Alex's P.O.V
"s**t!... why is this lady not picking up my call". I grumbled to myself.
Priscilla ought to have arrived at least three hours ago, and here I was, kept in the wait by some random girl. She was a street girl who frequented the clubs and stations too, I chose her because of her ability to 'blend into any situation' which I saw in her.
"Hey Lexyyy". Her voice rang out behind me. I turned around to see her dressed in a red velvet gown and batting her eyelids towards me in a bid to stop me from lashing out at her.
"Why didn't you pick up your calls.., I've been here for a while now". I asked in a cool voice. Her 'ease the tension game' taking its effect on me.
"I was just doing what you assigned me to do". She replied.
"You know the girl is not that easy to get through, she might seem naive but she doesn't open up easily to people". She continued, her face masked with displeasure.
"I know right, but I picked you because I trust your judgement and ability in perfectly handling this job". I argued.
"Okay Lexyyy, I understand your point and trust me everything is going on fine, but I think this girl is not worth all this drama, she doesn't even know about the origin of the company except the paperwork, not to even talk about the document". She replied, ending her sentence with a hiss to show her displeasure.
"You're talking this way because you don't know Andrew Maxwell, he's not naive or clueless as his daughter, and from what I heard about him from my Father, he loves holding the last card in games, he's always one step or plans ahead of the rest of the gang" I responded in a frantic tone.
"I get that you're very concerned and worried about this issue, but I've been friends and in a matter of fact, best of friends with her just as you wanted me to be, and I can tell you she completely knows nothing about any of this stuff, the only...." She continued to say.
"You're not getting this Priscy!!!..." I cut her off, starting to get terribly pissed.
"I have a gut feeling, she is the key to this puzzle piece and my instinct never fails me". I pressed on.
"You didn't allow me to finish up what I was about to say", She said in an angry tone.
"I'm sorry, I was just a bit pissed". I apologized and waited for her response.
"You need to calm down and learn to control your feelings dear".She replied.
"Are you going to tell me now?, or continue with the pep talks and advice, I don't have all day!". I responded angrily.
"Oops, so sorry… what I was about to say was, I think that the only way is to make her remember what happened in the past, so we get the necessary information from there". She said.
"No, no, no…. that's too risky!". I countered.
"I know, but what if doing that to her would make her remember anything special she was told by her dad or special moments with him that would at least give us a clue to all these". She replied, trying to convince me and also to make me see sense in her plan.
"Uhm… I have to think about this first, let's meet at my place by Sunday evening". I finally said, not sure about her plan though it seemed like a concrete one and a feasible option to carry out.
"Besides, you need to improve on your romance game with Juan to gain her total trust". She threw the last jab at me.
Priscilla's P.O.V
I went straight to meet Alex at our usual spot immediately after the party, had plans to sly him on this meeting but couldn't do it whenever I think of how he changed me. I was a street girl whose only purpose was to go to clubs, and parties, get drunk and also get arrested but all that changed when Alex met me and gave me a new assignment.
"Hey Lexyyy". I called out to him, walked towards him batting my eyelids and hoping all that with my red velvety dress would be enough to calm him down and avoid any arguments from him.
"Why didn't you pick up your calls… I've been here for a while now". He asked in a cool voice which meant my 'ease the tension game' worked on him.
"I was just doing what you assigned me to do". I replied, hoping it was a satisfactory answer.
"You know the girl is not that easy to get through, she might seem naive but she doesn't open up easily to people" I added, getting disgusted at this point.
"I know right, but I picked you because I trust your judgement and ability in perfectly handling this job". He argued.
"Okay Lexyyy, I understand your point and trust me everything is going on fine, but I think this girl is not worth all this drama, she doesn't even know about the origin of the company except the paperwork, not to even talk about the document". I replied, ending the sentence with a hiss to show my displeasure.
"I don't understand the reason he gives so much credit to a girl that is as naive as Juan". I thought to myself.
"You're talking this way because you don't know Andrew Maxwell, he's not naive or clueless as his daughter, and from what I heard about him from my Father, he loves holding the last card in games, he's always one step or plans ahead of the rest of the gang" He responded in a frantic tone.
