Chapter 28

Raven's POV

"I'm Raven and my ability is clairvoyance. I can see events, past, present, and future through dreams. It's either about somebody's secret, or a murder of someone I know, or a premonition whatsoever. When I turned 16, my ability upgraded into something I can't control." I gulped. "I can see secrets in just a touch of a hand."

I saw everyone's reaction when I said that. Some were unmoved but mostly looked nervous.

"D-Don't worry. I won't tell anyone about your secrets. I always forget them immediately and will only be remembered if someone mentions it." I hurriedly said before going back to my seat. I kept on bowing my head at everyone. It feels weird telling people about my ability and seeing this kind of reactions.

Blyneia slapped her thigh as she stood up. "My ability is mind manipulation. Everything that is related to the mind, I can do it."

She then walked to the front and faced me. "Every student who enrolled at SEIA, and has a special ability, will be scouted by The Oeuvre. Svetlana casted a spell at the entrance gate to track down special students. When the club application starts, members of The Oeuvre will be tasked to find those students." Blyneia explained. "Once you're recruited to the Investigatory Team, you'll be automatically become a student in Special Night Class."

"Are you saying that Adelaide knew about my ability? After all, she's the one who insisted that I should join The Oeuvre." I said apprehensively.

"Adelaide is an exception." Blyneia and Reginald said together. They looked at each other, and then Blyneia nodded to let Reginald talk.

Reginald smiled. "You see, it's just a coincidence that Adelaide recruited you. She must have invited you out of her own volition. Sucrose was supposed to be the one who'll recruit you, but before he could even get to you, Adelaide already delivered you to us. It only became convenient for us, thanks to her."

"Except for the Investigatory Team, the members of The Oeuvre had no knowledge of the students they are tasked to scout." Milcah said.

"Now, any questions?" Blyneia stared at me as if she was studying my reaction.

"Does Miss V also had an ability?"

"Yes. Her power is controlling people like a puppet. You will see visible strings on the bodies once she starts controlling people." Blyneia answered nonchalantly.

"Does the Headmistress knew about the Special Night Class?" I asked again.

"But of course." Lemon smiled at me. "She was the one who created the Investigatory Team 3 years ago."

"The Headmistress has an ability too?" If that's the case, then that would only explain everything I had in mind.

"Nah, she created the Investigatory Team specifically for us." Night said, mouth curving into a smile.

"And why is that?" I asked curiously.

No one answered. They only gave me a smile that made me shiver in unknown fear.

I jumped in fright when Miss Svetlana suddenly clapped her hands. "Now! Shall we show Raven what is the Special Night Class about."

I've been observing them for an hour now and all I could say was "mind-blowing!"

I am mind-blown! This Special Night Class was freaking awesome! They're like in the military, but students!

Everyone was using all of the equipments that I couldn't decide whom to watch.

My favorite equipment was the anti-gravity simulator. Woshi and Milcah were sparring inside it and it was so cool! They're like fighting in outer space, devoid of gravity.

Miss Svetlana showed me the list of the regimen everyone was following, making my eyes glitter. It's so freaking awesome that my hands were itching to try it.

"Chill, babe." Lemon laughed. "Your thoughts are overflowing with excitement."

"I'm sorry. I mean, I'm just amazed. I only get to see stuff like this on the internet or in movies." I told Lemon while my eyes were fixated on Lolirei and Frankie making things appear and disappear.

Night and Sucrose were sparring using an arnis. They were so intense that I felt there'll be bruises on their bodies tomorrow.

"Are they always like that?" I whispered at Lemon.

She looked at the two. "Them? Yeah. They're always like that."

"Won't there be any bruises?" I asked worriedly as I studied their sweat-stained bodies.

"Meh. They're confident since Woshi is there to heal them." She answered before going back to her agility test. She went back inside the room where she came out from. She gave me a go signal and so I pressed the start button. Various projectiles suddenly shooted from the walls and I watched her in amazement as she evade those projectiles leisurely.

Miss Svetlana blew her whistle and stopped everybody. "Time's up guys! Good job!" She yelled.

Everyone stopped what they're doing and shouted a thanks to Miss Svetlana. They were all sweaty and breathing heavily but no trace of tiredness could be found in there faces.

I handed them bottles of water when they arrived to where I was staying. "Great job guys."

"Did I looked handsome back there?" Sucrose asked while drinking some water.

"You look like a wimpy kid calling for your mom." Lemon shouted from the other side of the room. After her agility test, she went to the treadmill for a quick run. According to her, after dodging projectiles, one must continue moving their body to avoid backlash. I knew she just made that up so I only smiled at her in understanding.

"Shut up, you wench! Stop reading my mind!" Sucrose said while throwing a bottle of water at Lemon.

Lemon caught the bottle and gave Sucrose the middle finger. "Thank you!"

"I think Lemon likes me." He whispered at me.

Lemon probably heard it cause she came at him with an arnis on her hand. "Come here, you little s**t!" She said, gritting her teeth.

Sucrose laughed loudly and ran. The two of them were chasing around the room. The others where only watching them in hilarity, as if it's just a normal thing to happen.

"Uh, won't anyone stop them?" I asked Milcah.

She laughed. "Only Miss Svetlana could stop those two. Other than her, our efforts are futile."

I looked at Miss Svetlana who just came out from her office. She brandished her hand and the two suddenly stopped frozen in place.

"Are we leaving them?" I asked nervously when they all started heading for the elevator while the two were still frozen.

"Don't mind them. And besides, the spell would only last for an hour, so they'll be free 58 minutes later." Night said, grinning to the two frozen people. "Good night guys! See you tomorrow!"
