It’s been a few months since the last case they had and Cameron is currently being taught how to control his empathy by William. He is starting to be able to block out feeling the emotions of others and open up when he wants to. Then Matthew Lake his new partner walks in and says they have a case.
The case is about a missing set of twins with psychic abilities. They are 16 years old there is a male and a female and when they are together they have joint powers. Which makes a deadly duo when it comes to their world because going unsupervised is dangerous. One twin can bring death on a person and the other one imitates pain and torture through the brain's pathways. As a result, it is top priority that they find them and keep them from causing any more trouble or worse risk killing someone.
While Cameron was reading the file it never mentioned them having any family. Perhaps they are doing this because they been neglected by them or maybe they died and now they have been left alone and they act out to try and get attention even if it is negative they only have each other and now they don't want to live in the shadows anymore they want people to know they have the power to do whatever they want and even though they act tough on the outside on the inside they are just scared children made to grow up too fast.
Cameron knew what he had to do. He had to open up his empathy and try and locate them, he knew it would be a sufficient way to find them and to protect them. As Cameron was getting ready to leave work that night he got this strange feeling. So he decided to ask his partner to follow him home and have a look.
“Hey um...Matthew do you mind following me home and having a look around with me?” Cameron muttered
“Why what’s wrong?” Matthew asked Cameron absentmindedly while playing with a paper clip
“I've got a feeling I know where the twins are.” Cameron said and headed out the door with Matthew on his heels.
Once they got there Cameron slowly began climbing the stairs to his apartment he started getting this strange sensation at the spot on his chest where his father had stabbed him and staggered back but continued to climb and Cameron would give a quick glance behind him to make sure Matthew was still there and each time he was.
Finally, as they reached his apartment door he went to put his key in the lock but the door slowly opened which was odd because he swore he had locked it before he left. As he started to walk in Matthew put his arm on his chest.
“I'm getting bad vibes from in there let me go first” Matthew whispered with his hand still on my chest.
“You can't go in there alone Matt,” I muttered but he just gave me a tender look and slowly walked in.
He was getting tired of things always happening in his house but he was still unsure as to what he was doing and how he was going to handle this on his own without the help of his mentors. Even though he is a stronger physic he would sometimes over use his powers and end up hurt or would be unconscious for days at a time having to reboot his powers. As he entered the room where they were he saw them for the first time standing by the window in the living room.
They were both wearing long black dusters and dark clothes and he could feel their powers in the small room but then as if it was nothing strange his powers masked theirs and he knew Matthew had to notice how could he not. He never realized how powerful he really was it was shocking to him and everyone else as well. After a short time of reasoning with them he was able to get them to come down to the office to work out a way to handle this situation.
This was all becoming a bit confusing because they had never had a case like this one before where the siblings had no family or friends that they could stay with. To make things worse the ones they were after are still among the living. After some time, they decided to put them in a safe house on the east coast in the United States with their other division because currently they are having an office built in the U.S.
After putting them on the plane Cameron headed back to his place and got changed into some running clothes and started out for his nightly run. As he was running he realized how lucky he was to have the friends that he does because he would probably go crazy if he didn't because he would be left alone to wander around the world afraid of what might happen to him. As he was running he didn't realize that he wasn't watching where he was going and ran into someone.
As he came back to reality he realized that he had ran into a beautiful girl with long pale blond hair with blue tips and ice blue eyes he could feel the power radiating off her. From what he could tell she was an elemental user and he was going to guess she was an ice user which was rare she was so stunning. She had pale skin and was rather tall for a girl everything about her complemented each other. As he extended his hand out to help her up he detected a German accent as she swore under her breath but as she looked up at him she just stared.
While all this was going on Cameron felt something he hadn't felt for almost a year and a half his heart beat. Once she was standing in front of him he felt this over whelming urge to get to know this beautiful woman. She looked about his age and was just a little bit shorter than he was with about the same build.
" Are you okay?” Cameron asked quietly.
“Yes” she replied with a thick German accent that seemed to fit her perfectly.
For some reason Cameron felt drawn to this stranger. Out of nowhere he slipped up and pointed out her abilities and she was so stunned she thought no one would ever figure out about her ability that it would stay a secret that she only knew.
“How do you know about that?” she asked Cameron.
“Because I have powers as well, that are much more powerful than your own.” Cameron simply stated. Then he gave her his number and told her to call but he needed one more thing then out of nowhere he asked, “What is your name?”
“My name is Abalinda” she answered with her thick German accent.
“Wow that's beautiful but what does it mean?” Cameron asked as he looked at this beautiful girl thinking her name had to mean something equal to her beauty.
“Well my name means beautiful serpent.” Replied Abalinda. Cameron was just amazed with her she was so incredibly beautiful and had the most wonderful name he had ever heard. After they said good-bye to each other Cameron took off on his run again.
As he ran it began to slowly rain and the cool drops felt good on his face as he ran he listened to the beat of his heart then out of nowhere he felt a surge of power from deep within he had no idea why it was like this then he realized he was standing in the graveyard. When he looked down and examined the dark, dirty tombstone he realized that there under the dirt and leaves was his name. On the base of the headstone laying there were a few dead dried out black roses wilted and old. How long had it been since his mother was here last?
That’s when he saw his mother wearing all black slowly walking toward his grave he could hear the leaves crunch under her feet as she walked and he could see the tears running down her face and that was when he realized that today was his birthday. That’s when the full impact hit that it had been a year since he died. Today was November 5th he would have been seventeen today. That was why she was coming to the graveyard she was putting fresh flowers on his grave. As she made her way over to his grave she got down on her knees and replaced the dead flowers Cameron just wanted to give her a hug and let her know that he was ok and that he was safe and would always be watching over her.
He was about to do something risky he bent down and placed a hand on her shoulder and she jumped a bit and then she suddenly became calm and at ease. Without even realizing it he eased her pain by letting his calmness envelope her.
“Mom I don’t know if you can hear me but I just wanted to let you know that you don’t have to worry about me. I am always with you just remember you are never alone I’m always by your side.”
And with that Cameron left knowing that if he stayed it would only cause him more pain and he would not be able to focus on helping the lost spirits. In that moment Cameron realized that he will go to loves end to help.
