Delia's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow! A job for me," Delia got up and twirled around in happiness. Then she sat down trying to contain her joy. "Well, I don't know if you'll like it. The agency will pair you up with a company looking for a janitor. You'll work as a janitor. Can you do that?" her aunt asked skeptically. "Sure aunt, I will do it. I don't mind cleaning so long it will pay my bills. Aunt, thank you. This means alot to me. When do I get to start?," Delia asked excitedly. Her aunt laughed. She was glad that Delia agreed to work for the agency. " Slow down alright. I will tell you all you need to know." Her aunt opened her purse and brought out a card. She gave it to Delia who glanced through it. "What will I do with it, aunt?" "Call the number you see on the card. And do as you're instructed," her aunt said. Delia had called the number on the card that afternoon and she was told to come in the next day. It was Tuesday morning, after meeting up with the agency, she was given the job as a janitor. And also given direction to the company where she would be working. The cab pulled up in front of Remix Enterprise. She got out after paying and went in. The P.A welcomed her. "You must be Delia, I have been expecting you." Delia smiled. "Yes, I was directed by the agency. I was told I will start working today." "Sure, I believe the agency told you what is expected. Come with me, let me show you around," the P.A said. Delia followed her as she was shown around. Then the P.A opened a door. Delia's jaw dropped in surprise. It was the biggest and most luxurious office she had ever seen. "Your job Delia is to clean only this office. This is the CEO's office. You're to resume work early everyday before he arrives to tidy up his office. I will advise you to do your job properly because he hates lousy workers," the P.A told her. "That won't be a problem. I promise to work diligently," Delia assured. The P.A almost rolled her eyes. That's what the previous ones had said until they mess up and get fired. She hoped Delia would work through this month. The thought of searching for another janitor is beginning to wear her out. Delia quickly got to work before the CEO would arrive. She arranged the books properly on the shelf. The CEO must be an avid reader with the huge collection of books she saw. The tiled floor was mobbed clean, she also dusted the chairs clean. On the table, she noticed a soiled paper bag. Definitely, it was not supposed to be on the table. Then she picked it up without checking the content and threw it in the trash can. She had finished cleaning, so she took the trash can outside to dump the content into the incinerator. When she was done, she dropped the trash can in its position. And closed the glass door gently behind her. The P.A saw her coming out and walked up to her. "Delia, are you done?," she asked. "Yes, I am done with the cleaning. Is there anything else left for me to do?" "Not at all. That will be all for today. Do not forget, your punctuality to work matters the most. Lateness to duty will not be condoned," she stated clearly. Delia nodded in agreement. " I understand." "Good. See you tomorrow," the P.A said dismissively. Delia left. She was glad that she got the job and soon she will have enough to cater to her needs. *** Baron got to his office, he had been busy all day attending different meetings regarding his work. He sat on the chair, he rolled his sleeves and loosened his tie. He needed to relax his nerves. The thought of his father's instructions made him furious. He has only five days left to get married or lose his inheritance to Alicia. That would be over his dead body. He would do everything humanly possible to secure his inheritance. The problem lies in looking for a wife. None of the women he had come in contact with appeal to him. He knew time was not on his side. The door opened and who he saw made him boil up in rage. It was Alicia, his step mother. "What the hell are you doing here?," he spat through gritted teeth. Alicia smiled mischievously and came close to him. She rubbed his chin but Baron slapped her red painted fingers away in fury. "Come on Baron, stop fighting me. You should accord me some respect," she said. Baron glared at her. "You worthless piece of s**t, deserves nothing from me," he fired. "I am your father's wife. Well, I came to see how far you've gone about getting a wife. I can't hear any wedding bells. Don't tell me you can’t get a woman to settle down with," she jeered. "You have no business here Alicia," he thundered as he got up facing her. He felt like slamming his fist into her but managed to calm himself. "We used to be lovers, Baron. We can still be," she purred. In anger Baron held her by the arm tightly and she winced in pain. "Now listen you shameless piece of trash, the next time you set your tiny feet into myspace, you'll have yourself to blame." Then he dragged her out of his office, pushed her outside and slammed the door in her face. Baron was seething with anger. He had an affair with Alicia but she broke up with him to marry his unsuspecting father. Of course she manipulated things to her favour, making his father believe everything Alicia said against Baron. This happened a few years ago when he was still starting out. Now he has it all, fame and wealth to his name. He sat down and ran his hand through his hair. He needed to forward a file to one of his clients. He lifted his wrist to check the time but found out his wrist watch was missing. No that can't be. That was a gift from his mother and it meant alot to him. Where could his wristwatch be?
