NIGHTMARES
Phil's nightmares began immediately after he celebrated his eighteenth birthday. It all starts when he's running in the middle of the woods. A place which he had never been before. He wasn't sure if he was running away from something or running towards something. Without any warning, he finds himself in a clearing deep inside the woods and in the middle, there was a ghostly house with lights flickering inside. He could see shadows moving around in the house and could not make them out. The shadowy figures seemed to be talking, but all he could hear were murmurs. He started moving towards the front of the house and when he was about to open the door, a cold chill ran through his body as if to tell him to stop and that's when a beastly figure appeared behind him and grabbed him by his throat, lifting him high up. He could feel its claws choking him. The beastly figure throws him towards the woods and Phil hits his back on the trees surrounding the clearing. Phil gets up and starts running away from the house, away from the beastly figure trying to kill him. While running through the woods, he could feel the beastly presence close to him but could not see where it was. All he knew was that he had to keep a distance between him and the house in the woods.
He was running so fast he could feel himself floating in the air. The trees were passing him so fast as if he was in a car going miles per second. Although he was moving fast, he could not shake away the feeling of the beastly figure still on him. And to make it all worse, he wasn't sure of his whereabouts. Everything in the woods felt strange to him. It felt like he was in a never ending maze of trees. Without warning, he finds himself in the clearing again and with the ghostly house still there. He could still see the shadowy figures inside the house. For some moments he had escaped from the beastly figure chasing him. He started moving towards the house and this time he could hear the faint words being murmured by the figures inside the house "find us". These two words started to echo in his head, and they were the only words he could make out from the continuous murmuring coming from the house. He moved towards the door slowly, this time very courteous not to be jumped by the beastly figure. As he reached for the door knob...a slow angry growl came from behind him, he froze and a chilling feeling ran down through his spine. The growl grew closer and closer and he could hear the cracking of sticks and rattling of leaves behind him. He started turning around slowly and all he could see was a red, glowing pair of eyes around the clearing in the woods. There were like ten pairs of deep red glowing eyes watching him. He could also hear their growls. He wasn't sure what to do next. What became clear, was that the beastly figures were either protecting what was in the house or they were afraid of what was in it being unleashed. Phil had to quickly think being surrounded by glowing red eyes was becoming too scary. He thought of opening the door and taking a gamble with whoever was behind the door, but he had to move fast if that was the option he chose.
This nightmare was different for all the others. Every time he reached for the door, the beastly figure would attack him and prevent him from opening the door. Every time he would wake up when a figure appeared. Sometimes it would even be just the hands of the figure with ten-inch claws that would attack Phil. Fearing being attacked every time, he would force himself to wake up. This is because the nightmares felt real each and every night. But this time it was different. For the first time he could make out two words coming from the shadowy figures in the house, and this time he managed to run away from the beastly figure and find himself back at the house. Maybe this time he could open the doors and the nightmares would end once and for all. He turned and reached for the door knob as quickly as he could not, caring about anything that was happening around him. He could feel the beastly figure moving towards him and the red-glowing eyes started disappearing into the woods. As he turned the door knob, he felt a strong wind start to blow around the house. The lights in the house all went off. The presence of the beastly figure was no longer with him. The wind grew stronger and stronger as he continued to twist the door knob. Then the earth started shaking so violently and he started hearing voices coming from the house,"find us", "help us",Phil. Just as he was about to open the door...the woods were filled with wolves howling. It sounded like there were hundreds of wolves in the woods. Then the door knob slipped from his grasp and the door flew open.Inside the house was pitch black. A felt a force pull him inside and the door shut behind him. For a moment, there was total silence in the house.
Then Phil started feeling a presence in the room with him. "Who is there", Phil asked in a very weak and shaky voice. Fear had taken over and he was unable to move even an inch. All he knew was that he wasn't alone in the ghostly house. The presence he felt was dark and sinister. He wasn't sure what he had gotten himself into. "Who is there"asked Phil a second time. He started doubting if the presence there was in need of any help or was just playing him. He mastered some courage and started and stood up. Immediately he stood...the presence started attacking him. Being thrown on the walls across the room. He could scream as hard as he tried to. The howling wolves had now surrounded the house and you could feel them scratching the outside walls as if trying to get it.The presence in the room continued attacking Phil and out of nowhere it stopped. The voices in the house started echoing..."He is a threat. KILL HIM" over and over again. Phil was carried from the ground to the ceiling. He felt claws scratching his body, tearing him to pieces. He knew he couldn't bear any more suffering and tried as hard as he could to wake up from this dreadful nightmare.
As the presence in the house continued torturing him, there was a sudden bang on the door and it flew wide open. A sharp scream filled the house while the wind blew in so fast. The presence suddenly disappeared and Phil dropped to the floor. But it was not over yet for dear Phil. He was dragged outside and found himself in the middle of the clearing, surrounded by wolves. But somehow the wolves were bowing down to him. He wasn't sure what to make of this turn of events. "Or maybe it was over", Phil thought to himself. The wolves surrounding him started growing taller and bigger. While they grow, they turn from standing on fours to standing upright like bears do. One of the wolves stepped upon him and picked him up. This time gently. Then...
