Ruby POV:
We spotted a cloud of black smoke a mile out from the base.
Xavier couldn't sit still, and before the helicopter even landed, he opened the door and jumped out.
Axel followed behind him.
I waited until the helicopter was at least on the ground before getting out and rushing towards the building.
Around us, there were dead bodies scattered on the ground, both humans and vampires.
"How did they attack during the day?" I asked out loud as I looked around me.
"Natalie! Dad!" Xavier yelled as he entered the building as Axel and I followed close behind.
Soldiers rushed in behind us, and the werewolves that had gone with us killed the vampires that still appeared to be alive but wounded.
"f**k," Presley mumbled.
When I looked around, he was staring down at a female soldier on
