Intense Stares

1230 Words
Jorjette’s Pov I frowned immediately when I heard the man say so but before I would be able to reply to what he had just said, I needed to know who I was talking to. “And I asked, who are you?” I uttered with raised brows and this time, I released Kyra to her full strength. Compared to Lycans, I was a small fry but I wouldn't fail to assert my dominance wherever necessary. My eyes dimmed and I stared daggers at the man, as if I was going to s***h his neck with my claws the next second. “I see you are feisty, just like he told me.” He ignored my question again and walked further into the room like it was his place. It was obvious he didn't respect my privacy and I hated that. I didn't care if it was Roman who sent him there, he had trespassed and I needed to teach him a lesson. In the next second, I moved with Kyra aiding me and this time, I discovered that I was more faster than I used to be. The man before me saw me coming with speed and his eyes widened in shock. He probably didn't expect that I would dash toward him in such a way and he tried to dodge. But it was too late, my claws lengthened and I was already so close to him, that I raised my hand to s***h his body. I wasn't aiming for his neck because I didn't want to kill him but surprisingly, he successfully dodged my attack and my claws cut through his ear. Blood spilled on my face and the whole room went silent as I came to a final halt and the man’s body slammed on the wall due to his force. “Who the f**k are you?” I growled at him, my eyes spitting fire. “You shouldn't be in here without my permission and I do not care if Roman sent you or not,” I added and then folded my hands, impatiently. “Wow…” He replied to my words, his eyes widening in fascination. “I like you. You are just right to be our Luna.” He said quickly and he bowed slightly. The cut on his ear was healing so fast and as he straightened up, it was no longer a cut but a bruise. It was amazing to see that Lycans were superb but I didn't feel that way. “What?” I asked with a frown realizing that he wasn't angry that I attacked him, he also called me Luna. Just what had Roman told them in such a short period? He stood up straight after bowing and then introduced himself. “Hi, I am MacJones, the Pack’s doctor. The King has asked me to check on you and your Wolf.” He uttered and I was taken aback. I had not gotten over him calling me Luna and now this? But then I frowned, thinking that the King was really suspicious of me and that was a given because I never let him sense my Wolf. He must have been thinking I was a fraud without a wolf. “Please, sit and let me begin,” MacJones said and I looked at him head to toe, he had nothing on him. Not even a common stethoscope for a check-up. How then was he going to check up on me? “I disagree. I didn't ask for any check-up from the King.” I declared, firmly. “You can leave,” I added. “I can't leave.” He replied. “Why?” I asked, annoyed. “I can't disobey the King's order. So, it is either I check on you or you get the King to take back his order.” He laid out those words with so much seriousness. Of course, he was loyal to his King and no matter what I said, nothing could move him. “Fine!” I declared. “Where is the King’s office?” I asked, knowing I couldn't just storm out. He described where it was and I directly stormed out of the room to find Roman. The doctor was left in the room because he refused to get out. I realized the Packhouse was enormous. It was much larger than the one in the Blue Wolf Pack. The Lycan Packhouse seemed like it was divided into several parts and surprisingly, they were labeled. I saw that I was in the Luna’s Wing and it was no wonder that they all called me Luna. I bet Roman set this all up! The Alpha's Wing was right next to the Luna’s and it didn't take me so long to find it. But it was buzzing in there with strong-looking men and women. They were mostly warriors and very few Lycan omegas chatting away and following the orders of those warriors. As soon as I appeared, they all had their eyes on me and they all kept quiet. They looked at me like I was some alien and I had to halt to take deep breaths. But at the same time, they went right back to chatting as if they hadn't seen me. It was like I was invisible and I preferred it that way, I wouldn't want them sucking up to me because they perceived me as Luna. I held my head high and walked past them all with my eyes on the door labeled the Alpha’s office but I couldn't help but wonder why they were all gathered there. Was the Alpha's Wing a ballroom for them? I knocked on the door as soon as I got to it but I received no response. Two more knocks and nothing came but then Roman’s scent in the air was intense and I decided to open the door. However, his desk was empty with only a few files on it and he was nowhere to be seen. “Where the f**k is he?” I asked myself, turning around to leave but then I felt intense stares at me. I turned around immediately as my instincts spelled danger. I turned to look but the Lycan warriors and the omegas all had their eyes on him, as they were filled with shock, surprise, anger, and intrigue. They all had different reactions and I wondered what was going on. “Do you know it is a crime to open the King's food without him permitting you?” I heard a loud and steady voice. It was smooth and beautiful yet a bit deep and immediately, the people around parted and a lady dressed in a long dress and fur coat stepped out with omegas and a few warriors behind her. I frowned, wondering what she meant by those words. Is what I just did a crime? “I do not think you are correct,” I spoke up, making a mental note to ask Roman about this. “I will have to confirm from the King later,” I added. “I see Roman really brought in a mistress.” The lady in a fur coat walked and stood before me. She looked straight at me with so disdain. “Are you looking for the King to warm his bed?” She fired at me.
