Ruby POV: It took an hour for us to get to the town. I wasn't ready for what we saw. I've always been a fan of apocalyptic movies. There had always been something about a city in ruin with the heroes and heroines fighting to survive that seemed entertaining to me. Now, I was a part of something like that, and it wasn't entertaining at all. It was terrifying. As we drove through the small town slowly, I looked from side to side in shock at the destroyed buildings, burnt cars and rubbish scattered everywhere. We were driving through what was now a ghost town with not a soul in sight. Then it hit me-a whiff of the repulsive stench I'd come to associate with vampires. I looked over at Xavier on my right and then at Axel on my left. Axel was busy staring out his window, his fists clenched.
