He ransacked his office looking for it. Yet he couldn't find it. He scattered the table looking for it. Turned the trash can too yet it was nowhere in sight. That wristwatch was the only gift given to him by his mother on her deathbed. It was valuable to him. Suddenly, he remembered that he kept it in a paper bag which he left on the table yesterday. But the paper bag was not on the table. He grabbed his phone and called his P.A. "I want you right this moment in my office," he barked. In a split second, his P.A rushed in. She was scared. What could it be? "Sir, you called me," she said. A look of fear hovered on her face. "Did anyone enter my office in my absence? I can't find my wristwatch." "N No, s sorry I mean to say yes," the P.A stuttered. Baron's eyes glazed with rage. " Who is the fool?" "Sir, it's the new janitor." Baron's jaw tightened. "Then she stole my wristwatch. Get that fool this instant or you'll pay dearly for this gross misconduct." The P.A flew out of the office in fear. She was trembling. Baron is not a man to mess with. She looked through a file and dialed Delia's number hoping she'd answer quickly before she got into trouble with Baron. Delia was flipping through a fashion magazine when her cell phone rang. She saw a strange number in the caller Id. Then she answered quickly. " Hello," "Delia, it's Baron's P.A can you hurry up to the firm? There is an emergency." Delia's face had a worried look. "What could it be?" "I can't really say. Just come quietly." Delia dropped the phone and hurried out. When she got to the firm, she was ushered into the CEO's office. His back was turned against her, he was looking through the window. Baron turned towards her. The man standing before her was well over 6 feet. His broad shoulders filled his well tailored suit nicely. He had a commanding presence and an air of arrogance around him. It was clear even to the blind that Baron was devastatingly handsome. Delia felt intimidated by him as he ran his icy blue eyes through her in disdain. "You're the fool that stole my wristwatch," his biting words cut through her. And she gasped. "What are you talking about? I did not steal anything from you. I only cleaned your office." "There was a paper bag on this table. Where is it?," he thundered. Delia shrinked in fear. What has she done? No. This can't be. She remembered the paper bag. "Where is it," he repeated. Anger blazed through his eyes as he walked slowly towards her. While she kept moving back in fear. "Yes, yes. I remember it. I did not know there was something valuable inside. I threw it away," she whimpered. "What? How dare you?," he roared. "I am so sorry sir. It was not intentional." He regarded her with a cold look." That wristwatch means alot to me. It's quite expensive. Even if you work for the rest of your miserable life, you won't be able to pay for it. So that leaves us with one option. Which is to be locked behind bars to pay for your stupidity.`` Delia was shocked. " Please, I beg of you sir. I can't afford to go to jail over this.I would do anything. Just anything. Please," she fell on her knees pleading with him. A sardonic smile crossed Baron's face. He crouched down staring at her. She could not look him in the eyes . He raised her face with his finger. "Now listen to me," he barked. "There is a solution to all of this. If you do not want to spend your miserable life in jail, marry me." The words hit her in shock. She couldn't believe her ears. "No, I can't," she protested. "Then you leave me no choice but to call the authorities on you." "Yes, yes. I will marry you," she blurted out without thinking twice. "Good. Get ready to be my wife. We shall get married first thing tomorrow," he announced. In the blink of an eye, everything happened so fast. That night Baron's driver had dropped her in front of her aunt's house. Her aunt stood outside looking at the black luxurious car parked out there. She watched as Delia stepped out looking sad. What could be the problem? The car drove away. And Delia's eyes welled up in tears as she walked in. Her aunt was anxiously waiting to know what had happened. "Delia, that scares me. What is it?," her aunt asked. "I misplaced the CEO's wristwatch while cleaning his office . He threatened to send me to jail." . "That can't be. You can't go to jail," her aunt said. She was worried, she wouldn't want any harm to befall her niece. "To pay for what I did. I am to marry him." Her aunt stared wide eyed at Delia. " That's ridiculous." "We don't even have enough to pay back. I don't want to marry a total stranger but I do not have a choice," Delia sobbed. Her aunt consoled her. It was a sad moment for them. The next day, all preparation for the civil wedding was set. The whole thing played out like a movie before Delia's eyes. Standing before the priest was Baron and his friend. He watched as Delia stepped in with aunt behind her. It was just a simple wedding with no invited guest. Baron felt at ease with his decision.Soon, he would lay claim on his father's estate. Delia meant nothing to him.She was just a tool. The priest spoke out." Do you accept Baron as your lawfully wedded husband?," Delia was hesitant at what was about to happen. Should she continue with the wedding?
