The lobby was huge. Some people were there. She had been introduced to them while Ethan kept checking on her to be certain she was okay. He was right, no one tried to kiss her after her panic attack had passed. Meeting people individually was okay for her. She thought she could remember everyone's names. He kept showing her around and they ended up walking in a corridor to reach the northern garden. While they were walking, she noticed a mirror facing an intersection. She stared at it for a while, watching that lightless alley behind her. "What is that?" She saw a shadow there. It was tall. At least 8 feet tall. The form was slender. It's arms were unnaturally long, his fingers too. Her hair stood on end. Her body trembled. Her legs were about to give out. Even if she wanted to, she was unable to stop looking at that creature. It has this dark malicious aura. She could feel hatred, suffering, hell and despair emanating from it. This thing wanted to hurt someone, anyone. This thing was not human, nor was it a werewolf. This thing was a demon. A dark and evil demon. She frowned. Demons are usually summoned by strong creatures and dark rituals, what was it doing here out of all places?
Suddenly, the demon lifted its head, throwing daggers at her with its eye sockets. She quickly turned around to see it, but all she saw was a woman on her left. She kind of looked like Henry, but her skin was darker, she was gracious, more attractive, thicker, her hair was curled and bulky. She looked scared, too.
Stranger: B*TCH RUN!
Instinctivly, Darcy grabbed the hand of Ethan, who tried to understand what was happening and began to run with him. He finally realised what might have happened. He ran faster, and ended up pulling her in his arms until he reached the garden. Once they were out, Ethan put her down, grabbed her shoulder and plunged his authoritarian eyes inside of hers.
Ethan: Okay, baby. Listen to me. Breathe... I haven't told you, it's okay, it's okay! I do want you to do whatever you want, but please, don't go to the west wing. There are weird things happening there since last week, that's why it is deserted... What did you see?
She shook her head. She was still shaken up.
Ethan didn't know what to do. He looked at his mate with sadness and worry. She was even more scared than before. He decided to take her in his arms again and take her to their apartment. He thought about it and sat her down in front of the mirror. She seemed quite drawn to it. She immediately stared at it. "That west wing problem is getting out of hand. What happened? What did she saw? Dammit, Henry and I only try to understand these days! Those vampires are a handful, I swear."
He stared at her. She was sitting holding her knees together between his legs. They weren't touching, but this proximity gave him chills. He liked it. He was afraid that she would be unapproachable. After being abused her whole life, who wouldn't be? Yet she was handling it so well. She was calm, kind of a scared cat, but overall, she was able to meet new people, showing herself without her veil. He was proud of her. Little did he know that she only followed her Master's desires. All she did that day, she did it because he asked her to. She was obedient. If her master wanted her to be veiled, she would have been. If he wanted her naked, she also would have been. She didn't really understand, " You do you" he told her. She only knew that he said he wouldn't hit her and he didn't yet.
He stared at her and noticed something strange about her behavior towards the glass. She didn't seem to look at herself. It looked like she was looking through a window. Her eyes shifted from one place to another. He searched behind her, but found nothing out of the ordinary.
"What is she looking at?"
-----------------------------------------
The day ended. Jasmine came to check on her. Ethan's mind linked her about the west wing thing. She seemed fine. Still shy, still whispering. When she left, The Alpha decided it would be nice to watch a movie. A soft movie, to not scare her. He decided to go for Disney. Despite all of his tough attitude and his dangerous looks, he secretly loved Disney and Pixar movies. They watched Rapunzel. She was completely taken by the story. Impossible to make her look away. It made her heart pump faster, her body shiver, yet it was not fear she felt. She was excited. Wrapped in a cozy blanket, with freshly cleaned pyjamas, snacks in front of her, her Master sat close to her, feeding her blueberries and other kinds of fruit. It felt like a dream to her. After the movie, her Master said it was sleeping time. He carried her to her bedroom, laid her down on the bed and tucked her in. He then softly kissed her forehead, making her all flustered.
Ethan: Do you want me to sleep with you tonight? If you are not ready, I have a room for myself.
She didn't know what to answer. Usually, her master wouldn't want to sleep with her. How could she ask him to sleep in the same bed? She was filthy, disgusting. Nobody would want to sleep with her. So she told him to sleep in his room. He felt a sharp pain inside of him. He looked defeated, but he obliged. Once he was in bed, his mind would only picture her. He wanted her, yet she was so far away from him. She didn't want him, he could see that. He could not sleep, he tossed around in his bed, knowing he had to work in the morning. He told her she would be alone with Jasmine for the day, but he felt uneasy. "What if she likes her more than I"
It was 3 in the morning. He still couldn't sleep. Suddenly, a weird feeling creeped inside of him. He could feel fear, terror and despair. He heard steps, running in the kitchen. Someone was touching things in there. Tossing around some stuff. He also could hear it breathe irregularly. He jumped out of his bed to find the culprit. However, no one was there, only some spices on the floor. The salt was open and emptied itself on the ground. Someone was there for sure. He ran to his mate's room. It was surprisingly cold and it smelled like an old egg. His breath turned into vapor. He shivered when he saw her staring at the armchair on the other side of the room, hiding herself with the blanket, trembling. He saw nothing but the demon was sitting there, watching her every movement.
Ethan: Are you okay?
She sniffled, nodded and faked to go back to sleep.
After looking everywhere in the apartment, securing it. He noticed she was still staring at that same spot and it was colder than before. He felt uneasy.
Ethan: Nope, that's it. I'm sorry, I don't care if you are ready or not. You will sleep with me tonight.
He took her and brought her to the couch where they "slept" together for the rest of the night.
