. "You shoot them I'll take a bullet to the head" I warned them holding the gun to my head. The five men turned their aim to me and slowly walked towards me. Once I saw Alice and the others jump, I turned and ran down the aisle of sea cans. "Take her down but don't shoot to kill" My least favorite asshole yelled. I took four or five bullets but kept running looking for an opening or escape. No openings but there was a single sea can instead of being stacked. I tried to jump and pull myself up, but my hand slipped and I slid down. I backed up for a running start taking another two bullets. I shook off the pain and tried again this time pulling myself on top. "Your not leaving here alive!" I heard behind me then everything went black.
