In the beginning
Over the summer it felt as if there would never be another moment of happiness for myself. My mother says changes are good things, but I yet to see the good in this move 3000 miles away from every thing Ive ever known.
“Drya! Get your but in this car right now!” My mother screams.
“Coming Mom!”
Today feels different I’m 17 an 11 months old waiting to turn a new chapter of life at college next year.
As we drive I can’t help but gaze into the day as it becomes night. So many trees passing by with a mist covered ground. Coming to a stop at a set of gates that read “Wulver County.”
I began thinking I have heard this before but where??? I decided I would worry about it later now I just wanted my bed.
I watched as we were motioned thru the gates, I tried asking my Mom Agatha about the prison like features she was quick to push it off, “ don’t worry my child all will be explained soon enough.”
“Couldn’t be anymore cryptic could you mom?” I asked under my breath.
“Young lady!” She scolded me.
“Mom, you’re the worst super human ever with that hearing.”
She began giggling softly to herself.
“Oh my dear girl”
I became amazed as were pulled to our new home a two story cottage with a wrap around deck and swing.
Rushing into the house I begin inspecting searching for something what I’m not sure, this place is familiar but I don’t know how.
Walking down the upstairs hall there at the end a door with the most beautiful tree etched into it. I feel drawn to it like something pulling by me closer an closer.
As I walk slower towards the door my mother comes to the top of the stairs.
“Drya, be careful, something here feels different.”
I turn to my mother as I reach for the door with my right hand “ Don’t worry mom, it’s just a door.”
“DRYA!!” Is all I hear before the world turns black.
