-The next day-
“No ways!” Jane screamed dramatically while Kenneth chuckled
They were seated in the taco bell place near their university and Ken had just told her that their orders matched … and she hadn’t thought much of it until
“Are you mocking me?” Jane said pointedly as she saw Ken copy her as he emptied out most of his taco’s fillings
Ken stopped with his taco in his hand mid-air and looked at her and down to her taco
“Shut up” Jane said with a grin “That’s actually insane” she continued as her grin widened
Ken gave her a lopsided grin and simply said "Great minds think alike “
“Make me anymore attractive?” he continued wiggling his eyebrows at her suggestively
“If that was even possible” Jane said and a blush started making its way up her face as she saw Ken’s gaze deepen.
“You keep surprising me” Ken stated as his smile grew.

-In Kenneth’s apartment-
“We spend the whole day together, it’s amazing” Ken said with a smile
“Stop grinning b***h” The person on the other side of the call said
“Ho-”
“I can literally hear it” She said, cutting him off and laughing “You whipped ass” She stated teasingly
“ I am” Ken replied with a chuckle
“I still don’t think stalking her was the best idea for all this though...” He heard her say hesitantly
“You wouldn’t be saying that if you saw the happiness on her face at taco bell” Ken said defensively
“It’s not rig-” She started but was cut off by an annoyed Ken
“This is why I didn’t tell you about it before” He said “I am not doing anything wrong! I just want to be the best for her, doing a little... research for that is not wrong”
“Just don’t do it again, it’s not research, it’s stalking” She said, trying to sound as reasonable as possible so he wasn’t triggered
“We are supposed to be together! From the time I saw her, I knew I wanted to stay by her side, if she would have me” Ken said, for the hundredth time that day “She’s happy with me, way happier than she was before, I know how to treat her and what she likes, I am not harming her, I just want to treat her the way she wants” Ken finished firmly.
“Alright, alright...calm down will you, geez” he got a reply
“I would like it if you didn’t try and get me away from her, Brie” He said sourly
“Ouch you mean ass puppy” Brie said bitterly
Ken sighed “I’m going to sleep now, goodnight” He said and disconnected the call
As he lay down on the bed of his tiny apartment, he closed his eyes and thought of Jane as his mind travelled to a lighter and happier place.

-In Jane’s apartment-
“Baby bayyyy” Jane spoke into the phone
“Heyyy” she heard Bailey say cheerfully
“How is my beautiful sister doing?” Jane asked with a grin
“You sound way too happy these days” Bailey commented smugly
“Bailey...You were right for once, I deserved this chance, he’s great” Jane said as her heart pounded
“I am glad Ben isn’t in my life anymore” she continued as she swayed around in her room, dancing to music in her head
“I am proud of you” she heard Bailey say
-Later at night-
Jane was scrolling through i********: late at night, grinning as she saw couple posts and memes and related it to her and Ken 'Soon' she kept thinking to herself when a notification popped up.

-The next day-
Jane and Ken were sitting in class, waiting for it to start when Jane suddenly remembered that she had wanted to ask if Ken knew the Brie person who had followed and messaged her yesterday.
“Oh right, Ken... who’s this person that you follo-” Jane was cut off when a student ran into their class and frantically shouted
“SOMEONE WAS FOUND DEAD IN THE YARD! EVERYONE HAS BEEN ASKED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASS AND NOT LEAVE!” He shouted and ran out of the class.
The class remained quiet for a second, everyone registering what had just happened and then suddenly, the whole class and eventually the whole corridor was filled with whispered gushes.
“What the f**k just happened” Ken commented as he stared at the door
Jane just sat and let her self calm down, her heart was pounding so hard that it made it hard for her to even move, breathe or respond to Ken.
Ken looked over next to him at Jane and blinked “Hey! Jane? Are you alright?” He asked, worried as he softly wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
He felt her slightly shiver as he held her close, gently swaying their bodies as they remained quiet for a minute until Ken started whispering comforting things like “I’m right here, you’re okay, it’s going to be fine” to Jane
She finally started calming down and pulled away from him “I-I’m sorry” she said, her voice breaking
“It’s alright” Ken said awkwardly as they looked away from each other
The bell’s ringing saved them from further embarrassment as everyone got up almost together and started rushing out into the doorway.
Jane and Kenneth awkwardly made their way out of the door, after everyone else
Closing it behind them, they followed everyone else to the main hall and waited in front of the stage for the announcement.
Soon enough, the principal made her way onto the stage and spoke firmly into the mic
“As you all have already been informed, an unfortunate event has taken place in the premises of our university” she said this and waited for a second, and spoke again “ Ms. Kelsey Smith’s body was found and reported by a student near the cafeteria”
The hall filled with whispers, murmurs and gasps.
“She was been taken to the hospital but...we were just informed that she has sadly left us...” the voice in the mic boomed as everyone fell into silence
“The management is co-operating with the police as we try and find out the cause behind this incident and hence, every one of you is being asked to leave for today and if you have any information about Ms. Smith please meet and let me know”
The principal ended the announcement with a plea to remember Kelsey Smith in our prayers.
As everyone walked out of the hall, Kenneth and Jane looked at each other as they a look of horror ran down each of their faces
Kelsey Smith was the girl Ben cheated on Jane with...

-Later-
Jane and Ben had been called over to the principal’s office right after the assembly along with and some of Kelsey’s friends, all of them had mascara’s running down their faces.
Jane’s chest tightened as she looked at them and she immediately found herself looking for Ken to lean on.
Jane looked around her, hoping that Ken had followed them but disappointment settled in the pit of her stomach when she didn’t find him and she hugged herself, pulling on the sleeves of her hoodie and wrapping her arms around herself.
Just as she nervously sat waiting in front of the main office, stealing glances at Ben who constantly kept staring at her.
Jane felt herself sink further into the chair she was seated in until she felt an arm wrap around her.
“Ken” she heard herself say, her voice filled with relief.
“Hey, I’m sorry I lost you, you just walked out somewhere in a trance and I wasn’t sure if you’d wanted me to follow you...but I’m glad I did now” He explained, whispering the last part.
Jane didn’t say anything to him but just moved over closer to him and almost curled up against him.
“Thank you” she muttered under her breath, loud enough for him to hear it
Ken just smiled slightly and held her close.
They remained in the quiet corridor, while Ben and Kenneth were having a glaring contest and the receptionist sat and gave Ken and Jane bitter looks.
Suddenly the sounds of feet approaching made all of them look towards the duo of cops who were accompanying a girl as they walked closer to them and right past them, nodding towards the receptionist and barging into the principal's office.
Jane sat up straight and looked at Kenneth’s face which had turned completely pale.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Jane asked softly nudging his side.
“Her...that’s Brie” He said, his voice filled with confusion
“Brie..?” Jane repeated as the name from yesterday flashed through her head
“What’s she doing here?” She heard Kenneth say as a feeling of dread settled in both of their stomachs.
Something was about to go down.
