CHAPTER NINE Steve Lurgan woke up the next morning near a sewer pipe set inside a gully. He was stark n***d, and rolled out from under some bushes to the opening where he found the trash bag he had set there. He quickly pulled on the clothes and retrieved his belongings, smiling wryly at the thought of a vagrant coming across the bag only to come face-to-face with the wolf. He shoved his wallet into his pocket, put on his Rolex watch, then called Darko Lucic on his cell phone. “Steve,” he answered. “I found Jana outside the complex and brought her back to the City. She’s back at her place, I hope she’s sleeping it off.
