I’m hungry. I lead my way to the kitchen. I am hungry but I do not want to cook. My gosh is wrong with me?
“Voughn! Did you people already had your breakfast?” I asked from the other room. And I received no answer. But I guess I did, I just wasn’t able to hear it. But I did not push though and just continued scanning the area.
I used my whole eyes to roam around and look for something easy to prepare. Like maybe bread. And yeah, there was bread. AND CHEESE! Just lovely! I took it and slice some. I made my sandwich and prepared myself a glass of warm milk. Basically a substitute of coffee, because I hate the taste of that substance.
"Sandwich huh?” The man said, just barely arriving. “Why don’t you just cook?”
“I do not have time for that.” I answered. “When did you started talking that much?” I asked, brows knotting.
"It's breakfast, you should eat heavy food, not an simple bread." Why?? What is it to him if this is what I want to eat? Is he okay? I feel like he’s still sleeping and this one ain’t the Voughn who just tortured me for a whole two weeks! And so to confirm he is indeed awake, I slapped him. "WHAT THE f**k?!" He shouted in exasperation. Well, he is indeed awake and sane, then. Is he sane?
"Sorry, I was just trying to wake you up. Feels like your soul’s still sleeping eh.” I explained and distanced myself from him.
“And that is the reason why you just slapped me?” He asked, clearly flabbergasted. I just shrugged my shoulders and took a bite from the bread in my hand. I chew it as much as I can before swallowing, and drinking from the glass of milk I just prepared.
“If you are hungry, just make your own. You’re big enough to do so.”
"Tss, I'll cook. Wait for it," he motioned his hands directing where I'll seat. What’s gotten into him, really? But since I am a good child and he looked like some lad who can really cook, I sat down and patiently waited.
"Oh!! Mika, Voughn, Good morning!" Then it was Selene who suddenly came in. I waved at her and gestured a sit just beside me. For some reason, I also felt the sudden change in Voughn’s action. As if startled of the Lady’s voice. Though that did not last long as he continued doing what he was doing. I guess that answers a long run question!
"Does he cook good? Or am I waiting for a disaster to happen?" I whispered at Selene as I watch Voughn suddenly almost murdering his ingredients into a chop.
"Well of course!! He was the one who though us here how to." Selene so happily said, as if this day is the best she is having, talking about something she like. I just nodded back.
"Sure? It just feels like he has anger towards those poor ingredients." I whispered again, subtly observing.
"Don't underestimate my skills, young lady, wait and see." He said. Huh, nice. I chuckled. I took a bite from my sandwich, as they called it, and took my time chewing it, as I observe these two. Scarlet is staring at his back, seemingly thinking too deep. While Voughn, on the other hand, is showing of his skills in culinary. I swallowed my food and took a sip out of the milk.
"So, Selene..." I turned again to the girl sitting beside me. She turned to me and she looked disturbed. As if mind is flying or floating away from her. "Are you alright?" I asked.
It took her at least a minute to answer me back. "Hmm.." There’s something wrong with her. She's radiating too much heat, what's happening?
"Voughn..." I unconsciously said. And of course, I didn't got an answer. "Say, is she a mated wolf..?" I whispered. And yet, to no avail, she heard it.
"I AM NOT!" She shouted. I raised my hand as a sign of submission. "I'm sorry... But I can smell something so strong... It's making me dizzy..." She said as she sat down again and held her head.
"Happy 16th birthday, Selene Scarlet." I whispered. That is when she turned to me, looking horrified, but seemingly commending me of knowing. Why?
"How did you know...?" She asked. Confusion drawn in her face. When I was about to answer, Voughn, our cook, placed his dish in front of us.
"Bon appetit!" He said. "And happy Birthday, Selene!"
Scarlet didn't answer. She's just there, seemingly struggling over something she couldn't figure out.
I might not be a wolf myself, but I think I know what's happening here.
