I sat in front of Alex’s room door begging him to give me an explanation or at least tell me why, why would he want it to end all of a sudden on our anniversary at that. That was the meanest way to end it. I didn't even get the chance to drop the announcement before everyone dispersed leaving me alone in dejection. I was humiliated but I didn't care that about right now I just wanted to know why.
I had been on the floor crying my eyes out all through the night, begging him to open the door but he didn't answer me. My throat was dry I didn't sleep a wink I kept on having different thoughts of what the reason could be, I know he didn’t love me or ever did but I didn't want to accept that he didn't have any use for me anymore.
The door swung open and I fell on the floor, Alex eyed me from up to down before crossing over me and heading downstairs
“You can't leave me like this please” I begged grabbing his leg with my both hands
“Get off me,” he said ripping his leg from my grip
“I gave up everything to be by your side is this how you would repay me?” I asked hot tears streaming from my eyes
“I never asked you to,” he said coldly making my heart plunge deeper into my stomach his cold glares throwing daggers at me made my heart shatter even more
“Well you are free to live your life with me” he added with a smirk before running down the stairs
I ran after him but by the time I reached outside the house he was about to drive away
“Get me the keys to a car now,” I said to a security guard, but he just stood there staring at me like I saw something crazy, I looked crazy barefooted in a dinner dress and ruined makeup
“Hurry up!” I shouted, Alex was already driving out and I wanted to trail him, if he didn't want to explain why I would get to know why myself. I snatched the keys from the security guard immediately he stretched it out and hopped right into the car driving off like a crazy person, I had to catch up with him ahead. Slowly following him from behind so he wouldn't notice that he was being followed, I caught a glimpse of my face in the side mirror I looked forward miserable my mascara was scattered all over my face with dried black tears on my face, my red lipstick smudged across my face but I didn't care about that right now
As he went further and I followed, the road and surroundings looked familiar, he was going to see the other woman. I always knew there would be another woman or women because he didn't sleep with me so there was someone out there pleasing his s****l needs I didn't care about that because he hid it well and didn't put it in my face, I just blanked it out of my mind and tried wholeheartedly to make him love me somewhere in my heart I really thought it would be possible. Tears ran down my eyes as I thought about it
“I gave my whole life to this man, how did I get here?” I asked myself, I had given everything I had in me to make our marriage work to the point that it was all I had, it sounded pathetic but that was how invested and dedicated I was to our marriage that I can't imagine my life without it.
I saw him park his car in front of a building and it was the building Maddie lived in, confused and curious why he would come there I got out of the car and followed him carefully. I was barefooted in a dinner dress earning different stares from people around but I kept on moving, the elevator was delayed so he took the stairs and I kept on following him keeping him in close distance.
By the time he got to the third floor he went to a house, I looked around confused if I was right or wrong that I was on Maddie’s floor
“Was he cheating with me with someone who live close to Maddie?” I said in my mind as I peeked from behind the wall I was standing trying to see the building he got into, he would be completely nuts if he was doing that. He got into a house and shut the door house 312 was the house number making my breath hitch that was Maddison's house number, I shook my head violently shaking out any funny thoughts
I counted the doors repeatedly to be sure I was seeing things but I was right every time, Alex entered house 312 Maddie’s house. My head was blank no thoughts were coming in, with shaky hands I punched in her passcode taking in a deep shaky breath I turned the doorknob and entered the house. My breathing stopped, I saw clothes scattered everywhere
“No, it can't be” I whispered, Alex's pants, belts, and shirt were all laying on the floor. I dragged my legs in horror to Maddie’s room where my eyes saw the unbelievable, Alex locking lips with my best friend I prayed in my heart that it was a bad dream but it wasn't it was real. They were kissing so passionately and intertwined in each other's arms that they didn't even notice me standing they, my heart ached so bad I felt like ripping it out of my chest. How could this be happening, it should have been anyone but Maddie, she was the only one I felt would always stand by me no matter my choices or decisions but here she was tongue f*****g my husband
“I can't wait to hold my baby in my hand,” Alex said rubbing Maddie’s tummy, what baby was he talking about?
“We would finally be a together no one in the way now” Maddie said, making my whole world stop. Madison was pregnant too, and my legs couldn't hold my body weight, I dropped to the floor clutching my chest as I gasped for air I felt suffocated and my lungs burned for air. That was when noticed me there, Madison let out a sharp scream when she saw me
“How could you?” I managed to say through my heavy crying
