'The Dream...'
'I was facing the sea from a cliff with waves crashing and spraying on to my face when I heard someone call out to me from behind. I turned around and saw a night-black wolf staring at me with stormy sea-green eyes filled with more turmoil than the raging sea. Taking one long look at me, he turned around and retreated into the shadows of the forest. "*****!", I tried to call out, but no sound left my lips. I ran after him as if drawn to him by a force beyond my understanding, but I tripped over a rock and I fell onto the ground, which woke me up......' I was back in bed in my room at the Pack house. I woke up between my best friends, Michael to my right and Jules to my left. The hangover was hitting me hard. I got out of bed and washed up. I came out of the bathroom and noticed a bowl with foil covering the top and a small hand written note that read,"Drink this for the hangover and wake me up before Michael!! - Jules". Laughing to myself, I removed the foil and drank the soup. I decided not to wake up either of them, as they must have been exhausted after spending the entire night cleaning my mess up. I skipped down the stairs following a delicious aroma wafting from the kitchen. Sure enough, my mom was making her signature vegan Blueberry Pancakes. My plate was already set on the table with extra whipped cream and a fresh bowl of berries. I greeted my mom with a hug and sat down for a hearty meal. After breakfast, I kissed my mom bye and went back upstairs to get ready and head out. The boys were already up and ready to go. The stash of hoodies, shirts and tees from the men's section proved useful, which I always bought. They often leave their clothes over, which gives them a change of clothes at the bottom of my wardrobe. " Hey there Selene, feeling better?" Jules asked,a little unsure. "Much!", I responded enthusiastically, not wanting to worry him. I grabbed my bike keys and theirs and gestured them to come down for breakfast as they were grooming their hair that was as messy as ever. By the time we came down, the dining area was bustling with life as the young pups ran around the kitchen with plates in their tiny mouths for seconds and thirds. The cooking team had their hands full with making pancakes for the entire pack since it was Sunday, so Michael and I jumped in to round'em all up. My father entered the dining hall and a hush fell all of a sudden. The alpha of the pack, my father, Alpha Gregory Reeves, was a much respected and feared person. We sneaked out slowly, avoiding suspicion, and ran to the garage and rode off on our bikes into town. Today,Sunday, was our day. We were headed to the race course to test out new updates made by my brother, Casey. This was our weekend haven. A dirt track on the west side of town, open for all with a garage for young ones to experiment. Michael and I built our first modified bicycles right here, making it close to our hearts. Jules sat down on the bench watching us knock ourselves out on the track. Well, what can I say? This was just not his cup of.... coffee. Anyway, Michael and I rocked the track with our upgraded beasts and took down quite a few dollars from the races. After all, we have been undefeated on track for the last few years. After cleaning ourselves, we headed out to the town mall to grab a bite. "You were a little tardy out there sweetie, I must say all these upgrades are making you dull", remarked Jules, as we were seated in the booth of our favorite coffee shop and awaited our order. "I.. its not that.. I'm just a little...", i decided they didn't need to be burdened by my foolish mistakes, so I said," groggy. You know from all the drinks we had last night." with a forced smile. before Jules could respond, the waiter arrived with our order: double shot espresso for Jules with vanilla muffin, a pumpkin spice latte for Micheal with cinnamon bread sticks and finally, a huge cup of hot chocolate with blueberry muffin and berry blast pie slice for me. One look at my face and they knew I wanted to focus on the food and forget my troubles like I had done on countless occasions before. We ate in peace and went back home, but nothing could ever have prepared us for what awaited back at the pack house. It was truly a meeting that changed lives, not just for our pack but for many others I had yet to know.
