CHAPTER 3

720 Words
Cracks in the Facade Bayo, Sade, and Detective James were left stunned and bewildered by Blessings' sudden disappearance. They couldn't believe what had just happened. One moment she was there, casting her spell, and the next she was gone. "What just happened?" Bayo asked, still trying to process the events. He felt like he was in a dream, like this was all some kind of nightmare that he couldn't wake up from. "I'm not sure," Detective James replied, his eyes scanning the room as if searching for clues. "But I think we just saw the real Blessings. The one she's been hiding behind that sweet facade." Sade shook her head, her eyes wide with fear. "I can't believe we trusted her. We thought she was taking care of Florence, but she was actually casting spells on us." Detective James nodded. "Yes, and I think she's been using her magic to control Florence too. That's why the baby's been acting strangely." Bayo's eyes widened in horror as the truth began to sink in. "What have we done? We've been so blind. We thought we were hiring a nanny to take care of our daughter, but instead we brought a monster into our home." Detective James put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't beat yourself up, Bayo. You didn't know what you were dealing with. But now that we know the truth, we need to act fast. We need to find Blessings and stop her before she does any more harm." But as they searched the house, they realized that Blessings was long gone. She had vanished without a trace, leaving behind only a faint hint of her dark magic. It was as if she had never been there at all. As they regrouped and tried to come up with a plan, Bayo couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt. He had been so blind, so trusting. He had put his family in danger. But Sade's words of encouragement and Detective James' determination to solve the case gave him the strength to keep going. Together, they vowed to find Blessings and bring her to justice. They started by searching the house from top to bottom, looking for any clues that might lead them to Blessings. They searched every room, every closet, every drawer. But there was nothing. No trace of her anywhere. As the search continued, Bayo couldn't help but think about how they had been so deceived. They had thought they were hiring a nanny, but instead they had brought a monster into their home. He thought about all the times Blessings had been alone with Florence, all the times she had been trusted to care for their daughter. He felt a chill run down his spine as he realized the extent of their mistake. But he pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand. They had to find Blessings and stop her before she did any more harm. As the sun began to set, they finally got a lead. A neighbor reported seeing Blessings getting into a car and driving away. They got the license plate number and traced it to a nearby town. With newfound hope, they set off to find Blessings and bring her to justice. But as they drove, Bayo couldn't shake off the feeling that they were in for a long and dangerous journey. They arrived in the nearby town and started canvassing the area, showing Blessings' picture to anyone who would look. Finally, they got a hit. A local shopkeeper recognized her and told them she had been in his store just hours before. They followed the trail, their hearts pounding with excitement and fear. They were getting close, they could feel it. Finally, they arrived at a small cottage on the outskirts of town. They could see Blessings' car parked outside, and they knew they had found her. But as they approached the cottage, they felt a strange sensation. It was as if the air around them was thickening, becoming harder to breathe. "What's going on?" Sade asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know," Detective James replied, his eyes scanning the area. "But I think we're in for a fight." And with that, the door to the cottage burst open, and Blessings emerged, her eyes blazing with malevolence...