"I get that you're very concerned and worried about this issue, but I've been friends and a matter of fact, best of friends with her just as you wanted me to be, and I can tell you she completely knows nothing about any of these stuff, the only...." I continued to say.
"You're not getting this Priscy!!!..." Alex shouted, cutting me off from my statement.
"I have a gut feeling, she is the key to this puzzle piece and my instinct never fails me". He pressed on.
"You didn't allow me to finish up what I was about to say", I said in an angry tone.
"I'm sorry, I was just a bit pissed". He apologized and waited for my response.
"You need to calm down and learn to control your feelings dear".I replied, still pissed about the way he cut me off.
"Are you going to tell me now?, or continue with the pep talks and advice, I don't have all day!". He responded angrily.
"Oops, so sorry..., what I was about to say was, I think the only way is to make her remember what happened in the past, so we get necessary information from there". I said, not willing to drag the argument any further.
Besides, She keeps telling me about some stupid nightmare of a Prince Charming in her life, which might be connected". I continued.
"No, no, no..., that's too risky!". He countered.
"I know, but what if doing that to her would make her remember anything special she was told by her dad or special moments with him that would at least give us a clue to all these". I replied, trying to convince him and also to make him see the reasoning in my plan.
"Uhm..., I have to think about this first, let's meet at my place by Sunday evening". He finally said, though his face still carried doubt about what I had just told him.
"Besides, you need to improve on your romance game with Juan to gain her total trust". I threw the last jab at him.
He merely rolled his eyes and got out of the bar.
"Whew!!!..., that was heated". I said to myself, happy I could finally have some alone time for myself.
Felix's P.O.V.
"I need to know what Alex is after this time", I said to myself, the thought of "Finrich Group of Companies" joining the applicants in a project that they've always been a co-sponsor had bugged me these past weeks. I knew it wasn't the money that Alex, the Managing Director was after, he had to have something up his sleeves, no doubt about that.
"Good day, Boss". Isabella's voice pulled me out of my thoughts, I had invited him over to my place to talk things out and hear his opinion.
Isabella can be weird and different in all areas but he was good in listening and giving concrete advice which was what I loved him for, making me close to him over the years.
"C'mon, drop the formalities", I replied amidst smiles.
"We're just friends outside the office and besides also age mates". I added.
"But you're still my boss, anywhere, any day, anytime". He countered, adding a mock bow to his statement. We both laughed at that.
I pressed the table button, a signal to Clara, my favourite kitchen staff, to attend to us.
"At your service sir". She appeared and said almost immediately.
"Make some fruit salad for my friend, while I get a fruit punch". It was very funny that we both loved fruits but enjoyed it in different ways.
"Won't be long sir". Clara said and made her way to the kitchen.
"Hmmm, back to why I called you here Isabella, don't you find anything strange or odd about this year's BIG PROJECT applicants?". I said to him as soon as Clara left.
"Erm.... I actually find it amusing and shocking that "Finrich Group of Companies" would be so interested in this". He replied.
"I feel we need to map out a plan or strategy to counter any bad moves from them". He continued.
"That's true and it's exactly what we'll do, but we need to consider someone in our decisions". I replied.
"Who?" Isabella said, throwing a quizzical look towards me.
"Juan". I spat out.
"Whyyy? She is a staff in that company and might even be an accomplice to their game plan". He retorted.
"Or is there anything more to it that I don't know about?". He asked, looking confused.
"Not really, but you'll get to know as time goes on".
"Any ideas on whatever plan we can execute?" I continued.
"We have to use Juan for this boss". Isabella said.
"What!...why does it have to be her?". I replied, wanting to understand where this was headed.
"You'll have to get close to her and make her trust you, so we'll get answers from her". He answered.
"I have reasons to believe she's the key to all of these". Isabella continued.
"Wow… this would be a really hard task". I sighed.
"It won't be that hard, as long as you don't allow emotions to cloud your judgement, no matter what". He pressed on.
"And that emotion is the real issue here, I never thought we would have to cross paths again". I thought to myself.
"Is everything alright sir". Isabella's voice rang out, bringing me back to reality.
"Erm...Yes!...we've got this figured out". I said to avoid further questions from him.
"But not completely figured out" I grumbled within myself.
