Celyn arrived at her mum’s company with Yna, who handled her handbag. “Good morning Miss Celyn.” Celyn's personal assistant, Yna, greeted her warmly. “Good morning Yna”, Celyn responded with a warm smile. “How’re you doing today?” “And what time is my meeting scheduled with the Winmarks?” Celyn asked politely. “Ma, what meeting again ? Yna asked her boss. “There’s a scheduled meeting between Reyes and Winmarks today according to the mail you sent to me.” Celyn answered immediately, turning to Yna. “Ma’am the meeting was canceled early this morning by the board of directors,” Yna replied. Celyn was surprised and speechless at that moment. She didn’t expect to hear that a meeting that would help her secure a multi-million contract had just been canceled without prior notice. “On whose order?” Celyn asked angrily. “ Ma—Ma’am, I think we need to act fast about the contract with the Winmarks. "The company’s other lead investors want to leave as well,” Yna interrupted her boss. Celyn had always wanted to secure a contract with the Winmarks. She had envisioned making Reyes & Co bigger. She couldn’t let this one big opportunity slip off her hands. “Why was the meeting canceled by the board of directors without anyone informing me?” Celyn asked, feeling infuriated. Yna couldn’t give a valid response to her boss’s question. She insisted her boss calm down and hold a meeting with the board of directors. Celyn listened to whatever Yna had to say when it came to the affairs of the company. She worked with Mrs Cristina Reyes for a short while, before she handed over to her daughter. “Fix a board meeting immediately!” Celyn Commanded. Celyn walked in sharply into the conference room as she had called for a meeting. She wore a burnt orange corporate gown with high heels. Her hair crashed on her shoulders, giving a cool boss lady vibe. She greeted everyone present and sat down at her rightful position. She bluntly asked them the reason why the meeting with the Winmarks was canceled without no one informing her. The oldest member of the director sharply cut in, “No offense Miss, you can’t handle that contract. "I know your mother handed over this company to you, but that’s pure carelessness!” “You came out of nowhere, and you already want to handle a contract? That’s totally unacceptable by the board.” Celyn became furious and fired back“Are you indirectly calling me incompetent?” “You don’t have the right to speak to me in such a manner, Ser.” Celyn angrily said, sprouting up from her seat while she hit the table hard. Yna tried to calm her down but Celyn wasn’t having it. She insisted she must go on with the contract with or without other members of the team. Celyn was later made to understand the true situation of the company and how tough the owners of Winmarks could be if anything went wrong with the contract. Celyn left the meeting after a short while. Back at her office she kept thinking about what to do to prove all the doubts of the directors wrong and make Reyes & Co. Company among the lead again. Yna, who could visibly see how Celyn was disturbed in her thoughts, didn't know what to do either. They were both confused at this point. “You need to take some time off today, Miss.” “We are definitely going to pull through this. Just get me every information about Mr. Carlo Buenavista and send them to my email before dusk”, Celyn meaningly replied. Immediately her phone rang, it was her lover. Celyn’s mood was not so receptive over the phone as it used to be. The call ended shortly after. Yna left for her office afterward. She needed to get to work and gather every information as her boss had commanded her. She was wondering why her boss would ask her to source information about a billionaire instead of focusing on the issue at hand. She could barely lift a pen when an email popped up. Yna didn’t know how to relate the content of the email to her boss. “What’s the matter again? Celyn asked surprisingly because Yna left her office not too long ago. “Ma we got mail from…?” Yna stammered. “Yes, from whom?” Celyn asked sharply. Again, Celyn’s phone buzzed and interrupted the news Yna had brought. This time the call was from her family doctor. “Good day Miss Celyn, I think your urgent attention is needed immediately at the hospital!” The doctor stated. “Hospital? What for? "I don’t have any family members admitted in your hospital nor do I have any appointment today, so why urgent attention?” Celyn asked. “It’s a matter of life and death, Miss Celyn”, the call dropped. Celyn was perplexed. She can’t remember having a family member that had such a health condition that can be a life and death situation. She couldn’t think of anyone at the moment. “Oh my World!” she remarked sadly. “Is everything okay Ma’am.?” Yna asked, feeling concerned. Yna, who had been thrown into disarray as well, didn't know what to say when her boss asked her about the content of the mail again. She felt pity for her and didn’t want to add more to what was already going on. “Ma, it’s best you get to the hospital on time, the mail can wait,” Yna said calmly. Celyn insisted on knowing the content of the mail but Yna promised to forward the details to her mail towards evening. She agreed to what her P.A said, packed up and left for the hospital without further delay.
