introduction
The room was dark and the atmosphere outside was serene. The only sounds that could be heard Inside room 402 of Grand hotel was a woman's soft moans and a man's low grunts. Entangled with a stranger in bed, all Avery could see was a silhouette, nothing else was visible due to the poor lighting in the room. For hours, the man tortured her endlessly. The drugs running in her system making her behave wantonly. She could no longer recognize herself anymore as she moved to his tempo. He was a beast. The onslaught continued until she passed out, worn out. Five years later. " Mommy! Aren't you going to wake up?" The soft voice of a boy pulled Avery out of her slumber. " What time is it?" She mumbled in her sleepy voice, rubbing her eyes. " It's eight in the morning. I am hungry." The little boy said. Tyler, Avery's son was almost five years old. At five years, he tried as much as possible not to give his mother a hard time. He was a reasonable young boy who behaved more maturely than his own age. Ofcourse, Avery knew the reason her son was sensible was to avoid being a burden to her. Not like she would ever refer her adorable little munchkin as burden. Sometimes, she can't help but pity her little one for having to mature early and act out of her age. He was the result of that one night stand she had with a stranger five years ago. Now that she was back from abroad, she was determined to find her father's son. That aside, she had to prepare something for the little boy. Afterall, no matter how sensible Tyler was, at the end of the day, he was still a child and couldn't bear some things. " Give me a moment, then we will go shopping. Mommy will cook something delicious for you." Avery replied. Although Tyler had a frown marred on his aloof face, he still nodded. Praying in mind that his mother doesn't end up burning the kitchen before she could prepare anything edible. " I know that look Jonas." Avery reprimanded and the little boy just shrugged before exiting the room.Avery could only shake her head helplessly. To her son, she was a clumsy mother who needed her son to watch her back everytime.Actually, five years ago when she left, she had zero skills in cooking. All her life, she never came across a kitchen. Life abroad taught her many things, among them was that you needed to know your way in the kitchen to survive. Over the years, she had to learn how to prepare basic dishes. She couldn't feed her little boy takeaway food everyday nor was she rich to afford a housemaid. After changing from her pajamas, Avery walked to the sitting room and found Tyler already dressed waiting for them. The mother and son duo had arrived at the country yesterday from abroad. Since Avery was afraid of hotels ever since that night five years ago, she bought a small apartment where she would be living with her son. She was here on a mission to successfully close a certain business deal. If she managed to deal with that matter, she would be granted a transfer back here. After five years, she was hell-bent on finding the father of her son so she figured out for that to happen, she had to first settle in the country. That was not all, she had debts to collect from afew people who owed her. Since they just got here yesterday, the fridge was empty so the young man had to be fed somehow. She figured that they either had to order takeaway or go grocery shopping. The second option seemed healthier to Avery. Usually, Avery would cook food and stock it in the refrigerator. Anytime Tyler was hungry, he would only have to warm the food. Her son was not picky with food and ate whatever his mother prepared for him. He never made a fuss about her poor cooking skills and Avery was thankful for that. They left in a cab and drove to the convenient store near their residence. When they stepped down, it happened again. Usually, Avery would avoid going to crowded areas with her little boy. The little boy had the magic to attract people's attention albeit without knowing or doing anything. Tyler just had to stroll around leisurely and people will not be able to take their eyes off him. Anybody passing by them would be compelled to turn and take a second glance at the boy. At First, Avery was scared but as time went by, she got used to it. It would sometimes get messy with people clicking pictures of the little lad. Tyler who was the center of attention however was looking unaffected and oblivious to everything. He mantained an expressionless face as he followed his mother to the store. Avery was amazed at how well his son handled matters. His intelligent was above that of ordinary children. Sometimes, even she felt embarrassed of her IQ compared to her son's. It had to be said that Tyler took everything from her father. If it wasn't for his forest green eyes, Avery would definitely claim that the child was exchanged at birth. He was a composed young boy with good manners. He seemed to get it all from his father. ' Atleast he is handsome.' Avery consoled herself seeing her son's handsome face. She knew nothing about the stranger who dominated her that night years ago, not a name nor even his looks. Thinking about how passionate he was with her that night, her face turned beet red from embarrassment. She has zero knowledge about the matters between men and women. That man years ago was her first but judging from how skilful he was, she could swear he was experienced. She was deeply invested in her thoughts that she didn't Know that her son had strayed from her. Avery went about shopping, picking everything they would be needing. She was usually a forgetful person. She would go out to shop but feel that she has forgotten something but only remember when she got home. Things changed after she had Tyler. He would write the list of items for his mother or alternatively remind her whatever it is she forgot. " Tyler, have we picked everything we need?" Avery asked and when she heard no reply, she turned to look behind her. Only then did she realize that her son was not behind her. " Where could he go?" She murmured to herself as she tried to locate him while pushing a cart with her. Tyler would always tag behind her everytime they went shopping. He wasn't the one to run around so she couldn't help but wonder where the little boy went. If it was abroad, she wouldn't be worried but they just got here. Tyler was not familiar with this place. She was worried that he would get lost or even run into bad guys.
