CHAPTER TWELVE - MARCH, 1992 Over the next few days, it was Carol who phoned me and at all times of day and night. While I did not like her to feel low or depressed, she seemed so much closer to me when she felt this way. From my point of view, the worst aspect was that I did not know how long she would feel like this. Every new day brought with it the possibility that she would make some cutting remark or just finish with me. She surprised me, one night, by talking about the possibility of us living together.
