Axel stepped towards me cautiously. "Come with me, Ruby." He held his hand out towards the door.
I swallowed, suddenly feeling parched. I moved towards Axel, maintaining a safe distance from him as I went by him to go through the door. Now would be the worst possible time for me to have a meltdown. I sent an apologetic look to Xavier.
Axel closed the door behind us. "Let's take a breather, okay?"
