‘I am on the tracks, all the way around’ Brie texted back making Ken sigh as he walked towards the tracks
Brie straightened up when she saw Ken approaching her and gave him an awkward smile from where she stood in the middle of the tracks where she had been pacing around.
“Okay, what do you want?” Ken asked
“I-I wanted to talk to you, nothing else” Brie said stuttering
“You made me come all this way so you could simply chit chat?” Ken said in a low threatening voice
After a moment of silence Ken groaned in annoyance and turned to leave when Brie finally cleared her throat and started
“Don’t go” Brie said making Ken stop in his track as he started to turn around Brie continued
“Don’t go o-or I’ll tell Jane about before” she said her voice breaking as she flinched when Ken turned around
“Tell Jane what?” Ken asked menacingly
“About everything you’ve done before” Brie said, her voice starting to be more composed when she noticed the Frecks of fear in Ken’s eyes
“Jane won’t believe anything you say” Ken said with a nervous chuckle
“Well I can still call Jenny and-” Jane started as Ken took long strides and rushed towards Brie making her take quick steps back
“You still have that b***h’s number? I thought you were my friend? Why did you keep her number Brie? So you could do this to me now? Huh? Blackmail me with my mistakes when I’m finally happier?” Ken said frantically, his voice slowly rising as Brie cowered before him at a loss for words
Ken stood there breathing heavy for a second and then broke into a loud , taunting laugh.
“I’ll tell Jane everything before you do, she’s going to understand me, she always does and always will” Ken declared decisively when Brie finally spoke in a small voice
“You don’t have to...” she whimpered as Ken’s glare burned holes through her face as he waited for her to continue
“Just don’t leave me and stay by my side like you have, we can forget this ever happened and be b-best friends like before” Brie said sounding as reasonable as she could.
Ken seemed to ponder over this for a minute as he cracked a smile “Look at you beg” he said painfully slow “Begging for little old Kenneth for attention and friendship”
Brie was once again at a loss of words “K-Ken..”
“Okay, I accept, I’ll give you some charity friendship and you won’t...you know what, we have a deal here” Ken said as he extended his hand for Brie to shake
Brie shook his hand, feeling as little about herself as she could.
As Ken walked backed he felt a spark in his chest, he was happy about how that went down, as he walked closer to the class where Jane was he noticed she was now standing outside it, her arms folded over her chest as she looked in front of her.
Ken jogged up to her with a grin as she turned around and gladly returned the smile.

-At Jane’s apartment-
‘I should call Bailey she’d want to know what happened’ Jane thought to herself as she got out of the shower and lay down on her bed with her robe on
Jane grabbed her phone from on top of the pillow and she held it up as her eyes flickered between her phone screen and the ceiling.
The pure white ceiling was so comforting that she kept her phone down next to her and allowed herself to space out as she stared on at the ceiling.
Her eyes started closing in as her breathing steadied. She felt herself fall into darkness as slumber took her in his arms.
Darkness, it was all around, darkness that made her chest hurt as her body felt like it was caving into itself.
She heard it then, the whispers that were being hushed into her ears ever so softly but ever so tauntingly.
“You failed us...you failed me” she heard laughter, it was loud, very loud and menacing, it made her want to rip her ears out but instead she felt herself grip her chest desperately.
She had something to say, it was at the tip of her tongue but it would not leave her.
Her heart started pounding as she ran, away from the whispers, away from the darkness, but the further she ran, the louder it got, the darker it got, the lonelier it got.
She was running down invisible dark stairs , as she got lower, the dread in her chest increased.
Her chest started to feel tighter and small, her heart seemed to get too big and too loud for her, but she continued to run, gripping her chest tight, down the dark dreadful stairs.
Finally, it ended, she could feel it in her chest, it was near, she could finally get away, she saw the last stair in front of her.
She leaped onto the step but slipped and-
Jane woke up with a jerk, her hands were limp to her side and she could feel her heart beat through her body, every part of her body was throbbing.
Sweating and heaving, Jane trembled as she turned to her side. Her eyes laid onto the phone, now in front of her as tears ran trickled down the side of her face as she sniffled and broke into sobs. She cried, every sob louder than the first.
She let her mind travel back as it played the things she had been hiding in her mind for so long.

-In Ken’s apartment-
‘I can’t believe I found her, I found my soulmate’ he thought to himself as he stared at Jane’s picture and grinned
His phone pinged and a notification made it’s way onto his screen, he growled as Brie’s name popped onto his screen.
‘Jenny had asked me to keep her number with me just in case I change my mind and want to date her brother...I think I should take her offer now’
Ken rolled his eyes as he read Brie’s text and replied with a ‘K’
He quickly went back to his gallery and stared at Jane one last time as the smile returned onto his face and he sighed happily.
He went back to his texts, clicked on Jane’s name and typed, with a grin on his face.
“Thank you making me the happiest man every day, can’t wait to see you tomorrow for our date, I’ll pick you up at noon tomorrow, Goodnight Angel”

-The next day-
Jane stared at her phone screen as ‘Mom’ flashed on it, she stared at it until the phone turned blank and her music started blasting through the speakers again.
She looked back up at the mirror in front of her and continued to dab products onto her face, humming along to the music as she smiled at the thought of Ken coming to pick her up any moment now.
She was dressed up in her pink sundress, with little flowers decorating the collar. Her coat lay on the bed behind her along with her little pink purse.
She had spent all morning looking for the best date outfit in her closet, it had left her apartment in a mess but that was for her to worry about later.
She didn’t let her mind wander to anything, especially last night. She had her swollen eyes enough a reminder for that.
Taking a last look at the mirror she trotted back to the bed and plopped down on it.
