The Ultimate Betrayal: When Revenge Turns to Love

The plane landed and all Alianah could think about was how several hours ago she had caught her ex-fiance and her sister hooking up right after her engagement party, she didn't know who she hated more, she did know she hated them both and she also knew she wanted revenge on the people that hurt her the most. Her plan for the time being was to stay on the island and come up with a way to hurt the people who hurt her, she wanted Roddrick to feel the pain she was feeling; she needed to let her mother know she was safe that she didn't need to send out a search party. When she turned her phone back on there were several messages from Roddrick and a few from her sister, Roddrick had gotten to the house and noticed she was gone and wanted to know where she was; her sister wanted to see if she had told their mother about anything from last night, she knew her sister would try to say that Roddrick and her were in love. She was done with her sister, she sent off a text telling her sister if she wanted Roddrick she could have him and that she never wanted to talk to her ever again, she wasn't going to tell their mother about anything, it would break her heart.

The room she booked was huge for the price she had paid, she was glad because she didn't want any neighbors to hear her cry herself to sleep at night; she knew she was not done crying over this but she was not going to let herself continue after she got back from her impromptu vacation, she would be done by then. There was a hot tub on the deck outside of the room, she quickly got undressed and headed to to the shower before she put on her bikini and got in the hot soothing water; closing her eyes she let the tears fall and didn't try to hold back. When Alainah was done crying she got out of the tub and headed to bed, it had been a long day and night and all she wanted to do was sleep for as long as she could; she was awoken to the sound of knocking on her room door, not sure who it was she cautiously went to the door.

"Who is it?"

"It's Richard, I recognized your name on the guest list and wanted to say hey", Richard was Roddrick's older brother, Alainah had never met him because he was always away for work during family get-togethers.

"Richard, what are you doing here? Did Roddrick find out where I am? You tell that cheating prick I don't want to ever talk to him again", she yelled through the door.

"I own the resort and Roddrick doesn't know where you are, I figured he would be coming later, I had no idea about the cheating, now can you please open the door, I feel silly talking through a door"

Alainah opened the door and allowed Richard to come inside she was unsure about the man; he could be on his brother's side and think what he did wasn't that bad, in that case, she would have to pack up and head to a new destination, she didn't want her ex to come and find her, he would try to convince her to come home and she wasn't ready yet. Richard headed to the living room to sit on the couch, Alainah was right behind him keeping a close eye on his expressions, she wanted to see how he reacted to what she was about to tell him.

"Right before I left to come here, I caught Roddrick and my sister Amyah hooking up"

"Wow, I didn't think my brother had it in him to do such a thing"

"Neither did I, I can't believe that d**k had the nerve to propose to me that same night"

"Damn, he really went for it didn't he, a proposal and cheating all in one night"

"I feel so stupid for thinking he was a good man, I must look like a real dumbass right now"

"I think my brother has that covered right now"

Alainah didn't know what came over her, she thought she had cried all her tears out in the hot tub but here she was about to start up again, and in front of her ex's brother no less, she felt pathetic doing that; Richard tried to comfort her, he held her close which only made her cry even harder into his chest. She cried for what felt like forever, and only when she realized she must look like a mess did she finally stop and pull back from the man holding her; Alainah felt silly letting a practical stranger hold her while she cried.

"I am so sorry, I don't know what came over me, I don't usually do that, I must look a mess"

"It's all right, given what you just went through, it's understandable that you would need to let it all out, I am just glad I was here to give you a bit of comfort"

"I just feel like such a fool for trusting him, how could he do that to me"

"My brother is the fool, you should worry about him, I won't tell me where you are, and don't worry about paying for anything while you are here, you are now my guest"

"You don't have to do that, it fine"

"Think of it as an almost family and friends discount then", that got Alainah to smile a little.

"Thanks, I am sure you have other things you need to get to, so if you need to leave I understand"

"Did you miss the part where I said I own the place, I can do whatever I want, why don't you get dressed and I can show you around the island"

Alainah felt nervous about hanging out with her ex's brother but she didn't want to be rude since he was being so nice to her; she put on her favorite sundress, it was the one she had bought when she and Roddrick were supposed to go on an island vacation last year, Roddrick had to work last minute. Now she was questioning if that was even true; when he came home that night he jumped right in the shower and wouldn't even hold her that night, she just assumed he was tired and didn't think too much about it, but now she was questioning every late night and business trip. She hated how this made her feel, she would be replaying every interaction between her sister and Roddrick, Alainah could feel herself spiraling and she didn't want to do that right now, she wanted to be over the hurt.

"Alright, I'm ready to go", Alainah could feel Richard undressing her with his eyes.

"You look incredible"

"Thanks, I just threw this thing on"

"Let me say this again, my brother was a fool to cheat on you"

"I know, now show me why you bought this island"

Alainah spent the rest of the day with Roddrick going all over the island, he showed her so much of the island, she didn't think she could see it all in one day; when they got back to her room he requested she join him for dinner at the hotel restaurant, she was apprehensive at first but then she got an idea. The idea was impulsive but she knew it would be the only way to hurt Roddrick the way he hurt her, she couldn't let Richard know what she was doing so she would have to be subtle about it, having an affair with her ex's brother was the only way.
