Chapter 27

Raven's POV

The school bell rang throughout SEIA, indicating that the day has ended. Adelaide and I were fixing our things when one of our classmate called us.

"Raven, someone's looking for you!"

I looked at the door and saw Sucrose leaning at the frame. He grinned cheekily and waved at us. "Yaharo."

Adelaide asked with curiosity on her face. "What's up?"

Sucrose flashed an unemotional smile at her. "I came to pick up Raven. Why'd you ask?"

Adelaide squinted her eyes at him, then he looked at me, then back at him, and then at me. "Are you two dating?"

My eyes widened at what she said. "N-No!"

Sucrose pulled me to his side and wrapped his arms around my shoulder. "Yeah, and what you gonna do about it?"

He said that while grinning at Adelaide. The latter's face went blank. She crossed her arms and raised her brow. "Is that so?"

I felt my palms sweating. Why is he this close???

"Stop it, Sucrose."

I turned around and saw Reginald walking towards us. He chastised Sucrose while staring at Adelaide knowingly. I slowly turned my head to look at Adelaide and saw her looking haughtily at him.

"We'll gonna have dinner first before you pull her wherever you planned to take her." She said, sounding like a mother hen while her hands were on her hips.

"Let us join you, after all, the more the merrier." Reginald offered.

Adelaide scoffed. "Suit yourself." She said and then went ahead.

I glanced at Sucrose who leaned at Reginald and whispered. "Do you two have a bad blood? She's always been grumpy towards you ever since you two crossed paths."

Reginald chuckled and patted Sucrose's shoulder. "I just knew something about her that she kept hidden for a long time now. If I were you, I wouldn't get to her nerves."

Reginald then faced me and said. "Let's go."

We arrived at the cafeteria and Adelaide was already waiting at our usual table, food ready. Sucrose was about to pick some berries from my tray when she slapped his hand.

"It's for Raven. Get those dirty hands of yours away or I'll chop them off." Adelaide hissed.

Sucrose hid his hand behind his back, and then hid behind Reginald.

We all sat down, and ate peacefully.

Well, peacefully was an understatement. I take that back. Adelaide and Sucrose kept throwing knives at each other. I don't get it. He suspected Reginald and Adelaide had a bad blood, but they're the ones who kept on arguing.

Reginald put down his spoon and fork and looked at his watch. When he saw the time, he sighed and wiped his mouth with a table napkin.

He stood up and suddenly slapped Sucrose on the head. "Stop it, class is going to start soon and we're still not there."

Adelaide raised her eyebrow at them. She then faced me and handed me a sandwich and juice. "For later. I'll go ahead now."

She glanced at Reginald and gave Sucrose an evil smile before leaving us.

"Welcome to the Special Night Class. My name's Svetlana and I am your instructor. You must be Raven?" A tall blonde woman said. She was wearing a corporate attire, paired with leather boots. She offered me a handshake, which I shyly received.

She looked so stunning. Why am I always surrounded by beautiful and gorgeous people? All I could ever do was patronize their beauty.

Right now, we're already at the room of the Special Night Class. We're still in the school premise but I never knew they have underground classrooms.

The classroom was still a part of the building where The Oeuvre was located. The elevator that we used was located near the office of the Investigatory Team, an elevator exclusive only for us.

It's three storeys deep and had a massive space. There were equipments and stuff that I don't know what's the use of.

On the corner, there were school chairs and a white board. All of the Investigatory Team were already sitting there, waiting for us.

"The Special Night Class is a program of SEIA that helps students with special ability, to train them to master their powers." Miss Svetlana said. "I know you already know them, since they're all members of the Investigatory Team, but I'll still let them introduce their abilities to you." she added.

I sat on the vacant chair and waited for them to start.

"Lemon, would you do the honors?" Miss Svetlana said while gesturing at Lemon to go in the front.

Lemon walked up and grinned at me. "So, as you know," she said , emphasizing the word know. "My powers is Telepathy. I can read thoughts and can communicate using it. I can also do a Mind Link." She stared at Sucrose for 3 seconds until the lad's face suddenly went blank.

I was surprised to hear Sucrose's speech synchronizing with her as she started talking. "I like you, Raven." The two of them said identically.

When the mind link got disconnected, Sucrose immediately picked a notebook and threw it at her. "Why do you always use me as your guinea pig‽"

Lemon stuck her tongue out at him. "Your turn, sugar daddy."

Sucrose stood up and puffed his cheeks. "My ability is psychometry. It tells me about the history of an object whenever I touched them, or I could detect the emotion a person is currently feeling. Although it's boring sometimes, it could be helpful in many ways." He paused then stared at the necklace on my neck. "Can I borrow that?"

I hesitantly gave him my necklace. The moment his fingers touched the black stone pendant of my necklace, his iris glowed blue.

"This necklace is a Black Fire Opal. It existed for a long time now, but has only been passed for two generation. Black opals are abundant in Lightning Ridge, but this one came from a volcano on the southern part of the Earth. Where did you get this?" Sucrose asked.

"Uhm, t-that was given to me by my mother." I answered while trying to remember who really gave that to me.

He scrunched his eyebrows and tried to figure out the origin of my necklace.

"Sucrose!" Lolirei yelled in horror as blood flowed out of his nose.

"Dang it!" Sucrose cursed as he hurriedly returned my necklace to me. He went back to his chair as he pinched his nose shut. Lolirei handed him a tissue which he quickly inserted on his nose to stop the bleeding.

Night raised her hand. "Mine's hypnosis."

Milcah hesitated but then shared her abilities. "My ability is astral or mental projection. I can determine people's aura, and when I said that yours was fascinating, I really mean it. It's rare to find auras like yours."

Frankie raised her hand too. "Uh, mine is p-psychokinesis. I can move objects using mental power." She paused then pointed to her twin sister, Lolirei, who was still busy wiping the blood off of Sucrose. "Her powers is telekinesis. She can teleport objects from one place to another. Right now, we're still studying on how to teleport human."

Ash then raised her hand. "Pyrokinesis." As she said that, a ball of fire suddenly appeared on her palm.

Aki excitedly raised her hand. "My ability is Telesthesia. I can identify the current movement or the current events of an individual. During operations, my ability is used in tracking a specific person."

Woshi raised his two hands and an electric current appeared in between. "My ability is energy medicine. I'm the team's healer."

A guy with a normal look came up to me and offered a handshake. "I'm Hagure."

I accepted his handshake and I was startled. He suddenly morphed into a different person, very different from the normal guy before. He had a surprised look on his face."My ability is biokinesis, and you just nullified my disguise."

This was the first time that I held his hand, so I suddenly froze as I watched his secret.

I saw him stalking someone. He was moving carefully as to not alert the person he was following.

That familiar dress and build. Where have I seen it?

"Raven, are you alright?"

I returned back to reality when I heard him calling me out.

"I-I'm fine." I quickly pulled my hand and bowed at him.

"My turn." Reginald said. "My ability is retrocognition. I can see a person's past, important ones. The reason why Adelaide is angry whenever she saw me was because I blackmailed her. I won't go into details but you know what I mean."
