Vagrants seeking refuge under the bridges and inside the abandoned warehouses around the area notified locals who called police. They found the unconscious detective on the loading dock at the break of dawn. Lucic was rushed to Bellevue Hospital while police vessels were summoned to fish Benny Tracker’s body out of the river. He had left behind a wife and five kids, and the entire city was stunned by the tragic loss.
