Chapter Five

Huntly

Staying away from Huntly was a lot harder than I thought. He was everywhere a new guest was. Of course, if they were beautiful, he made a fuss over them. Ordering me to make sure they had everything they wanted or didn't really need.

My mom holding the position she did doesn't make it any easier. Sometimes, I felt like she was on his side. Barking orders at me on days when the resort was full to capacity. If I called her out on it, she would come back with," It's just work, Bella,"

Here my name being paged I knew what was coming. Go get this, Bella, or take this to the room, whatever. Reaching the office, Sophia lets me in.

"Yes, Sir, you paged me." I said with a smile.

"Bella, this is Mr. and Mrs. Whaller from the North Ridge pack and their daughter Star. Please show them to their room. It's the private suite on the east side. Make sure the room I'd fully stocked and they have everything they need. Thank you, Bella." He actually spoke nice, but then he was trying to impress Star.

Showing them the way I gave them a tour, making sure they knew about all the activities going on. I even gave them a booklet explaining where it all was located in the resort. For the first time, I actually had a very nice intelligent conversation with a guest. They didn't treat me like I was different. They treated me like I was real. It almost made me cry. After getting them settled in, I headed out for my lunch break.

Stopping by the pool side, I watched as our guest enjoyed the warm water and slides. Day dreaming, I really didn't notice anyone else around. Feeling a body press up against me brought me back to reality.

"Watching all the pretty girls wishing you were one of them, Bella," his rough voice reached my ears.

"Back off and leave me alone. I am not bothering you." I voice back at him. But that just made him push into me harder.

Sinning me around, he gets real close to my face. "Keep dreaming. " Leaning closer, he starts kissing me. At first, I tried fighting it, but then my wolf pushed gorward, and I found myself giving in. Realizing what he was doing, he pulled away from me. Looking at me, he didn't say a word, just turned and walked away. My wolf inside my head was screaming , go after him , but I was too stubborn and scared to.

I was sitting playing with my food when I decided to call Calie. She always had good advice when I was messed up. Once again, Calie knew what to say to cheer me up.

I could see our special guest walk into the dining room being escorted by Huntly. Star was holding onto his arm. We all know what that means. I didn't see Sophia anywhere, so I guess her night with Huntly ended when Star showed up. Usually, when she stays at the office for lunch, he has dropped her for the new chick in town. When Star leaves, she will be his night toy again. You would think she would get tired of being a one night stand, but I guess she thinks she will adventually get his riches.

Finally, my shift was over. Mom was working late, and dad had surgeries all day, so he would be home late. Tonight, Sarah was actually going on a date. Wow. Not wanting to spend a Friday night home, Calie and I decided to take in a movie. One thing I will give this resort credit for is that they have an awesome movie theater, with all the top movies and one big snack bar with all the amenities, free to guest and workers.

Getting around, I put on the dress Sarah had gotten me. She said it would make me look mature. It fit me nicely and had a padded top that made me look like I had a chest instead of just bumps. Calie came early because she said I needed some makeup ( which I knew nothing about) to enhance my hazel eyes, yeah right I laughed. To my surprise, I didn't look half bad when she was done. She even fixed my hair. Heading out, I felt like I wasn't the odd ball for a change.

Stopping at the snack bar, we got our drinks and goodies for the movie. I even had a few guys stare at me, and one even winked. I think I almost fainted. Finding our seats, Calie and I talked about work and our earlier conversation. Calie let's out a scream that echoed through the whole theater. "You jerk." She yelled as Curtis jumped over the seats and plopped down beside me. "Bella, you look nice. What's the occasion?"He asked. Calie jumped on it right away. "She showing off her girly side." I just rolled my eyes.

It wasn't too far into the movie when we noticed Huntly and Star a few rows up from us. They were all over each other like two dogs in heat. Curtis was the first one to make a smart ass comment. Unfortunately, Huntly heard him. This was one time I wished us wolves didn't have such good hearing.

Coming back to our row, Huntly introduced Star to Curtis and Calie.It really ticked him off when Star spoke to me, thanking me for the tour of the resort earlier today. "She was just doing her job."He filtered in on the conversation. "Curtis, what are you doing here?"Huntly tries to redirect the conversation away from him. "Oh, I am here on a date with Bella." Curtis blurts out. Huntlys eyes went black, and a low harsh growl escaped his lips. Staring at Curtis for a moment, he takes Stars hand and abruptly walks away. "What was that?" Calie looked over at me.

Curtis excused himself and went after Huntly. We could hear yelling over the movie, so Callie and I went to see what was happening. Sure enough, those two were yelling at each like two school boys.

Brave Calie steps between them, putting her hands up to their face. "Boys, really?" It worked for a few seconds. Finally, my mom stepped in. I didn't even know she was still here. "ENOUGH!" She voice very loudly. "Huntly take your date and go do something. Curtis, girls, go back inside."

"Huntly , you date who you want, so don't tell Bella she can't date who she wants. Curtis has every right to date her. You made your choice. " Mom turned him toward the exit door. "Go."was all she needed to say.

Curtis, Callie, and I headed back in to finish watching the movie, but not before grabbing new drinks and snacks. Leaving the movie theater, we all decided to go for ice cream and walk the short cut through the park. We couldn't help but talk about Huntly and his immature arrogant ways. Even Curtis admitted that sometimes Huntly gets under his skin and they are best friends. "Huntly acts just like his father. Uses woman for his pleasure only if they are pretty enough. Roman called my mom, asking her to make arrangements for Sophia's mom to come home. He has hooked up with another woman already ." I was telling them about Sophia's mom the day we walked in on her and Roman in the office,it had them rolling in laughter. When you think about it, it's pretty funny.

"Hey, Bella. Question for you. Would you consider going on a real date with me?" Curtis asked from out of the blue. I was totally taken off guard. Calie nugges me with her arm."Bella. " She whispered as she just about knocked me over.

"Why would you want to date someone like me. I don't look like the other girls." I asked while looking down at the ground.

Curtis lifted my face up to look at him. "Sometimes it's not about looks. It's about the person inside. Please say you will." He sais with sincerity.

I didn't know what to say. Someone wanted to date me. Me. wow.
